They do not care for customers.I had them come and fix my furnace 8 times last year- ordering the same part multiple times. One tech used tape to try and fix!
I have had two calls to Reliance this year.First guy said need 2 parts might take really long time, mentioned buying new furnace(mine is only a few years old and under full warranty). At least he gave me heat .One day layer no heat.I had to leave work early ,wait 3 hours to be told the guy couldn't get started.Another night my kids and I are in the cold.**** **** **** ******** *** **** ******** * **** *********Reliance Home Comfort

Had a Reliance rep come to my house and talked about how great Reliance is as and signed up for what I thought was a rent to own program for an AC unit as this is how the rep explained it to me. I put my house on the market only to find out 1) There is a lien on my house from Reliance for the AC unit, I have always paid my monthly bill with them, 2) Reliance has no rent to own program. Now I am two weeks away from the closing date on my house and the only option I have been given is to pay out the AC unit which is over $6000. I was lied to right from the beginning and Reliance seems to have no compassion for their customers. * ***** *** ********* ******** ** ******* ** they have representatives who misinform customers, put liens on your home without your knowledge and done provide any other options besides a payout option.Reliance Home Comfort

1 star** * ***** **** **** * ***** * **** ******* * ****** Long story short is that my father had signed a contract 11 years ago for a furnace and hot water tank. My parents paid close to $24,000.00 to date and we are still being charged monthly for the 'rental' of these items. My father has passed away and I have moved in with my mother, and I believe we've more then paid for these items. We've asked for a buyout amount at zero dollars. I was told that the buy out amount is over $3,000.00 and to be generous they will give my mother a $20.00 discount on our monthly payments. The 'manager' I spoke to said that the products are worth approx. $15,000.00 and he knows we've paid close to $24,000.00 but there's nothing but the discount I previously mentioned or I would go to collections if I refused to pay. I've asked for a copy of the contract, which I've not gotten yet. I can't believe that my mother, a senior, a widow, on limited income was treated so poorly and Reliance's only concern is to continue to make money. I was told they are not a rent to own company, in a rent to own, you pay 'rent' until you've paid for the item. We've paid for the products and then some and they want to continue to charge my mother monthly for 11 year old products. Both people that my mother spoke to were condescending and kept saying that they understand my mother's feelings. ****** **** **** **** ****** **** **** ** ** * ****** ****** *** ***** **** **** ** ***** ****** ******* *** **** **** *** ******* ** ** ***** *** ** ******** ********* ***** **** *** *** ********** ***** ****** ******* ** *** **** **********Review fromGordon T

The service was prompt. I placed the request for service call in at 14:33. I was informed that a technician would be there between 16:00 and 20:00 same day. The technician arrived 15:24 and was finished just after 16:00. We had hot water by 16:50.
The technician was very professional. He was very courteous and respectful of the premises. He not only performed the necessary repair, he went the extra mile to perform an inspection and thorough cleaning to ensure there were no other issues.
Another pleasant surprise was that when my call phone died, the customer service rep called back to ensure that I was aware that the service call had been placed.
Very satisfied.Reliance Home Comfort

This the worst company ever to do business with. I had a furnace and an air conditioner replaced in May 2022 and spent from July to September requesting an invoice due to the salesman error or carelessness, the payment instructions were never transmitted. I will not even begin to discuss the nightmare of scheduling the installations. I spoke with several customer service representatives to make payment all to no avail but then they had the NERVE to send me a collections letter!!!
I was finally able to resolve the issue send payment in full in October. I requested acknowledgement of payment and received none, I have to register for the warranty and guarantee myself and require the model and serial numbers. I requested on November 15 that they provide me a paid in full receipt along with the serial and model numbers of the units. I was told they would send me the information via email in the next 3-5 business days (ref# xxxxxx).
Well now the brand new furnace is not working, I cannot get a service call because I do not have the registration information and when I call Reliance today Nov 28, 2022 they repeat it will take 3-5 business (Ref# xxxxxx). I tell the representative My 70+ year old parents are freezing and out thousands of dollars, they cannot wait another 3-5 business days and they kept repeating the same thing, 3 to 5 business days. **** ** * ******** ******** *** ******** *** ************** *** ******** ** **** *** *** ******* ******** ******* *** ******* *** ****** *** **** ******** **** *********** ******** * ***** ***** ********* **** ******** *** *** * ****** ***** * * **** *******Reliance Home Comfort

I’ve been royally screwed over in the past with Reliance, but because they have a complete monopoly in Burlington, I was forced to use them again in this case to replace a burned out electric water heater. The two guys that showed up informed me that the installation charge would be $300 because of a little bit of copper piping in a couple of gas valves that they had to put in. Of course the sales people on the phone insisted that the installation would be free. To vent the water heater to the outside they had to walk through my garden. They then dragged mud across my porch through my kitchen, down the stairs and all over the basement floor. When I asked them if they brought a mop to clean it up, they said “no we don’t have a mop, and we don’t do cleaning“. They installed the new copper piping 6 inches from the ceiling for no apparent reason. When I asked them why they installed it so low they said they did that to make it easier for the next guy. What next guy? They did it to make it easier for themselves.Reliance Home Comfort

1 starAbsolutely the worst company to ever deal with. ********** **** ***** ** * ******** ****. We signed up for their maintenance protection plan, over the years the quality of the maintenance performed decreased greatly. They force you to service the a/c and furnace at the same time which doesn't make any sense, even the service guy agreed, and always had to fight for them to do it separately. The most recent service, the service guy tagged my furnace and shut it down and told my wife "you are alone at home with your kids, you should get this replaced immediately so they aren't cold and offering a sales rep to come to our house later in the day." Don't bring my kids into your sales pitch! After having them leave the house, we contacted other companies for quotes on a furnace, and all agreed that Reliance did not need to tag the furnace and it is common practice for them to do it prematurely. I called immediately to cancel all my services with reliance, and sure enough I was still charged on my next bill for the protection plan and currently on the phone trying to get my bill adjusted.
Worst company to deal with, quality of service as gotten so low to a point where they don't do anything except cost you money. ***** ***** ********* **** ******* ** ********Review fromEvelyn B

******** **** ******* *** ******** *********. After paying for water tank rental for 9 years I called to ask them if I could buy it out of disconnect the service. They want to charge me $125 for disconnect
Ing the service even though my contract with them wZ only for 7 years. When asked if I could buy it out they gave me a rate of $845 as tge deprecated value of the tank. **** ** ***** *** ***** *******. A brand new tank cost about that. A word of caution and advise to people don't get into these rental contacts. 99% of the time you don't have an issue with the tank. Instead just buy your own and install...you will save a lot of. Money.Reliance Home Comfort
