I paid for a service, to deliver a package purchased elsewhere. Canada Post is refusing to provide the service I paid for - this is textbook fraud. They are holding my property hostage for their own personal gain, also textbook theft.I have filed a complaint with them, ticket number **********.I chatted online with customer service, trying to find a resolution to get my property back, but the only thing they offer is, sorry for the inconvenience. And as I was writingthis, I got a call from customer service from ********************** (*******) and we chatted about the whole situation, and they tried negotiating to get what is on the floor delivered and that was shut down. This is criminal! In what world can a business be paid for a service, refuse to provide paid service and on top of that, hold people's property hostage for their personal gain? This is my last effort to do this cordially. If I don't get a resolution soon, meaning Canada Post does not deliver what is on the floor immediately, I will move to filing a police report, and recommend everyone else in this boat to do the same. There are thousands of Canadians, in the same situation, and others around the world who have paid for a service not being fulfilled and their property unlawfully ********** needs to prevail here. Both parties have made it clear, the customer doesn't matter, nor does the law. What can BBB do to help this situation?Business Response

The ********************************(****) announced a national strike on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 12:******. ET. Canada Post's operations have shut down during this national strike, affecting millions of Canadians and businesses across the country.
Customers will experience delays due to strike activity. Mail and parcels will not be processed nor delivered for the duration of the national strike, and some post offices will be closed. Service guarantees will be impacted for the items already in the postal network. No new items will be accepted until the national disruption is over. Items will be delivered as quickly as possible once operations resume.
All mail and parcels in the postal network will be secured and delivered on a first-in, first-out basis once operations resume. However, a national strike of any length will impact service to Canadians well after the strike activity ends. Shutting down facilities across the country will affect Canada Post's entire national network. Processing and delivery may take some times to fully return to normal.

I am rejecting this response because:
Canada Post is withholding mail and parcels that do not belong to Canada Post for their own personal benefits.
The property Canada Post is withholding is not theirs to withhold.
Refusing to give me back my property is both fraud and theft.
ALL content of the floor needs to be delivered to people immediately.
Continue your strike all you want but you need to deliver what is on your floor.
I would be open to picking up, myself, everything that belongs to my address directly at the ********* local, including my parcel that is stuck in transit from ***
If Canada Post refuses to give me my property back, I will file a report for fraud and theft with the police.
Sincerely,

Unfortunately, with the current strike of the ********************************, Canada Posts operations have ceased. No mail nor parcels will be processed nor delivered during this time.
Please know that all mail and parcels are secure in our network and will be delivered as soon as possible upon the resumption of operations on a first-in, first-out basis. That being said, it may take some time for processing and delivery to return to normal.

I am rejecting this response because:Canada post has a contractual obligation to it's customers. You have been paid to deliver all of the parcels being held hostage.
This is unacceptable business practice. Every parcel currently in transit should be refunded as you have NOT provided the service you have been paid for.
Any other business would be held accountable for taking people's money +for expedited services, no less) with no intention of meeting your delivery standard.
Parcels that are were in transit when the strike began should have been delivered. I cannot afford to replace the items in the parcel (Christmas presents ordered well in advance) currently being held hostage in your postal system.
I Will not accept this. Perhaps a class action suit is needed from all those affected by your corruption and greed.
Sincerely,
****** *******Customer Answer

So they are just allowed to keep things they have contractually agreed to deliver for an extended period of time?
Good faith is not holding people's hard earned money hostage.
The fact that Canada is allowed to s**** it's residents at will is absolutely disgusting.

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding Canada Posts delayed delivery and lack of communication regarding a high-value shipment. On November 12, 2024, I shipped an item sold on ******* via Canada Post, selecting the expedited parcel option to ensure delivery within the same week. However, 9 days have passed since the shipment date, and the package has still not been delivered. The recipient has been waiting for the item but will be traveling outside the country in early December. I contacted Canada Post and created a service ticket, but I have not received any response. The recipient also reached out to Canada Post and was informed about a potential option to pick up the package at her nearest warehouse. However, no one has followed up or provided clear guidance. This situation is extremely concerning, as the recipient will not return to Canada until January, and the itemvalued at nearly $2,000may be undelivered for an extended period, causing unnecessary stress and inconvenience.I am seeking the BBBs assistance to ensure Canada Post prioritizes this matter and delivers the package as soon as possible. You should stop the strike and deliver all delayed packages immediately. This situation is completely unacceptable.

My son and I are set to travel on the 21st of November 2024, we have a **** appointment on the 19th of November 2024. We called numerous times to CanadaPost and we have been given the cold shoulder in regards to our request, we need to travel for a funeral and I need to be present for my daughters funeral. We called and chatted with numerous people from CanadaPost and were told that the travel document would be ready on Friday 15 November 2024 after 1pm which when we got to the postoffice we were notified that the postman/postwoman was supposed to leave the mail the evening of the 14th in preparation of the morning of Friday 15 November 2024 but they chose to drive back to the depot with my Travel document. As it is we are now suffering from hypertension, chest pains and suicidal thoughts as we cannot understand how the person that was supposed to deliver the mail failed to do their job on Thursday 14th November 2024. We are reaching out pleading that we be heard as changing flights, ****** and funeral arrangements will be more money that we do not have.Business Response

Hi there
The situation has not been resolved, I have had to spend more money to reschedule our airline ticket. I would like Better Business Bureau to request Canada Post to reimburse me all the money spent on changing my travel plans.
I have spent $600.00 changing our airline ticket and Canada Post has refused to allow me to go pick up my travel document and yet they are able to deliver other mail but not my travel document.
I am now under a lot of stress and anxiety not knowing what to do.
kind regards

We are truly sorry for the inconvenience the labour disruption is having on your travel plans and the costs incurred. As mentioned, Canada Post is unable to retrieve an item during a labour disruption.
Unfortunately guarantees and claims for late items are waved as per the Canada Post Terms and Conditions during a labour disruption.
Continue to visit our website for the latest information on negotiations and updates on strike activity. Please share this link with the Airlines as they may adjust your incurred costs as it was no fault of your own for the document delay.

Canada Post Reference Number: ******** Canada Post Ticket Number: ********** In late August, 2024, I had set up mail forwarding as I was moving in September. On Sept 16, I called Canada Post to amend the dates of the request. I was told that the Mail Forwarding hadn't been completely set up as there was a problem with the forwarding address. Although I entered the address correctly on Canada Post's website, the system automatically changed the address to "SS 56" or something similar. The representative I spoke with on the phone stated that I would have to cancel the services and call back once completed to request a refund. Again, on Sept 16, I cancelled the services using the Canada Post website and called in once completed. I spoke with someone and was told that a ticket would be opened and once it was reviewed and completed, I would be issued a refund to my credit card. I later received a confirmation email (Sept 16) stating "Dear Customer,We wish to inform you that the necessary actions to resolve your Mail Forwarding or Hold Mail issue have been completed and the Service Ticket has been closed."I believed that this was the confirmation email I was told about by the representative that I spoke ******* is now October 9 and I have not yet been issued a refund. I have called in numerous times and spoken via chat on the Canada Post website and I continue to get the runaround asking me to call back at a later time or that I have to speak with someone else regarding the request for my refund.I have not received any forwarded mail from my previous address, the services were cancelled, and my credit card has not been refunded for the transaction as promised. Hi, I paid Canada Post $60.64 to Hold Mail Service effective from July 17 to August 16 2024. Hold Mail Service address is: 11448 93 ST NW, Edmonton, Alberta. T5G 1C4. My Notification number to Hold Mail Service is 98885561. During this period they should not deliver any mail under all names. I was going on vacation and this is why I paid for Hold Mail Service. Before I paid for the service online, I spoke to an agent in this regard and the agent also promised that no mails will be delivered within the time frame I will request. Unfortunately, one of the agent's from Canada Post delivered a parcel within the hold time and the sad part is the agent delivered the package to a wrong address. This is the tracking number 7321315597190324. I opened a case with Canada Post and the ticket number is 0157117684. One of the Supervisor's from Canada Post Edmonton called me and apologized that they made a mistake to deliver the package while it was still on Hold Mail and he also aplogized that the package was delivered to a wrong address. He asked me to call Customer Service on 1-888-267-1177 and ask for full refund. When I called them no one is trying to help me out. They asked to call back the supplier and create a case item never delivered. When I contacted the seller, upon checking the tracking number 7321315597190324 on Canada Post, the seller said, the item has been delivered. The seller also said they don't care the item delivered to the correct address or not, that is something Canada Post has to deal with not the seller. So the Canada Post Customer Service agents don't try to help me out here. I request Better Business Bureau to please look into my complain, Canada Post is at fault, I need my full refund of $60.64 and $17.66 for the items lost or delivered to a wrong address. The total payment I made was $78.30. I have attached necessary documents in this case for you to consider. Thank you.
