In May 2023 I called Reliance and spoke to someone because I was selling my house and needed to close our account. I let them know that as of June 30th, 2023, the new owner's would be taking over the payments. This was for an air conditioner that we had purchased through Reliance and they were making automatic withdrawals from our account. Well, it seems like the message didn't get passed on to whoever takes care of stopping these things or updating the "files", because in July 2023, they tried to withdraw funds from an account that didn't have much funds and was going to be closed soon anyway. Not only in July ($146.65) which actually went through, but August ($146.65) which was returned, they skipped September, twice in October ($140.92 and $198.88), then November ($309.82!!) My bank officer was super nice and refunded me the $45 I kept getting dinged when Reliance tried to take the funds. Then for a whole year, I heard nothing, I thought great until I got a call from a lady ** *** **** **** ****** ****** ***** - Reliance has put me in collections!! They say I owe them $419. I owe them nothing. I gave them plenty of notice and I even let the July payment to them go (my fault I wasn't checking up on this account very often. I told the lady this same story and said I owe them nothing and they need to get a hold of the new owners. Now she's calling me again today. It's been 2 years Reliance - I don't owe you anything. We understand that you contacted us in May 2023 regarding the closure of your account and the transfer of responsibility to the new homeowners. We regret that there was a miscommunication in processing this request. When a property is sold and the new homeowners wish to assume responsibility for the HVAC rental agreement, rental assumption documents must be completed and signed to officially transfer the contract. This ensures the billing and service obligations are correctly assigned to the new owner.
If the assumption documents are not finalized, the rental account will remain under the previous homeowner’s name, and billing may continue accordingly. We would like the opportunity to investigate this matter further to ensure a proper resolution. Hi ******. I'll send you a copy of the agreement of purchase and sale. You will see that on page 2 paragraph 6 is highlighted that says the hot water tank and air conditioner are being assumed by the buyer. This is the proof that the buyer took over the contract.Review fromAmandeep D

Had a new furnace installed in December at that time my A/C was working fine , apparently all the coolant was removed and not put back in ,when I went to use ,it was not working ,I called last Tuesday May 27th have not had a return call ,I had to have someone come out and add coolant at a cost of $500.Reliance Home Comfort

**** ******* ** * ******** **** ********** When I bought my house, I was explicitly told I was entering a 7-year contract for a tankless water heater, boiler, and AC handler. That was the deal—no ambiguity. But despite repeated calls and follow-ups for the actual contract, they dodged me for months.
Now, seven months later, they suddenly drop the bombshell that I’m not in a 7-year agreement, but instead on some ***** month-to-month plan—which I was never told about. And now they’ve got the audacity to tell me I have to buy out the equipment for $6,600 or pay almost $800 in removal fees?
To top it off, they throw in a ******** “offer” of 10% off for 12 months to try to get me to keep paying i*** ***** ****. ************. **** ** *********** ********* ******************* ********** *** designed to trap homeowners. I bought a furnace and air conditioner may 8 2025. It hasn’t been warm enough until today to put on the air until today. It was 30 degrees and I put on the air for my dog. It went from 29 to 30 degrees. I called their service line and they aren’t able to have someone here until Saturday May 31 two days later. I already paid for it upfront. You would think a brand new air conditioner would be a priority. I messaged the person who sold it to me and their website and have had no response.Reliance Home Comfort

We hv been diligent payers and clients since last 5 years but This company ***** - they first deleted my pre authorized payment in Feb without my permission - and are not able to reinstate the same till date - they blame my bank - how ? What has my bank got to do with their pre authorized payment ? Instead of apologizing they keep saying they will fix it since Feb till date and hv not done. YOU have to have your lawyer contact them through their lawyer's ******* ****** ************** ******************** * **** ** *** * **** ** ** **** **** ********* ***** ****** **** ** ** ** When have your equipment installed the installers couldn't care less about the process, they damage your home, install incorrectly, and literally drop things off your roof (in my case it fell on our car). Then when they promise to do something in terms of reparations they fall short or do nothing.
** Their "maintenance" program is once per year and if something breaks or doesn't work correctly outside of that one visit they do not come or even make notes on what has been happening.
** They tell you that you can make additional payments without penalty, this is also a ***.

I was very disappointed with Reliance’s repair service *** **** ****** ** ******* **** ****** ** ***** *******.
I called Reliance in the morning to request a repair for a gas leak from the furnace shutoff valve, which could potentially interfere with the hot water tank Reliance had installed just the day before. I understood that the furnace is not a Reliance rental unit, so I expected there would be a repair fee. The phone representative informed me that a Reliance gas technician would provide a repair estimate before any work was done. I was told there would be a $99 estimate fee, which would be waived if I proceeded with the repair. However, she did not provide any details about the potential cost of the actual repair.
Based on previous quotes I had received for the same issue—$175 from a ****** technician and $85 from another Reliance technician just the day before—I reasonably assumed the cost to replace the shutoff valve wouldn’t exceed $200, especially since the repair typically takes only about 10 minutes. Based on this understanding, I scheduled an appointment between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Unfortunately, the technician did not arrive until 4 p.m. When he finally assessed the job, he quoted me an unexpectedly high price of $429 plus tax. When I questioned the excessive charge, he explained that this was their standard pricing: $150 just for showing up, plus charges for the time he spent talking to me. He also claimed that, in his 15 years at Reliance, I was the only customer who found their prices unreasonable.

******** ** *** ***** **** * *** ***** **********. My one, and only, experience with Reliance was that were completely unreliable. Had some AC work "scheduled" for between 1:00-5:00. At 4:45 I got a call saying the technician was "a few minutes out". At 5:38 I called back, and was told the technician was just wrapping up and would be here shortly. At 6:26 they called again, and said he was 30 to 40 minutes out, did I still want to proceed. I said definitely not. What a waste of an afternoon and no apology was received.Reliance Home Comfort
