      My husband and I have a Generac solar home power system with batteries. I recommend, if you are thinking of purchasing a solar system, RUN from this business. They have a third party installer and repair. The first third party company not only neglected to set the system up correctly, which cost us over *****, they went bankrupt. (We were paying a full electric bill for months before we got help from another solar companys salesman to know why we were Not seeing ANY SAVINGS)Generac hired another third party company to service our system. At the end of May a lightning storm came through. We made a call at the beginning of June for our system to be serviced. Without a phone call or set up appointment, the service men showed up at our front door. Im just happy I was home to have them look at our system. The men told me they were Not there for a service call, but to update our system. I asked them, since you are here can you please tell me why its not working and why Im paying a full electric bill on top of my monthly bill for the solar. They agreed to look. I was very grateful They told me they had to replace the inverter. They would have to wait for the part to come in a schedule an appointment. It is now August 1 and they still have not fixed our system. We called Generac directly to see if they could help us. After several calls to both companies, from late June to present day (Aug. 1,2023) NOTHING has been fixed. So we have a bill for a solar system that does not work l, a full electric bill for 2 months so far, and we we have had 2 power outages sitting in the dark. The odd thing is that the 2 power outages were Not due to a storm. My husband called the third party, ******, again this morning. They said they have the part, they have the work order, BUT they can not schedule an appointment Bc they have NO IDEA when someone can come out to replace the inverter. IF GENERAC HAD A BETTER 3d PARTY COMPANY THEY WOULD BE A BETTER SOLAR COMPANY!

      A year ago I ordered a solar system to power my whole house. In the first year and a half I had about three or four minor issues that were taken care of and professional manner and time. It came up with a bad resetter and it took 18 days to get it back up. That was two service calls I diagnosed it the first day and told them it needed a new beacon it took him 18 days to get a tech out to start to tell him it needed a new beacon and to order the beacon then they sent it without appropriate markings and nobody knew what was happening I had to call for them to figure out where the part was. Now one of the CT clamps is bad and I have to wait another week for somebody to come out and tell me that my diagnosis is correct and then it'll take another week to get the part here. I don't think Generac cares very much about their customers. My first suspicion was when it takes an hour to get a hold of somebody every time I have a problem. I've waited for 2 hours on hold before. If this company cares about their customers, you wouldn't be on hold for an hour every time. If I were buying solar with a backup.baytery, I'd investigate the alternatives to Generac.

      Save your money. Their equipment has issues but they want to blame everyone else. Will never give another dime to them. Will also encourage any company to refrain from using them.

      Stay away from Generac solar equipment. Nothing has worked the way I was told it would. And less then 2 years in to it my battery backup stopped working. Four months later and still no answer in sight for repairs. Stay away from Generac and anyone associated with ******************* or ****************** Scam and thieves.

      I have had a solar system installed over 2 years ago it has only worked fully functioning maybe a month here and there. We beyond disgusted and disappointed. I have never been treated this poorly. When will this system ever work properly. Their partner Novasource seems complicit in their pushing off repairs for month. PLEASE FIX MY SYSTEM. I AM TIRED OF THE EXCUSES.

      I am not alone in these 1-stars. I've had this junk generator for less than 2 years, and of the 3-4 power failures I've had, it has only worked ONE time. Each time I am told by the servicer, under warranty, that there was a "flaw" in something. This is unacceptable. I bought it because I am out of town a great deal, and need to know my home is secure while away, power functioning. I also live in the snow belt, lots of storms. Sadly, my investment has done nothing at all to alleviate my worst fears.

      Shame on me for not finding these reviews before we purchased our 26KW and installed 07JUL2023.Developed engine oil leak after 30 minute run time. Here's it is 20JUL2023. Can't get generac to return calls or get anyone to fix the oil leak. All the dealers in ***** said if we didn't install it were not fixing some wanted $250.00 just to come look at it. Over a week ago got a case #******* said the issue would be resolved in 72 hours. Nope Can't get a human on the line left our ph number no return calls. Worst **** thing we ever bought. Sorry A$$ ***

      Bought a 20k Generac Generator and I'm sorry I didnt shop around for a more reliable unit. Had this generator for about 2 years and the engine failed, related to an inadequate design of the push rod assembly. The dealer (**********) installed a newly designed bracket that prevented wear on the pushrod, preventing breakage. We had to pay for the labor, as opposed to Generac filing for a recall, which affected many engines, I would imagine. Bottom line....families needing to purchase a back-up generator should shop around and research the reviews customers report. Disappointed in **.

      Generac does not even deserve one star. They installed my unit and did not check the propane attachment they put in they didnt even conduct state mandated pressure testing. Someone couldve been killed all the propane leak out they have yet to do anything about this problem that they created. I am not through with them yet. Beware beware beware of Generac.

      This product failed in the first two years and the technical support or field technician was scheduled 4 to 6 weeks out. My family Was without power for 5 days with the Generac sitting. They supposedly offer 24 hr field tech support to get you up and running. It didn't happen. 4 to 6 weeks is way too long for energy to be out. Luckily I had a backup generator or my food would have been spoiled $800 dollars worth. June 7th is when I put in the work order and they won't be here until July 17th. Then they tell me they will come diagnose the problem wich is at least a $300 dollar service charge figure out what is wrong go back to the shop,order the part and then charge me for another $300 + to fix the problem.
