1 star** ** **** ******** ** ***** * ****** * ****** Transunion does a wonderful job at giving you a free credit check, followed by a $26/month charge for their service. The problem is that I tried to cancel the service upon reviewing my credit rating. My login credentials (which are store on a secure password manager) for Transunion did not work. I attempted the password reset option and was denied for "not having the right information". The security questions that were asked to secure my account were not answered in setting up the account, so the password reset option is built to fail.
I tried multiple times in the past few months to reset the password both through the password reset option and phoning the toll-free number. When I finally reached an agent (after 4 attempts of busy lines) I was told that they "couldn't cancel my account due to system errors" and to call back later. I asked to be transferred to a different agent or manager to work on resolving the issue, and was told that they are "unable to transfer calls" and that I would have to either call back, or wait for the system to resolve and have this particular agent call me back. In what world are customer service calls unable to be escalated due to system issues?
I called back and reached another agent who said that they have cancelled the account and that I would receive an email showing my cancellation. This email has not come through, so I suspect it is not cancelled and as I still have no way to log into my account I will have to wait to see if I get billed in the following payment cycle.
I am not even asking for a refund, I just want to cancel the account.

1 starI once had free credit monitoring after one of my credit card companies was hacked. Since then I cannot access free online services (such as requesting my credit report) as the site recognizes me as a former premium customer and continually redirects me to the paid site. I had to call because incorrect information was listed on my credit record (wrong birthday) and I could not access the credit report online. It took multiple phone calls to different agents, most of whom did not understand the problem and who were not able to help me. *** ** **** ***** ** ** ** ** ** ******* * *** ** ****** I was eventually told to request the change of information by mail, which I did. I also requested a copy of my credit report this way. Months later I received a letter confirming that my information had been updated, with the recommendation that I request my credit report through the online service that I cannot access. I have never received the credit report (consumer disclosure) as requested. This has been the most frustrating set of interactions I have had with any company.Review fromCory D

1 starTransunion has been very difficult to deal with involving the fraudulent claims on my account (confirmed as fraud by *******). Their so called "investigation" was not an investigation by any means as they simply called the collections company and asked if the information was accurate. Of course the collections company assumed it was, so after waiting 30 days for this ***** response from the hour of work they put into my claim, they told me that I was not able to file another dispute on the matter and would simply not help me. It is concerning to me that a company that is responsible for everyone's credit reports does not have an actual investigations department or team to appropriately deal with these matters as fraud becomes ever more prolific in these times. Their team members that I had the displeasure of dealing with all seem to have the same inappropriate training, as all of their responses to the matters I brought up were very similar to eachothers and generic responses, as if I wasn't even talking to real people. Thanks for making a stressful time even worse Transunion.Review fromSarah I

1 starI have no clue how the Canadian government is allowing such a company to continue operating. They lied on the Canadian government website saying my report would be free and then automatically used my information to add me to a monthly subscription and have been charging me. They *** *** ******* *** claim to help with fraud. the Canadian government site recommended them to give a free credit check so I filled out my information and asked for a free credit check and now I am being charged monthly. I don't see any way to unsubscribe on their site and they are not responding to my calls and the email address they use has no response option. I emailed and received a no delivery. This is just awful. * *** *** *** ******* ****** **** * ****** **** ***** ****** ***** **** ***** *** ***** ***** ** ** ** ****** **** *** *** ******. And here on this review site when I am trying to read the Customer Review Submission Terms, the link is giving me a message saying too many requests.Review fromPj K

1 star** ****** They do not support you unless you’re willing to pay them or give them your social insurance number. They are required by law to offer an online access to credit report. Their system says it’s temporarily unavailable and make you call two different access points to only be told that unless you give your social insurance number to a random person you will be denied this report.
I have no way of verification of their security measures. Yet they want me to give away all my information freely.Review fromJulie M

1 starThe worst customer service ever. Try to call - sit on hold forever and never get anyone on the line. Try the "one of our agents will text you" option - you get a bot that is of zero help. Try the online option of submitting a dispute - doesn't work. Got nothing but "page not found" error. You cannot email anything to this company either. It is disturbing my financial institution is using them for credit checks.Review fromCourtney M

1 starTransUnion is the most *******, *********** company I've ever had to deal with.
They currently have two different peoples credit reports, reporting under both reports.
Two people, with the same Name and DOB, are showing the same credit report.
We have filed MULTIPLE disputes with them, they simply do not care. We've disputed the phone numbers, the addresses, the lines of credit, the credit cards, the mortgage showing under this credit report. We have called countless times, only to get a representative who doesn't understand, who doesn't care, who will not help with this situation. This has created so much stress and a huge burden because of their mistake. Equifax has repeatedly reported correctly from the beginning, and TransUnion has been wrong the entire time. **** *** ******** ******** *** ***** * ***** *** **** **** *** ****** *** * **** ** **** **** * ** ***** ** **** **** ******* DO NOT RECOMMEND.Review fromChristine P

So I phoned the number was on hold for two hours asked lots of personal information to verify who I was but apparently a credit card company had made an address I've never lived at as my primary address I was told that on my 5 the phone call to them and all my information is in India I'm so distraught with all this ,*** ******* ****** **** *** ******* ** ** *** ****** ****** ,and still not resolved my issue in the mean time my personal files are put there. 1 starEvery few months, I take a look at my credit report/score from Transunion. Each time, it is a pain to access the free report and it is hidden behind a lot of "pay now" and "subscribe now" prompts. This time, it is telling me to log out and log back in to view the information - this doesn't work. So I am stuck looking at their ads while I wait for the agent. My understanding is that we are entitled to check our credit once every month (used to be once per year) by law (?) I assume the government subsidizes this. So us taxpayers are paying for this? *** ** **** *********** ** ** **** *** ******** ** ** *********** **** ***** ***** *** ****** ******* ** *** ** ********* **** ** **** ******* ******** **** *****
