      I used to be a big WestJet fan, used to be fun to fly with them. Havent been on a flight since Covid but over the last 3 months I have been getting up to 3 calls a day telling me this is my lucky day. My name has been selected for a fabulous vacation to ******. Push 1 if I want to hear about it, push 2 if I want to be placed on their do not call list. Pushing 2 simply gets you through to an agent that starts in on the sales pitch, you are never removed from their call list. They are bold-face liars and incredibly and relentlessly annoying. I will never go near another WestJet flight in my life.

      Flights. Routinely cancelled with no communication and. I compensation. Only way to get your money back is thru a credit card chargeback. Low cost airline with low quality service.

      This is the worst airline ever. We travelled with them on Jan. 6 from ********** to ******* with a connecting flight to **********. The flight from ********** to ******* was fine since it was a very short flight but the trip from ******* to ********** was a nightmare. It left ******* at midnight and it was a full flight. The flight is over 6 hours long and there was no food served. I thought that food was supposed to be served on flights that are over 6 hours long. The attendants did not even offer meals for purchase. There is no entertainment system on the plane so you could not watch a movie, play games or listen to music. There were only 2 washrooms available unless you had one of the seats in the premium section. 2 washrooms to serve over 180 passengers on a flight that is over 6 hours long. I cannot sleep on planes so I thought that I would at least be able to read. Wrong! The pilot announced that since the reading lights would disturb the passengers that wanted to sleep he was going to turn off all reading lights until morning. Are you kidding me? The reading light is not that bright and it is focused just on the seat of the person who requires it. So there I am stuck on the flight from h*** no food, I cannot sleep, when I want to use the washroom (which is pretty gross since it has to serve so many passengers) I have to stand in line behind a number of passengers and I cannot read. I just sat in the dark for a large portion of the flight.Never again will I fly Westjet

      WORST experience, and I cannot believe I am saying this about WestJet. They used to be my favourite.There was NO communication between gates for connecting flights, we missed it by 15minutes. I had spoken to 3 different attendants even calling the Vacations line before our first departure. We were told they had no way of contacting anyone at our next gate. Then we were told by that gate attendant that there wasn't much he could do besides book us another connecting flight through ****** (right because this went so well) and even then this would take 2 1/2 days off of our 7 day Vacation. He suggested he book us a flight back to ******** and if we spoke to the vacations line before hand they could give us more information and possibilities. We tried to sleep in the airport, which is another review in itself. 6am I was on the phone to the Vacations Line. Around 6:20 I was talking to someone who put be on and off of hold while she looked up options/found our information. I was fairly frustrated by this time with no sleep and rude gate attendants. Especially the one at gate A04 Dec 17th 7am for our flight back to ********. I have never encountered such a disgusting form of customer service. I heard a very understanding couple say to her "you know, a little bit of kindness goes a long way" to which she replied "oh yeah!? well I could say the same to you! and if I have to deal with you much longer like this the flight won't be leaving until 9!!" Finally at 6:57 I had been told the sad reality that our trip was completely non refundable and I was on hold to find out if we were still booked for 9:10am the following morning like my email had stated. I mentioned this to her as we were the last people trying to board. She raised her voice and said "you have 2 minutes!" My partner and I shrugged our shoulders in total defeat and I hung up to board our flight.

      Seems ridiculous, that after you cancel my flight 1hr prior to my Dec 24th departure due to staffing issues. I'm then left completely in the dark for days, given no answers, then offered a red eye flight with my small children on the 30th. Considering my return is the 2nd of Jan and my kids already missed Christmas, this makes no sense to take. Then after deciding to cancel the trip WestJet refuses refund (or travel credit )for the return portion of my trip, due to technically! The travel site I booked through, (CheapOair) booked the departure and return separately (for reasons I neither understand, nor was made aware of). because of this I must forfeit more than $1,000 of fair. This is completely unacceptable! I followed all the airline rules and completed any commitments I had to this trip. A major airline like westjet has an obligation to make this right, I should not pay for the airlines mistake, and they have no right to profit from s******* it's consumer. any reasonable person would understand the situation and simply return the money.

      WestJet cancelled our flight 1/2 hour before it was to leave, with no explanation, just over the intercom the gal said they would not answer any questions and to just go get our baggage. 15 minutes later we got an email from them For your reference, your reservation code is: ****** saying the cancellation was under investigation and unfortunately, were unable to offer you an alternative WestJet flight at this time. We will continue to attempt to find and offer you a flight that accommodates your travel needs that would depart within 48 hours of your original departure time. Alternatively, you will be entitled to a refund for your airfare if you would prefer. If you would like to cancel your flight(s), please proceed to WestJet.com/refundrequest to fill out the refund request form. That was Dec. 24th 6:00 am. I have still not heard from them and today is Dec. 29th, and trust me it is not from lack of trying on my part. I requested a call back on Dec. 24th and they are calling me back Dec. 30th. ******** messenger is useless would do nothing about my concerns, phone calls 4 hour waits on hold. Applied for the $1,000 from APPR and no response, don't even know if they got the request, no email that they received it. All I want is the price difference for what I originally paid and what I had to pay for a new flight (which I had to do myself because I can't get a hold of anyone to help). 49 hours later I did fill out the request for refund because I needed the money for my new flight and have to wait 3-5 days for it (only took them 2 minutes to take it). And do you want to know what part tee's me off the most is that we couldn't get there and yet my suitcase is in PVR and I had to go thru nightmares and stress for 2 days to find that out.

      My *********** had excellent service from Westjet. We were booked on a flight Nov 26th to ********. Very good flight going there, 9 great days on the beach and then my husband got a very bad case of pneumonia. He was hospitalized for 15 days in ******* hospital. ****** the Cuban supervisor for Westjet along with reps **** ******** made sure we were looked after. They made sure we had all necessities from toilet paper, water, calling cards etc.If you were ever in a ************** you would understand. Westjet staff was in contact with us regularly. We did receive excellent health care. On Dec 20th we were well enough to fly *************************** looked after us from the time we were discharged from the hospital until we landed in *******. Again l just want Westjet recognized for the great support my *********** received. Thank ******************************************

      Flight from ******* to ******* delayed but arrived prior to ******* connection departing terminal. Multiple passengers on our flight affected. Had the pleasure of watching luggage being loaded on the plane while being refused admittance along with the other passengers. All for 5 min difference literally. For a company that prides itself on customer service, big fail. Avoid this airline.

      Flew from ********** to ******* ** on December 22 for Christmas.Pilot stated all bags would be on flight after a 2 hour delay due to over fuelling the plane, weight restrictions, and pilot lateness. We flew on a prop. plane and watched bags load onto plane. No bags were off loaded from the plane upon landing in *******. 8 of us travelled together, 1 person received their luggage at the airport. There was no westjet staff at the airport to talk to, no means of contacting westjet via phone after being on hold for almost 7 hours. We currently have 3 kids with us, no Christmas presents, no clothing, no toiletries, and no medical prescriptions. Westjet has not provided any cost compensation, no information on our luggage whereabouts and no information on if or when our bags will arrive in time. We have returned to the air port 3 separate times for any type of update and not a single westjet staff member can be found to assist. We filled out the online baggage information and no one has been notified in 3 days of our stay. It is now Christmas Eve and we are scrambling trying to sort out how our family will provide Christmas morning to our kids. This is by far the worst airline service we have ever experienced! This was a 1.5 hour flight into a very small airport. And the fact that nothing is being done to accommodate is horrendous. I dont even want to leave a one star for a review.
