CBV Collections has not returned any call I make to them wrt a collections account that has been paid in full. It is still showing on credit checks and has not been reported. I would like CBV to confirm with proof that they are reporting the debt paid in full.Business Response

CBV can confirm the account in question was paid in full February 3, 2023. CBV notified the credit reporting agency of this change in status via electronic data transfer within 145 working days of the payment date.
Our contact confirms the account is showing as 'paid in full". The consumer should forward a copy of the credit report showing contrary information so we may escalate the investigation accordingly.

The consumer has not sent a copy of the credit report where they claim to see an erroneous entry. Without this we are unable to continue.
Our records show the credit reporting agency was informed of the status change to the account. CBV has no control on how long it may take the reporting agency to update their records. However, as stated before, if the consumer would provide a copy of the reporting we would escalate to our contact for investigation.

I am rejecting this response because: the credit report has been submitted, same as attachment here. Clearly CBVs left hand doesnt communicate with the right hand. If they cant communicate within their business, how can I trust they will report the payment in full? It has been paid in full for sometime but still reads nothing on the report.

If the consumer refuses to submit the copy of the credit file report that is causing the issue to this forum (for continuity purposes) there is nothing more we can do.

The consumer's issue is with the credit bureau member, ******* (member number **********). The debt in question had been assigned to ******* in the past and it appears they have not updated the record.
The consumer should contact the agency of record, *******, for assistance. He should provide the credit report documentation for their review, and a copy of the payment letter issued by CBV to assist in a speedy resolution.

We have located the debt in question. The account was paid to CBV on October 4, 2023. Our records indicate the consumer initiated the payment via credit card.
The account status has been updated to paid in full via electronic data transfer to the credit bureau(s). CBV cannot control how quickly the credit reporting agency will update the consumer's actual credit report.

If the consumer is not liable for the debt why did they pay it? If the consumer has no relationship with CBV, why was the payment issued to us on behalf of the creditor?
CBV believes the sole motivation for the complaint is to force removal of the derogatory debt reference on the consumers credit file. CBV will not remove the reference to this debt.

Hi I was told by ****** mobile that cbv collections has been reporting an account in my name from 2010 up to 4-6 months ago according to them. They said this is preventing me from being able to open a new account with them. They said since its past 7 years they don't have any information other than the balance and the collection agency wouldn't have it either but the sent a message that I should call them to clear the balance. I have the transcript from the conversation but its not a download I would have to forward it to you guys or copy and past it but this window only allows **** more characters. I have taken the opportunity to review the supplied commentary in detail and can offer some insight to the complainants concerns. CBV purchased a debt from the original creditor, ****** Wireless, on July 7, 2016. The details of that debt are below:

There is an outstanding debt on my credit score to CBV collections that has already been paid. **** ** ****** ***** *** ** *** ******* ** ****** ****** I have a letter that states the file number ******** has been closed and paid in full. The letter is dated September 22, 2021. The file number matches the number on my credit score. The debt on my score is dated in 2020. I cant be the only one who is being charged for the same debt more than once. This company is stealing from people. This is the third time they have tried to collect the same debt. That is why I had them make the letter for me stating the debt has been paid. The first time they tried I paid them. The second time they tried I had them send me a letter saying it was paid so they stopped trying for a while. Now theyre at it again with the same debt and its damaging my credit score. I keep getting calls from various people claiming they are from CBV Collection Services telling me they are calling on behalf of ******** *******. They keep asking me to verify private information, such as my address and date of birth. They will not tell me what the matter is involving. They are rude, won't answer my questions about what this is concerning and then they start yelling at me. This is totally unacceptable and disrespectful. I've told them that in the past I had a speeding ticket, but that this ticket has already been paid directly to the ********** ****** ** ********. I had a lady call again today (September 11, 2023), asking me for personal information, and after I refused told me I MUST answer her questions for my personal information, she was yelling, talking over me, and trying to bully me into giving her my personal information - I still refused. I asked what this was concerning and she said her client was ******** *******. I told her once again if this is about a ticket, that it had already been paid directly to ******** ******* - I went in person to the court house and paid it myself. She called me a liar and said the matter is in collections and I need to answer her questions. I told her the matter with ******** ******* has been dealt with directly and I don't know who she is or what she wants and she needs to stop calling and harassing me. I get at least 5-6 calls a day, starting at 7:00 a.m. all through the day. I have no other tickets or anything with ******** *******, so I don't know what she is talking about. She is verbally *******, demanding and *******, and this is totally unacceptable and I would imagine illegal? How can someone keep calling, verbally abusing me, bullying, and harassing me for something I have no idea what they are talking about, and will not answer my questions, on top of demanding personal information from me? THEY CALL ME SOMWTIMES 4 OR 5 TIMES A DAY EVERY DAY FROM.MULTIPLE NUMBERS! When I answer they hang up, and the only reason I know it's CBV is because I call it back. I have zero collections issues, there is no reason for them to call me, they never leave messages when I don't answer and have never, mot once, ever replied when I answer the call.
