First time flying with Flair, round trip with a transfer to and direct flight back. Ended up stuck with a 30hr layover because they were 4 hours late, putting us right smack in middle of the *** snowstorm fiasco, which we could have avoided if they were on time in the first place. Flight back, they were again very much late. I ended up cancelling the flight and booked with AC, but later found out the Flair flight was again 30+ hours delayed. So one out of the three flights I had with them was on time! The service is generally pleasant enough if you get to board and fly. But from my experience, they are extremely unreliable, and not at all insignificant delays might I add. They also would not compensate for the initial flight delay because it was considered a safety maintenance issue. Will definitely avoid them in the future, even if it means paying more to fly with other airlines.Flair Airlines

I've reached out to customer support few months back. They had initially promised a small compensation but eventually took back what they said and essentially told me I was out of luck. I have not flown with Flair since, there's absolutely no accountability on their part.Review fromFrank A

1 starI made my reservation through an online discount company (First mistake). Flair was one of two airlines that was scheduled in my booking. The flight was uneventful and 20 minutes ahead of schedule, it was the preflight check in that was most upsetting. We got to the airport and waited in line to check in (Second mistake). When we got to the teller, her first question was whether we had checked in in advance because if she checked us in it would cost an extra $25 per person for her to check us in!?!?!? I've looked over my online contract after purchasing the tickets and I don't see that clause yet, maybe I've overlooked it. I find these flights squeezing every last dollar out of us, every chance they get to be absolutely shameful.Review fromPaul G

First email received for delay:"delayed due to a CONTROLLABLE late arrival of the aircraft from the previous station. Your new itinerary and flight information is attached and the new time of departure is 21:00 local time."Second email regarding delay."delayed due to (CONTROLLABLE) crewing restriction. Your new itinerary and flight information is attached and the new time of departure is 22:00 local time."3rd delay was when we boarded at 10pm and only left *** ********** around 12 in the evening.--Delay was caused when Flair couldn't count and get the passenger manifest correct. We even had to disembark again and board as they needed to do a recount. This took almost two (2) hours to do so.Flair Airlines

1 starI paid for flights for a group of 6 passengers. One of them was sick so I told the airline to cancel the flight for that passenger. As many others will tell you, Flair will not give out refund even if you cancel.BUT IT GETS WORSE - YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY THEM EVEN MORE MONEY!!!Because the passenger who is not flying has the baggage payments attached to their name, the baggage you ALREADY paid for, and NOT REFUNDED, CAN NOT be transferred to another passenger who is flying. 1 star**** travelled Flair upon a number of occasions and the experiences have been nothing short of excellent.. But, on this last escapade, if there was a no-star review option here, it would be selected.On Jan. 2, our return flight out of ******** was cancelled and rescheduled for Jan. 6.. Okay, stuff happens.. The subsequent emails from Flair offered this We're sorry about the change to your travel plans. We'd like to offer you and everyone in your reservation complimentary hotel accommodations and meal vouchers. Well, virtual chats with a robot were as usual, a moronic waste of time. Over the course of the next couple of days, inquiry emails went unanswered. Two phone call-backs came at least ******************************************************************************* the middle of the night from an ill-informed, rote-answer spewing distant call centre. Both uselessly unhelpful. The hotel recompense was to be for an airport hotel but we wished not to stay 4 nights out there twiddling our toes, so we stayed with friends downtown and slept on their couch/floor. Now, the second callback individual did state that we would receive compensation for $500/person but that we had to use a voucher that she would email us. It, and the food vouchers, never came. We were also never able to establish what the value of the hotel stays and the food vouchers being offered were. We submitted all the meal receipts upon returning home and then just received $70 in total for one meal!!!! Seriously!! 2 rooms for 4 nights (for which vouchers were never sent saving Flair $$$, plus various meals .. and the entire recompense refund totals 70 bucks !! Flair airport and flight staff are great. Flair corporate are evasive fraudsters. Flair refused my compensation request for a flight that was delayed 6 hours and 55 minutes. Their own email indicated that the delay was within airlines control. When I pointed this out they said that it was a safety issue. It wasnt a safety issue it was a staffing issue which is not grounds for compensation refusal, and they indicated that right in their email notification. I mean I expect flights to be occasionally late but to completely ignore the ******** ********************* guidelines around compensation when this happens is arrogance at its finest. They should have their charter revoked.Flair Airlines

Scheduled me for another flight, 3 days later, which DID NOT fit with my schedule and one week later still have not received a refund of the originally cancelled flight. 1 starFlair is the WORST airline I've ever flown with. They cancel your flight with little to no notice. Then they book you on a flight that is a week or longer away. So then you have to call and be put on hold for hours. And the flights are all sold out that you want to take. We had to travel to a further airport just to get on a flight that was the next day. LET ALONE, they gave us attitude when we asked for a cup of water as that is not complimentary. WATER. The seats do not recline, no power outlets, and the air quality is garbage. This is a BUDGET airline, and the saying goes you pay for what you get. Please book with someone else if you want to get to your destination on time or comfortably.
