** *** ***** ****** **** *** ** **** ** **** ** * **** ***** **** ******* ** *** **** I got to listen to the plumber brag on his phone when finishing up the job, that I supplied the cartridge, that he was making bank on this job. I didn't realize how simple replacing the shower cartridge would be so I foolishly signed up with this company to get the work done. I thought I had negotiated a fairer price of $450 but then they came back a year later demanding $400 more! I eventually paid more to get rid of them. * **** ***** **** **** ******* ** ** *****

So, two days before Christmas your toilet's plugged and none of the usual remedies work.
We called Superior Plumbing. They arrived within a few hours, diagnosed the problem, which was just about the worst it could be, and dealt with it quickly. There was excellent follow through and communications from the office throughout the day and half it took to ream out the pipes and install a new toilet. Not what I wanted for Christmas, but we appreciated the professionalism and friendliness of the technicians who fixed it for us.

This was totally free, as there is a lifetime warranty by the company who makes them. Unfortunately, even new out of the box it was defective. That said, my spouse called Superior Plumbing. The plumber worked “Less than One hr.” to change this cartridge. Then left us a bill for $450.00, add tax, now we are at $508.00. For what? No heads up on a quote? I called to speak with a manager about this , now for two days waiting, and guess what? Terrible Experience/ ***** ******* ******* ******** Called to have a toilet leak repaired for a tenant. The plumber called and told me the flange needed to be replaced and the toilet needed to be leveled. The estimate was 1300$!!!!! I immediately asked for an itemized list and estimate. I asked the plumber for the cost of the repair kit. He said he didn't know and needed to ask the company. I'm not sure how he got the quote without knowing the approximate price. He then said in stores that it's approximately 150-200$ and that the 1100$ is for labour plus thier experience. Its absolutely ridiculous!!! The estimate even says they need two people to complete and the cost also includes caulking.
Got a second opinion from a local plumber *** ** ******* ** *** ****** In fact, after seeing the photos, he said he didn't need to come out and that I could repair it myself. Took 15$ just to replace the wax ring. The flange did not need to be repaired. And the toilet was perfectly leveled afterward. 15$$$$$$ that's it. ******** I paid 99$ for the plumber to come out. The company offered 30$ refund for a review. They are buying reviews. A real company's work should speak for itself. The repair was cheaper than the call out.
      Take away points:
      1. Always ask for an itemized list in the estimate
      2. Get a second opinion if you feel you are getting taken advantage of
      3. Do your research!!!!

We asked Superior Plumbing and Heating (Ottawa) for a quote to repair our toilet, which has a malfunction involving the flush handle, tank lever and the tank flapper. The flapper was not closing properly, so the tank was not filling, instead the water was being wasted down the drain. I have 2 comments related to this company and the work done. (1) After conducting an inspection, the technician quoted the "job" price as $395.00 ($200 down payment). When the job was completed, after about 2 hours of work replacing the fill valve, overfill pipe and flapper, and I paid the balance of the invoice, I checked the price of the new parts installed, about $30, and the labour rates for Ontario plumbers, using the median of $30/hr, and estimated that parts and labour would be about $90. Before he left, I asked the technician why I needed to pay the other $310, and I was told that estimates are for "jobs" (not work), which includes company overhead such as vehicle costs and administration. I believe that including these extra costs in the price of specific work is considered an inappropriate business practice. (2) The technician, despite the work he completed, could not stop the problem, the cause being a faulty handle and lever, which he noted could not be replaced because our toilet is too old. Instead, he recommended we purchase a new toilet, for about $1100. I declined and released him. I see that BBB has received similar negative comments about this company, which is rated 1.9 stars out of 5 by reviewers. I would appreciate a reply to my comments from Superior Plumbing and Heating (Ottawa). Thank you. Tim M, Ottawa, 16Oct2023

TLDR: They overcharged, I had to chase them to complete the work, they tried to buy me off to take down my review, they sent someone to my house when they knew I was not home and had someone take a picture of my girlfriend.
Full story: I had my water heater spring a leak and after calling around to a few places they were the only one that could do the job that day, I knew I was being over charged but I needed hot water so I went with them. After doing the job they did not remove the water heater which was part of the quote. I called them everyday for a week until they finally sent a random scrapper to my house to take the water heater, after that I left a 2 star review on ****** because of the price and the difficulty to get them to finish the job I paid for, they called me and offered me 300$ to take down the bad review and because I didnt really care I said ok, I would take down the review after the money hit my account. They wanted me to take down the review before I got the money but I said no. Then when I was working on a Saturday they said they wanted to give me a check, I told them I wanted it to go straight to my credit card but eventually I caved and said I would take the check. I told them I was not home and to leave it in my mailbox. They sent someone to my house who went and banged on my door a bunch of times until my girlfriend finally answered, at which point the guy gave her the check and told her he needed to take a picture of her holding it for proof. Now keep in mind, this is a random guy at my house, with knowledge of me not being there saying he needs to take a picture of her, **** ****** ******** **** ********.
This company managed to overcharge me, cause me extra headaches and make my girlfriend feel uncomfortable in her own home.
      By far the worst experience I've ever had with a company *** * ***** ***** ** *** ******

We have a tenant renting our basement apartment, so when our A/C crashed, it was very urgent that we had the situation rectified asap. We reached out to Superior , who had someone come over the same day to have a look. We were told the A/C needed replacing ( fair enough as it was 20 years old). We were informed Superior offers a payment plan and that we could pay 50% up front and talk with the office about scheduling the balance in equal payments. We got a quote for $6,500 in total. We were in a bit of a bind about the cost, but were informed they would come on the same day to install the new unit.
      Here are the frustrating issues:
      (1) The installation guy/s acted as if they did not want to be there
      (2) The main guy refused to give us the service manual for the new unit, saying we don't need it and that it was too complex for us to understand.
      (3) We have so far emailed this company on 4 occasions asking for the manual and they have not provided it to us.
      (4) In order to have the installation done, they had to remove the wash tub in the furnace room. When we asked them to reconnect it after, they told us we needed to call the office for an appointment!. When we called , we were informed reconnecting the wash tub was viewed as an entirely separate request and they will charge us $500 to do so ( or was it $700 ). Needless to say, we informed them that we will get it done ourselves.
      (5) When the installation was completed, we called the office to discuss paying off the remaining $ 3250 in instalments. We were informed we had the pay it out then and there and that they do not offer repayment plans.
      CONCLUSION:
We are still awaiting the service manual for the unit, as well as an apology from them *** ***** ****************** This experience has left "a bitter taste in our mouths" *** ** ********* ************ **** ****** ** ***** ***** ****** ******* **** *****

Firstly , I contacted what I thought was a local St Catharines company it was the Mississauga branch dispatched to provide a quote for a slow leak from our 50 gallon electric hot water tank. Daniel from Superior arrived about 6,:10 p.m.
The quote with taxes was $4054.44.
My heart sank re cost but was worried small leak could become even bigger . I Was asked to provide 50% deposit which went on charge card.
Minutes after he left to drive back to GTA from Niagara , checked the BBB for reviews *** ** *** *** *** *** * ********* ******* ** ** ****. Overcharge and poor workmanship from what has been written
No itemized invoice re actual cost of tank etc and when reading small print on proposal noted a clause that states " there is a non refundable deposit 25% of the total investment before taxes. "
What investment ? Investing in a company that did not perform the he install.
Did not have this pointed out nor did I initial that I had read. With this we chose not to do business and contacted the receptionist to cancel our installation scheduled for today.
Spoke with supervisor , Jason , this a.m and was told the 25% would be $ 897.00
Informed him that there would be no such amount paid and offered $500.00
Hard lesson learned for us re our naivety and lack of research.
No reimbursement will be made until Superior refunds the deposit of $ 2027.22 to our credit card.
A transaction dispute has been initiated with our credit card .

** * ***** ***** * ***** * ****** *** ******* **** **** ** ** ***** ******* ** ****** ** *** **** ****** ********** *** ********* *** ********** *** *******. He changed the price of the work three times before we asked him to leave. He ********** ** ******* *** refused to leave when I asked him to and just stood in the doorway yelling at my husband. He sat in his van in front of our house in a menacing and confrontational way for an extended period of time and then came back up to the door twice to berate us for not choosing him to do our work. I will call the police if he returns. Someone from the company called me 3 times while I was on the phone with another plumber, but oddly did not leave a message.
I find the plumber's attitude and behaviour to be b*** ************** *** unwarranted. Whoever the employee was that kept calling us was also extremely rude. It took 3 phone calls, 3 days in a row to get the information to pay for our "service call", although no service was provided. And since the company will not provide this plumber's name I have no recourse but to complain about the company rather than the individual responsible but everyone should be aware that the so called plumbers are behaving in such an egregious manner.

Overall experience was great. Plumber arrived on time, he called us prior arrival and we explained him the issue. Luckily he had required parts in his truck and we got our water heater fixed on the same day. They did warn though due to the age( our tank is 20 years old) , issue might come back and we would have to look for possibly replacing it.
