      Terrible airline. They used to be great but now free cancellation means giving you credits that expire in 12 months. Flew with them last year and the A/C was broken ok the plane. Now we are forces to fly with them to use credits. Our flight was delayed then canceled. Re-booked for over 24 hours later and then delayed again. All communication is via robocall and email so anyone without access to a cell phone on vacation is out of luck. Call center takes forever to answer calls. Compensation is only offered to adults on the flight although they charge full price for a child ticket. Terrible customer service. Don't fly with them if you need to get somewhere on time.

      They "promise" compensation of $400 due to their delay. Yes, when you go to use it, it suddenly disappears and never gets deposited into your bank account. They don't offer any follow up or any assistance. They've used the 3rd party for their "compensation" OR they never truly intended to pay the compensation. Horrible and dishonest.

      Terrible business practices. They cancel their flights then refuse to compensate travellers. Its not fair and should be illegal.

      DEPLORABLE AND DISPICABLE: Westjet ****** ** *** Return Flight ******** to *******. Delay: This flight was delayed for over 41/2+hours. Due to the delay the plane was very cramped and passengers were given FREE checked luggage (an option I had paid extra for with Premium Economy). Also snacks and beverages were unavailable to passengers seated at the rear of the plane. Once in flight the pilot announced that the MAIN reason for the delay was that the crew was out on a late night flight and were required to get the sufficient rest according to airline regulations. I demanded a refund, but Westjet is trying to whitewash the incident due to weather. NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! STAR RATING SHOULD BE-100, NOT 1. THIS IS AM INTERNAL SCHEDULING PROBLEM BECAUSE IF THE **** IS REQUIRED TO GET THE REQUIRED AMOUNT OF REST BEFORE BEING ALLOWED TO FLY THE SCENARIO WOULD HSAVE OCCURRED REGARDLESS OF THE WEATHER!!!

      I understood the cancelation on Dec.23 when the storms affected Canada. I was rebooked onto a flight on the 25. Atlantic Canada has very few flight options to go west so I was staying in a hotel as I lived 4 hours away. On the 25 I received an email it had been canceled again and they gave me the 28th as an option. I took it. Drove home the drove back and got another hotel, this flight was delayed but happened. I applied for some compensation for the 25th cancellation, as all airports were all flying and no weather problems. They continue to deny this claim. Unfortunately in Atlantic Canada we have our hands tied and the air carriers exploit that. I will do my best not to fly with west jet again.

      This is the worst airline I have ever encountered. I and My Wife (pregnant) traveled with them on Dec. 22 from *** to *** with Qatar Airways covering from *** to ***. The flight from *** to *** was a nightmare. Before boarding, they announced that there is no space for cabin baggage so passengers will have to book their luggage in the Belly or Cargo. After boarding, I realized the actual reason was that their plane cabin was too small for a standard cabin bag to fit hence the passengers were being forced to shove their bags in that small compartments. They probably would have violated some Aviation Regulation Laws in a full flight. There is no entertainment system on the plane so you could not watch a movie, play games or listen to music. There was only a single washroom available which was not even clean. They offered us Water and some snacks which I appreciate. But after landing we waited for over 3 hours on the *** airport for our luggage just to know at the end that they lost it all. I can understand, because of the bad weather a plan can only carry so much weight, but at least the customer service should be honest enough to accept their fault. I filed a baggage claim right away and all my bags were delivered at my doorstep after 3 weeks' time. I was asked to purchase essentials by customer service and put in a refund request which I did. And now It has been over 45 days after filing for a refund and I haven't heard back, nor do I have any proof of filling out the form as their website does not allow you to print a copy or confirmation for a claim. I have been on the WestJet helpline every day for the last 7 days and I have been kept on hold for hours and still, I am unable to get in touch with any person who can at least tell me the status of my complaint. Their Chat support clearly disappoints by saying we can't do anything and you have to contact CBS team. When ask for their contact they do not reply and ignore, till you start the procedure all over again.

      WESTJET IS A TERRIBLE AIRLINE SINCE THE NEW OWNERSHIP. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND REFUSES TO BE ACCOUNTABLE AND FIX PROBLEMS THEY CAUSE.
      IVE BERN FLYING WITH WESTJET FOR 20 YEARS. I WILL NEVER FLY WITH WESTJET AGAIN AND WILL BE CANCELING MY WESTJET CREDIT CARD. THEY SUCK.

      Usually I don't complain about anything unless it's really bad so I was debating about bringing this up and didn't want to earlier when I was still angry about it. On Tuesday January 31st I flew out of the ************* airport at 6:30am. I got checked in and was told to rush to the gate, after making it through security I made it to the gate at 6:20am (said it on my phone and the tv at the gate) but the lady at the gate said I was to late and wouldn't let me on the flight. I then called a west jet contact us number to get on a flight that left at 7:30am to meet my connecting, I was left on hold for 20 minutes and then when she came back on she said I had 3 minutes to make it to the check in point to be able to make it on the next flight so pretty much left me on hold so that they didn't have to transfer my ticket to make me have to pay again! At that point I called *** ****** instead and they had me on a flight within 5 minutes of calling them, I am sad that I had this terrible experience since usually west jet has been very good in the past, now I will be flying for work a bunch and this experience has left a really sour taste in my mouth compared to how good *** ****** was to deal with.

      DEPLORABLE AND DISGUSTING ********************* I do not know what happened to this airline, I used to enjoy a day with WestJet now its Russian roulette. This is 3 times in the past year that they have completely screwed my travel plans. Last year at this time they left me to drive home to ** from ****** without even a sorry. I swore then it would be my last flight, but I gave them another try in Nov 2022. We were delayed over 6 hours on a 45 minute flight, which ended up being a waste by the time we actually arrived. We just attempted another trip to ****** which was late leaving and a complete train wreck coming home. Delayed out of ****** missed our connection after being told they were waiting for the 11 of us who were running to the next gate. We were denied boarding and yelled at and aggressively shown terrible behavior by the Westjet Gate employee. He slammed the glass door to the walk so hard against the wall I am shocked the glass didn't break. Then split up on to seperate flights 6 and 8 hours later. Only one flight left 10 hours later and the other canceled with no options. Half our group had to rent a car with an out of province drop fee at the tune of $600.We all understand things happen, but when it's on you and you as a corporation have the ability to make it right then you should do so. Rather WestJet staff take the oath that it is out of their hands, not their fault, and have no issue with speaking to you like garbage and trusting you like garbage!!!! This only adds insult to injury and has coat WestJet alot of customers and will continue to do so if they don't make some big changes soon.Shame on you WestJet!!!!!!
