      Horrendous service. There are never any staff members to speak to. The company has the customer do all the check in work online, including scanning passports. Then you have to go to an agent to check in oversize bags anyways. Front desk was an hour late opening and the check in line was huge. Customers were furious. Apparently they didnt have enough staff. Its also ridiculous to charge families extra to sit together when they book tickets at the same time.

      Dated aircrafts, horrible service, rude staff, constantly delayed and/or cancelled flights without explanation. Zero accountability. High ticket prices. Honestly have no idea how these guys are still in business. Oh yes.. it's cause Canadians don't have many other options for carriers.

      Recently on Dec 24th my young Daughter who was supposed to fly to visit with me ran away from home. During this time of making many phone calls to family , friends and the police as well as being incredibly upset emotionally by the whole event I did not call West Jet and cancel the Flight. I did call West Jet on the Dec 26th and told them what happened. I was told that the missed flight was considered a No show and would not be returned to my travel bank for use at another time. I have been flying my daughter every school holiday to visit with me for 10 years with West Jet. Many thousands of dollars worth of flights and they have deemed this situation Unworthy of a refund. The complete lack of empathy shown here today is beyond belief to me. At this time I do not know where my daughter is but I do know that West Jet customer service just reached rock bottom.

      I wish I could leave 0 stars. On December 14th my husband and I had flights booked from ******** to ********, returning on the 18th. This was meant to be an early Christmas with our families. The weekend before we were set to leave we got a call that one of my husband's cousins passed away unexpectedly in his sleep. His funeral was set to be held on the 13th, and so we contacted WestJet and ******* (whom we booked the flights through) to try to change our flight to the 12th so we could attend. Unfortunately because of the specific package we purchased nothing was able to be done, so we purchased new one-way tickets for another $500 per person leaving on the 12th and planned to still fly home on our original** return flight on the 18th. However, because we did not board our original departing flight on the 14th (we were already in ******** at that point), the WestJet system automatically cancelled our return flights on the 18th. We were forced to purchase new tickets on the SAME FLIGHT back to ******** for twice as much as we had originally spent (another $500 per person). Because we booked through *******, WestJet is refusing to acknowledge their fault and claims there is nothing they can do, suggesting it was my fault that I had not familiarized myself with the proper protocol prior to booking a new fight, even though I had spoken to multiple people on the phone about trying to change my original flight where no one advised me to consider what might happen with my return flight on the 18th should I no-show on the 14th. Likewise, because the policy is with WestJet, ******* also refuses to do anything. Instead of the system automatically cancelling the return flight it SHOULD give 24 hours notice of cancellation so that customers have a chance to call and inform the airline whether they will be on that flight or not rather than blatantly disregarding the fact that life happens and circumstances change. Terrible company.

      When we flew home yesterday, I forgot my IPAD under the seat. I realized it when I got home and promptly filled out a lost and found claim. I phoned Westjet this morning, and talked to a very helpful REAL person who was very helpful. My IPAD had been found. Helpful, friendly staff!

      Our flight from ** to ******* was delayed, but we arrived . +30mins to make our connection to ****** **. The crew were great in letting us depart the aircraft before other customers to make our connection, and we arrived at the gate while everyone was still boarding (yayy!). HOWEVER when they scanned our tickets, they wouldn't let us board. Someone at Westjet DECIDED to remove us from the flight and give our seats away. We had boarding passes with seats assigned, and they decided to cancel them and rebook us on other flights. The crew first said it was due to connecting bags, but that was a lie, as the gentleman behind me only had a carryon and they denied him boarding as well. They said they didn't fill our seats, and we pleaded to let us board, but then another attended finally said that they did fill our seats. Worst part - no compensation! No apologies, no Westjet points, no food vouchers, and they denied my online claim for compensation. Shocked at the horrible customer care. They should not be allowed to just remove you from a flight, to make a few extra pennies. I will be canceling my Westjet Mastercard. What they did and their lack of empathy was simply appalling.

      Incredible service received by ****** in lost luggage department. Can not believe the lengths this woman went to in finding my bag!! Bad weather made my connection very tight and consequently my bag didn't make it and ****** went above and beyond to help me find it! Thank you Westjet!

      WestJet has sadly gone down hill, old uncomfortably seats, no tvs no wifi, and the stewardess/ stewards were so funny, now they are just a unhappy bunch of people who appear too not like their job..very sad

      Unfortunate that I can't leave zero star review. Purchased 4 tix to **** in July for departure late November. By the time November roles around, itinerary changed 3x, lengthening the lay over time going and returning and shortening the stay in **** from leaving at 2230 to leaving at 1600. That's significant simply because 10:30pm means a full day relaxing before heading to the airport. A 4:00pm departure means leaving accommodations at 1:00pm... not much relaxing on your last day. I would have dropped their rating to a 3 or 4 star based on the 3 itinerary changes alone, but let's not be kidding, I probably wouldn't have even left a review. But then departure for this quick, 1 week holiday arrives and we leave the gate at YEG for YYC to catch our flight to OGG. 2 hours later we return to the gate and flight us cancelled. Long story short, missed connection, put in hotel overnight and 3 flights later, arrive in **** 25 hours late. Make claim with them for compensation... DENIED... transponder failure is beyond their control. You guys s**k!!!

      We were single out as a family of four to check in our four carry on luggage, although there was clearly other carry on luggage larger in dimension then ours. Ours mean all the requirements. We have flown with West Jet over the last few years and this is the first incidence. This is on the ******* to ******** flight. The female check in attendant had announced prior to boarding several times she need four volunteers to check in there bags. No one volunteered so she announce again that "I will take away your carry on if they do not meet requriement" , if they are larger that the measuring device. My daughter has been using the same carry on for past 8 years with no incident on West Jet and *** ******. The wheels of her carryon got stuck in the measurement device so the check in attendant said that bag has to be checked. They she rudely insisted that our entire family had to put our bags into the device for measuring. We were in Zone 2 but ended up last in boarding after everyone else. I refused to give up on carryon because I had lots o medication with me. I believe she just saw a family of four and chose us to fill her requirements to have four carryon luggage checked. She mention that this was a smaller plane so no room in the overhead bins and she will get a supervisor to talk to me. After we took our seats, it was clear there was enough room to accommodate our carry on luggage. Bin 12 was empty and the other bins were loosely packed. Personally, l have never been treated so rudely and with disrespected. West Jet should hire people that have better customer service skills. This individual clearly lack in all levels. I know for a fact several people had bags that exceed all requirements but she did not ask those individuals to measure their bags. The check in attendant ruin the end of a fun vacation vacation!
