1 starAir Canada ******* to ***** was the worst flight of my life. In a short flight from ******* to ***** with a connector in *********. The connector is a 20 minute flight from ********* to ****** I experienced 11, yes 11 delays and gate changes. A screen shot cannot show the frustration or physical pain caused by Air Canada's lacking. Running through large busy airports. Gate changes that required taking the tram in ******* to different gates. Standing in lines of enraged customers to Information desks. All of us just trying to get to our destinations. It looked like a riot may ensue at the ********* airport in the Air Canada section. Employees that were trying hard, but also up against a behemoth company that seemed to care as little for them as they do for their customers. I kept apologizing to employees for expressing my frustration but I was never offered a manager to talk to. I was offered a card with numbers to call. I would not last a day as an employee for this company. I felt so bad for my fellow Canadians that have to work for a company that is so bad that they should not use the word Canada in their name. I could have made this travel by buses and ferry in about 10 hours. My travel by Air Canada with checkpoints and lines Started in ******* before 11:00 A.M. and ended more than 12 hours later. My 66 year old back, legs and bum still hurt the next day as I write this.Review fromDave T

1 starSimply said, I booked a summer vacation. Then our daughter had a medical emergency. Tried to call and search online to cancel. Phone never responded, online - i finally found option to cancel loosing over 75% of original paid amount. There is NO OTHER buisness in the world where you loose that much for an medical emergency. this is a total ****. They dont even deserve a D- rating.Review fromAmanda H

1 starI booked a reservation for myself and for my boyfriend from *********** to ******, and then ****** to ********. I paid extra for our tickets with Air Canada so that our checked bags were included on our return flight but we still had to pay $30 usd each for a total of $60 usd to check our bags when we checked in at the counter with ****** ******** (the partner Air Canada assigned as our flight carrier) as they did not have it in their system that we paid with Air Canada. We still had to pay and were told to request reimbursement from Air Canada. I filed a claim and no response. We also paid extra for seat selection and this was also not honoured. They separated my boyfriend and I so a family can sit together on our flight from *********** to ******. Its not my problem that this family didnt think to pay for seat selection, so why should we get punished? From the ****** to ******** flight it was delayed by 3 hours due to crew constraints. I filed a claim for compensation which I am eligible for, as it was within the airlines control but they wrote back saying my flight was not with air Canada, but through another provider so they would not honour it. It was an air Canada plane and the flight number was ******. The reservation WAS booked directly through the air Canada website, as I used flight vouchers from a previous flight delay to book the tickets. They are the most dishonest and ********** company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.Review fromColton B

1 starThey lost my baggage for 4 days. When returned, it was missing a $300 ***** electric shaver and a $100 external battery. These were located in the top pocket of my bag, easily accessible. When I try to call in, my number has been blacklisted or something, because I can't get past "Press 1 for English". When I call on my wifes phone, it works fine. From the moment my baggage had been deemed lost until now, this has been the worst experience I've ever had with a company, period... not just an airline. If I could give 0 stars, I would.Review fromGary E

1 starI recently came back from vacation and Air Canada lost my luggage. There were at least 20 unclaimed suitcases on the carousel. That was in addition to the 10 - 15 suitcases that had obviously been unclaimed from another flight. The individual who delivered my luggage the next day laughingly told me, and I quote: "Air Canada does not give a f*** about where they send luggage. It's cheaper for them to be totally incompetent and hire us to track down and deliver bags." *********** is aptly called "Where's my suitcase". I thought the guy was joking, but he was serious. This means that not only has Air Canada brought customer service to a new low, but in my case, I had to take a day off work and wait for my luggage to be delivered. In addition to the inconvenience of not receiving my luggage, I had to take another vacation day or lose a day's wages. Not only do I have to pay Air Canada to be incompetent and lose my baggage, but I have to pay a day's wages to get them back. I'm not sure who *** ***** ** *** came up with this policy, but he or she should be fired as should Air Canada CEO *******************************, who is obviously way overpaid for running a bunch of incompetent *****.Review fromKross T

1 starOur original flight Mon Apr17,2023 @0800 departing ********** with a connection into ******* Canada to final destination ****** ***** ***** Tues Apr18 @1720 was delayed over 12hours. We arrived in ***** ** Wed Apr 19@0520. Our luggage was lost. We spent the first 2 days of our vacation shopping for bare necessities (undies, deodorant, toothbrush/paste, socks, shirts and pants. We also had to absorb the expenses of missing those days and nights from our airBnB. I called (**** ****** ************** ****** as this is the ONLY number on their website regarding fight disruptions https://www.aircanada.com*********************************************************************** **** **** ** *** **************** ****** *** I was ON HOLD FOR 2hours before being disconnected without speaking to anyone (see screenshot attached) According to air canada policy, I should be compensated 1000CAD/per person (2000 total along with my spouse) https://www.aircanada.com/content/dam/aircanada/portal/documents/PDF/en/atpdr/ACF519.pdf Additionally *** also agreed that compensation for receipts during the days of lost luggage and lost lodging reservations would be in addition to the 1000CAD/person. 1 starI would give Air Canada 0 stars if I could. Flew to ** from ******* in at the beginning of June and needed to change return flight from a different airport as my plans changed at the last minute. The website did not work, nor did the app. I called customer service and waited on hold for several hours, to no avail. I end up having to cancel my flight and rebook with a different airline. I get an email confirming that my leg is being refunded in the form of a travel credit and when I call in to enquire about it 10 days later, nobody knows what's going on with it and I'm told I have to wait for it to show up in my A/C wallet. Nothing happens, I call back and I'm told I have to book over the phone with an agent. I had been waiting on that credit to book another flight and could have done that days earlier while fares were cheaper if they had trained their staff better or their systems been working properly. No accommodation or apology offered, no form of compensation offered either. I have used countless different airlines and have never come across a more unhelpful or poorly run airline. I will be going out of my way in the future to not use this airline again because they genuinely do not care about the consumer and their company inadequacies ended up costing me an additional $1000.Review fromAmin D

1 starNot sure what’s has happened with Air Canada but nothing but problem’s with our recent trip to Europe. Upon arriving in Barcelona our checked in baggage was held hostage for 6 hours many people had to get on a cruise and had no choice but to leave their bags behind. Zero communication from Air Canada we later heard unofficially that possible wildcat strike from Air Canada Baggage handlers. Completely changed our return flight from direct flight ****** to ********* on June 16 to ****** to ********* ****************** on June 17 which meant we had to scramble to find accommodation and make arrangements at home thank God our travel agent fixed this back to the June 16 departure but no more direct flight home. We arrived 3 1/2 hours early for our departure flight only to find out we are now travelling to ******* not ******** and no longer sitting together despite pre paying for selected seats months in advance. After multiple delays at ******* Airport as Air Canada was scrambling to get pilots and flight crew together, we felt very fortunate to make it home as many paid customers told us their misfortunes of canceled flights snd having to find accommodation then coming back to the Airport and try again to arrange flight home. Air Canada has no problem taking your money and have no clerical errors in charging for your seating and checked baggage but be prepared afterwards thats when the rescheduling or administration errors will show none in your favor. Would not recommend using Air Canada hopefully it changes in the near future as people saving up and going on a vacation should not have to deal with headaches from Air Canada which once was a good Carrier.Review fromLuis F

1 starMy wife and I booked a birthday trip to ******* through Air Canada Rouge. We unfortunately had to cancel our trip due to the wild fires in Canada that were making the air quality bad. I have asthma so there was no way I was going on this trip. I called to cancel or to see if I could change the ticket or get credit but I was told because I booked the cheapest plan they offer I am not able to do anything. I lost $1,000 in money due to this. I understand if this was a personal matter but this was due to the wildfires. They should have something in place to compensate travelers when things like this happen. I will never fly Air Canada due to this.
