PRA Group Canada is trying to collect on behalf of *** for somebody named *****.They are calling a phone that is owned by *************, one of the health authorities in **. I've already told *** about this, and just told them again. *** continues calling, despite me letting all parties they were unfortunately given a false number. I see multiple complaints citing daily calls. I get /multiple/ daily calls, all from differing numbers so I can't even block them. The once or twice I've bothered attempting to respond, I receive radio silence. There is absolutely no reason a legitimate business would need to do this. I would almost believe these are scam calls posing as this business, yet the sheer volume of other complaints suggests to me that this is, for some reason, normal for this alleged 'business'. I am receiving repeated calls from this company about an account that was paid in full and closed in 2000. When told this on the phone, the representative got upset and hung up. They said that I told them last year that the debt had been consolidated and that I would get back to them, however, that is not true as it was my daughter on the phone that day (which she told them!) and nothing of what she said should have even been noted on the account as it is not in her name and she had no knowledge of any debts (which this is not). I had my bank do a credit check less than 6 months ago and this debt does not appear as PRA Group is insisting (very rudely, I might add). Also, the statute of limitations on debt in Canada is 6 years after the last payment was made, and since this account was closed in 2000 (as they said on the phone), this is long past that timeframe even if money was still owed (which it is not). Please stop calling the phone number on this complaint as it is harassment at this point.Business Response

This company PRA Group calls a phone number many times a week. Please STOP Calling. This company is calling me daily from various phone numbers and leaving voicemails with either no talking or an automated voice. The one time I answered a call a very rude operator demanded personal information then proceeded to tell me I owed money from over 20 years ago for a company that is no longer in business and that was paid and in good standing years ago. It is just harassment at this point and I wish for all contact from this company to cease and desist and personal information removed from their systems.Business Response

*** calls my phone basically daily for the last 6 months or more. Every time I answer there is a robotic voice that says this call is for _____ the name of someone I dont know, and then they hang up. Theres no human or ability for me to tell them they have the wrong information. I have blocked the numbers almost every call and they never stop. Sometimes they call me at 8am. As with the hundreds of other complaints on the BBB they need to STOP calling me NOW. This is so far beyond harassment, how they can be in business is beyond me.Business Response

PRA has called me multiple times a day for years from different numbers. I have no need to communicate with them. I have blocked hundreds of numbers now. Voicemails have been left and it is an auto robo voice. This is beyond harrassment. There are no collections on my *********** Credit Report. I've delt with them before, extremely unprofessional and rude. They keep calling and automatically hangs up when I answer or leaves voicemails daily with no message. I had a **** product they long story short told Me I had payed it off waited a year then tried to fraud my bank. They apparently sold that fraud debt to PRA group Canada recently. The **** issue was 11 years ago.Business Response
