I have a rental water heater for 11 years. I have had nothing but problems with it. One time the hot water heater was not working and I called and they said it was not there problem. Another time the pilot light went out and called about this and they sent someone out and all he did was say not their problem. Called to have this water tank removed and replaced because of the problems and they said no . Nothing wrong with it. Every time I had an issue with the tank it was not their problem. It cost me out of pocklet money to get plumbers in who said it is a reliance issue. But they fixed it . I have spent more than $5,000 over the years for rental and they do nothing. Also they will not pick up the tank in my garage ,but for a small charge, they will take off my hands. They should take their equipment after all that money I spent renting it. I would not recommend this company to anyone.Reliance Home Comfort

** ******* *** I had our furnace replaced on April 16, 2025 by Reliance Home Comfort after doing research on a couple of other companies. Three men showed up at 9:00 a.m. on the 16th to replace the existing furnace and add air conditioning. One man left for whatever reason and the two men worked on their own all day. They could not speak English and what little they knew was frustrating ** ** ******* *** * because we did not know what they were doing or if they were doing it right. They also did not bring food or water with them nor make an attempt to go and get some. We ended up filling their water bottles all day and providing them dinner. They initially told us they would be done by 10:00 p.m. which I thought was very late. They ended up being at our house until 12:45 a.m. ** ******* *** * *** ******* *** it was very tiring. I felt we were very disrespected by this company to have these workers in our house so late causing upheaval not only to ourselves, but to our neighbours will all the commotion. ** ******* contacted the company here and a fellow who said he was in charge of crews said he would see what could be done. I have the Cooling Service plan - and I placed a call to have AC checked as it was not cooling. Technician advised that there was an issue with thermostat sensor but also a small leak on the system . Because the Unit is so old, that it's best to replace so instead of doing further diagnostics he booked a sales call for that evening. Not really happy with the call , I called a 3rd party in that was able to diagnose and fix the issue ( changed capacitor and Ecobeee adapter) for $400 ... Service and capacitor should have been covered under the Service plan. Extremely disappointed. I Called Reliance back after they advised to call back for a 2nd opinion. before calling 3rd party.Reliance Home Comfort

Went with a rent-to-own option when my furnace died. Was promised many things that Reliance never came through on. The salesperson told me if I purchased/rented the furnace/central air and hot water tank combo, I would get a $5k rebate. After I signed, I found out it was only for ******** customers. When I moved, the buyer didn’t want to take over the rental so I asked for a buy-out. ($11k) I was told yesterday that I could make payments. Today reliance called me and said they’re sending my $11k bill to collections unless I pay it off today. The woman on the phone ignored me when I said I was told yesterday I was allowed to make payments. ** *** *** *********Reliance Home Comfort

Please note that Reliance does not offer rent-to-own agreements. As outlined in the signed contract, this is a rental agreement for a term of 84 months for the HVAC equipment.
If the home is sold and the purchasers choose not to assume responsibility for the equipment, the outstanding balance must be settled through a buyout, as the contract remains in effect. If you would like to establish a payment arrangement, you will need to contact our Accounts Receivable Department directly to proceed with the setup.
I sincerely apologize for any frustration this may have caused and understand your concerns. However, the agreement was signed, and these terms remain applicable.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly. -****** *******@***************.comReview fromJack P

* ***** *** **** **** **** ********* I signed up for plumbing protection plan. After few months i have faucet leaking and need cartridge replace. The guy came and mentioned we don't have parts available and will take some time and you need to pay $100 for shipping. They have many reason to avoid replacement and fix. I would not recommend any of their plan.Reliance Home Comfort

rental hot water heater blew up and caused severe water damage to my basement floor and walls resulting in mold and damaged personal items/furniture. One of their "technicians" said the water talk was fine, the water was because of condensation... that's right! enough condensation to fill my basement floor!
the very next tech came in (from Reliance) *** ****** *** ***** **** *** ******* *** replaced it immediately.
*** *** *** *** ***** Reliance emailed me saying that based off of their technician's report, the damage was not their fault and claimed no responsibility. The same tech that said it was condensation... *******.
Now I have a $20k claim through my home insurance. ***** *** ********* ****** ****** **** ***** ** * ****** ** ******* I waited 3 months without cold water in my bathroom to for a a part to come in for replacement. I am extremely displeased with the Reliance plumbing protection plan and the heating protection plan. The contracted service people have been good, but booking an appointment is ALWAYS a huge hassle. Whenever I've called for a plumbing appointment they don't have any available. They tell me that someone will call back, and they never do. This week it took me four phone calls to get an appointment, and that appointment is five full days after I first called. I also made an appointment for yearly furnace maintenance to have my ac inspected before summer, and the soonest appointment is two months away, in the middle of July. The service people I speak with on the phone are nice enough, but they are completely unable to do anything except send emails about appointments. Even when I spoke to a supervisor they did nothing but tell me they would call back. After three hours I called back again and was met with the same impossible situation. They charge $50 a month for this complete lack of service. I would recommend going with any other company, or just not getting their service at all. I have been having these same issues for over a year.
The most ********* part is that every time I call they try to upsell me on their other plans, as if those ones wouldn't be just as awful as the ones I'm already paying for.Reliance Home Comfort

I have been renting a water heater from Reliance home comfort for the past 10 years since march 2015 and the original cost of the equipment as per the market price in 2015 was around 650. I have already paid more then 5 times or more of the original price. I have had no maintenance on this equipment since its installation. I do not have a written contract or any terms and condition. I suddenly realize this was insane and called reliance to see my option of buying out the equipment. I was quoted a price of $842 which is more then the original price and has since been depreciated by several times. The equipment itself would be nearing its end of life cycle and still the depreciation amount is huge. I think it should be close to nothing or reasonable to buy this equipment back and end the rental. * ** ********* **** **** ***** ******** ********* *** ******* ** ******** **** *********** *** ***** ** *** ***** * ****** *** *** ** *** *** **** **** *** ******** ***** ** *** **** * ***** ********** **** **** *** ******** ** ******* **** **** *** *** ** ** ******* **** *****Reliance Home Comfort
