1 starAir Canada is a terrible company I have dealt with so far.I bought two tickets for my wife and daughter in 2020, but had to cancel due to Covid breakout. It left $1864.24 (******** dollar) in my account. In 04/20/2022, a case was created to award me voucher with a confirmation email which reads:Hello,Please accept this email as confirmation that your request has been received. We recommend that you keep a record of your Case Number should you need to inquire about your request in the future. Note that processing may take up to 10 weeks from submission date depending on the complexity of the booking. To avoid duplication and further delays, please do not re-submit your information. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.Air Canada Your case number is: CAS-*******-G1N1X3?After waiting (10) weeks without any feedback, I tried to call but was turned away. I went to their customer relation webpage twice, and my request was converted into two new case numbers (CAS-*******-Q9F0R1, CAS-*******-P6L4J1).On 08/20/2022, I finally welcomed the first message written by a human from air Canada. It reads:Your case number is: CAS-*******-Q9F0R1 Dear ********,Thank you for taking the time to contact us.Your request to have the remaining value of your booking converted into an Air Canada Travel Voucher that never expires is still being processed.Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated as we continue to adapt to this dynamic situation.Sincerely,************************* Customer Relations Then I waited another four months hearing nothing. I then wrote an email with all question marks on 12/09/2022. It went into a deep deep black hole. Horrible silence.Review fromColin P

1 starAIR CANADA IS THE WORST!We were at the gate and they sent text messages to all of us at once. No announcement made overhead. Gate attendant standing in front of us said he could not help with rebooking and told us to go back to the customer service booth. At the customer service booth, they told us to leave the airport, not to talk to them even though they were standing in front of us, and and just rebook online. Phone line for customer service says they are not taking any calls. No online rebooking info to be found. They stranded everyone with no way to communicate with them, and they refused to communicate with us IN PERSON at the airport. We were left to stay in the first hotel we could find, and rent a car to drive 11+ hours to our destination. It's been 3 days and we have yet to hear any communication from Air Canada. This is the second time Air Canada has done this to me, so I can only imagine how often this occurs to their regular customers.I will NEVER fly with AIr Canada again.Review fromJay H

1 starI purchased 3 airline tickets from Air Canada for me, my wife and mother in law (and my 7 month old daughter who was free) to fly direct to ***** from *********. About a week before our trip my father in law had an emergency aorta operation to save his life. We spent every day at the hospital with him because he had nobody to else to help. We had to cancel our trip and we received a voucher for future flights with a small penalty. 3 months later the pandemic started. The world shut down and nobody knew about covid we were all in the same boat. I called air Canada about the voucher and the agent I spoke to was very nice. They informed me that this voucher was extended for two years. A year and a half later covid was starting to calm down a bit and restrictions were starting to ease up so I called air Canada to see about my voucher and if we could use it for a trip to ******. Sadly they told me that they implemented a policy and that the policy now is that you have to use the voucher within 2 years of the purchase, not 2 years from when the voucher was issued ( what the agent had told me a year and a half prior) They told me sorry but your voucher has expired and that I will receive nothing in return. They basically took **** dollars from me. I sent several emails to customer relations and the refund department to get back what is owed to me so I can use it for THEIR AIRLINE. About month later after a very long email chain I talked to many agents through email who were very nice and gave me solid hope. In the end customer relations told me to they understand my story and situation but sorry policy is policy and I will not receive anything on my voucher. NOT WHAT THEY HAD TOLD ME in April 2020. I received no emails no letters in the mail and zero notifications that my voucher expires within 2 years of purchase. I am filing a complaint through the BBB today and will fight until I get what is owed to me. Take care out there everyone!Review fromStephen L

1 starI have had the worst experience with Air Canada. Honestly it has been years and multiple issues but ill stick to the most recent. My wife missed the rehearsal for her brother's wedding due to multiple delays and 4 cancelled flights just getting from *** to ***. Travelling for the same wedding my flight was cancelled because the pilot said over the intercom there was a chance the flight may be diverted (because a flight the day before was) and they didn't want to waste gas. They refused to reschedule the flight. They said it would take me transiting 5 airports over 3 days to get to *** and I would arrive after I was supposed to return. There was 300+ passengers having connecting flights all over the world and they just told us all to go home. No new flight. Obviously I missed the wedding... days taken off work... hotels booked. its been 6 weeks and no response from Air Canada Customer Service. Now my mother-in-law is booked to come here to *** and they've cancelled her flight. New one booked for tomorrow. Wonder if it will be cancelled? I'm sure no compensation for time off work, missing time with family at Christmas... probably not even a response by customer service. Air Canada deserves less than 1 star. Yet they get protected from competition so you have no choice but to book with them... Complaint going in with the ****Review fromBen T

1 starI need to complain about this company. If it was once and a while that a flight was delayed but it is every time I fly with them. Unfortunately they have the monopoly from my province since west jet has started to pull out. But this is unacceptable. High prices for poor service and delays.Review fromDee D

1 starTerrible customer service, rude, power trippers. Arrived 3 hours early. Computer check in didn't work, priory line was packed, was directed to other line. Waiting in line for over an hour. During this time the manager and other attendants were holding up the line with other passengers who should have been directly somewhere else. Was led back to priority line to be told booming was cancelled. Zero empathy with any employee, just dismissed and ***************. After being directed to the manager, he rudely accused of late check it, mean while this same manager caused the line delay, after being called out on his action he became rude, condescending and unhelpful. We also discovered that several people were booted off the flight to be replaced by passenger paying higher costs for last minute flights. Sadly the bigger a company becomes, the less they care about people and it all becomes about greed.Review fromZiyue X

1 starOur flight was cancelled and Air Canada told us that they did no have any hotel room and we were totally on our own. Later filed a claim with them for reinburstment, which they said that they would get back to us in 45 days. Now the date has passed and no one cared to response to us.Review fromAnwar K

1 starAir Canada is the worst airlines I have ever flown with. Our last trip to Canada was a living nightmare as our flight home was cancelled and Air Canada offered absolutely no help. I was traveling with my wife and two young kids and not a single representative assisted with flight rescheduling or accommodations for the night. Working with customer service after the fact resulted in nothing but a meaningless voucher to fly with them again after a 45 day wait period. My luggage was lost, hotel room paid out of pocket, and flight rescheduling completely unassisted all because they cancelled a flight 3 hours after saying it was 'delayed'. This airline does not care about you as a customer. Avoid at all costs.Review fromBryan B

1 starAir Canada has become a joke. 10 years ago, was one of the best airlines you could fly. But now: I booked travel for a corporate trip. For the same round-trip, non-stop flight, there were 6 options for fares, each one between $60 and $100 higher than the prior. The highest ("Premium") was 3x the middle price and about $1000 more than the next cheapest flight. The ridiculous thing was that, no matter what level & price you chose, there were NO seats available that you could pick without paying an additional fee - nowhere on the plane, all seats were "premium" and you were not even allowed to select a seat on the booking page. So I proceeded to purchase and went directly to Air Canada's mobile app and website to try to pay for the "upgrade" of simply reserving a seat, The website and mobile app both said that you could not do this in the app or online, but that you MUST speak with an agent to reserve a seat, I tried to call the customer support line, it was a "51 minute to 1 hour 45 minute wait time"!!! I gave up. I tried every method available to get to an agent for help, but neither email, text, nor call support allowed one to reserve a seat. I read the other reviews on this page and decided this was not a company with which to do business. I gave up, cancelled the flight, deleted the app from my phone and went over to Delta to book the flight instead. Now I have to make a connection in both directions, but at least I can reserve a seat and, based on the experiences of others who have posted here, I have a much higher likelihood of actually completing the flight successfully.Review fromjordan G

1 starMy initial flight from ****** was delayed about 2 hours. I asked the flight attendant about missing my connection and she rudely dismissed me and said to see a gate agent. I asked a different flight attendant if she could announce for connecting flights to exit the plane first, and she said they would announce it. THEY NEVER DID. I ran off the plane anyway with my gf and rushed through customs, just to still miss our flight by a few minutes. Nobody made any effort to help us. Instead we were offered two $10 CAD meal vouchers while we were told to wait in our gate for 6 hrs for the 8PM flight. $7 USD for a 6 hour delay is an insult to me. I discussed my displeasure with customer service and asked what if my next flight was delayed, to which I was told "Why would it be delayed? That flight is never delayed it's a big flight. It hasn't been delayed in months". Sure enough, that 8PM was also delayed around an hour due to removing waste from the plane? She literally said it wouldn't get delayed, which is so stupid since it seems clear most your flights get delayed. We got home about 10 hours later than we were initially supposed to thanks to all these issues, turned into a near 24 hour travel journey for us
