Worst customer service!! If something goes wrong they will not admit it or return calls or emails. I’ve had to have 5 service calls in less than 6 months on a new furnace and air conditioner. Furnace has completely broken down twice. Customer service wanted me to sit in the cold winter four days before repair man could come out. Holes all throughout my basement ceiling that they won’t repair. New Holes in my outside deck for the vent .Reliance Home Comfort

1 starWas very bad experience with installation manager and his staff, really bad experience I had for any construction company in my house,
1. Unprofessional installation manager Mr Tyler
2. Unprofessional staff
Missing two wires to keep my furnace working as new furnace.
Missing a hole in my chimney.
I head big loud sound in my roof I can’t check it to see if any damage to my roof as new roof installation just last year.
3. Walking inside my house without cover shoes and dirty shoes in carpet.
After two days my furnace stop working and when called customer service for service they said until morning someone coming to fix it, good thing it’s not -40c.

1 star**** * **** ******** We had a corporate discount when we got a whole new system put in May of 2021 - gas furnace, gas HWT and AC unit. We went with a rental program as we weren't planning on moving. The tech/installers were amazing and did a fantastic job! The system itself worked great. Then came 2022 and we ended up selling and the new owners did not want a rental agreement which was fine, we bought the system out. We had nothing but issues since! They did not want to honor our contract with the corporate discount saying that it only applied to buy outs within the first 3 months and rentals. After 3 months it was nil. We contacted the sales rep in Winnipeg we dealt with and he no longer worked for the company but said that shouldnt matter and the discount should apply no matter what. Headquarters still would not honor it. We had no choice but to pay in full 17k!!! Then on top of it we had a flood and they wouldn't replace the HWT until we paid everything out so we went with someone else for that. Now 5 months later they are telling us we still owe 15k. Our lawyers sent the cheques and reliance cashed them. Manger we are dealing with barely speaks any english and you can barely understand him on the phone and he doesn't believe us even tho we are providing proof.. Lawyers are now involved and from the looks of it Reliance gave my lawyer the wrong account number and they paid someone Elses account off even tho they had our address and names. * ***** ***** ********* **** ******* **** ** ** ***** ****** ******** ******* they dont honor contracts *** ***** ********* Thankfully we have lawyers involved still from the sale and I can at least trust the lawyers will get this resolved.Review fromLorna B

Company isn't "local" as they claim they are. Everything is based out of a call centre somewhere in Toronto or Ontario. They have the worse customer service going. They obviously don't listen, twist your words, conversation, signing you up for some kind of plan without getting my approval back. They said "I could review the plan BEFORE signing up"!! Well guess what? I never did get a chance to review the docs prior to their "10 day cancelation policy" I spoke with them Sept 22, received by email the plan to review Oct 3, 2022 and now have been automatically enrolled in some kind of maintenance plan including a bill for service which I never agreed to or received now!!! Never did book a service call AND never did agree to sign up for "the plan". So like??????
I refused to book a service call with them. They said I needed both a plumber & furnace tech for my request. They don't have techs that can do both." I said NO, It's ridiculous that I'd need to pay for 2 different techs to come out 2 different appointments. Never in my life have I had to have 2 different techs come out when dealing with other plumbing heating companies. Plus I wanted to speak to a LOCAL company that understands and knows only 1 tech is required to deal with both potential plumbing and heating problems! not 2! Not mention the phone rep obviously didn't have a clue what I was inquiring about either. All they wanted was for me to SIGN UP on the spot for some kind of "protection" before I even knew what could be wrong with furnace or plumbing issue!!!. Terrible company. * ***** **** ***** **** ** *********** ******* ***** **** *** * ********* ********* *** *****Reliance Home Comfort

****** ***** ***** ****** *** **** ********** ****. they are trying to sell their own product. They do not have any service agreement with ******. So if your Primary Heat exchanger or secondary heat exchanger is defected they do not cover in their protection plan. And they can not order the above two parts from ****** which is costly ..it is just like transmission in you car. And some ****** Model Primary Heat exchanger is covered for 20 years for parts and 20 years for parts and labour for secondary heat exchange, In order to get those two parts from them Reliance has to have agreement with ****** Distributor which they do not. So you are screwed up. All your monthly payment is gone...Reliance Home Comfort

We have been Reliance Home Comfort customers for many years and have never missed a payment or needed their service until recently. Our hot water tank was failing and we were running out of hot water. I called the service department and was told I would receive a call same day and possibly a service visit. Nothing happened so i called again, and was told the same thing. After a couple of weeks, we called again to cancel our account and ended up buying a new tank and installing it ourselves. We did not receive an apology. We were also told that if we put the tank outside, the service people would pick it up, but after a number of calls over the last couple of weeks, we are still waiting! We are so disappointed *** **** ***** ********* ********.
On top of that, there was a discrepancy between our billing and service address but I could NOT make the billing dept. understand. On a second call, I was put on a long hold so hung up. We were sent a survey in which we listed the complaints mainly that no one had ever called or shown up and asked for the option of a call back and are still waiting for that as well! We were getting ready to list our house, I contacted Reliance to get the warranty and assumption documents to give the realtor for prospective buyers should they want to continue with the rental or buy it out. They never sent them and we listed without them.
We ending up selling the house with a short closing date upon condition of the buy out of the rentals. I contacted Reliance numerous times requesting a bill for the break down of the buy out and warranties etc. I was transferred back and forth from billing to rentals and told I’d receive the documentations within 24-48 hours. It never happened. I continue to call and request a bill and eventually they sent my an email with the amount owing but stated they couldn’t send me a bill to the next billing which was 2 days after the closing date!
It is now in the hands of our lawyer,
I would have thought Reliance would have been more cooperative.Reliance Home Comfort

On purchase of a house all the documents I was informed this was a Reliance HWT so I assumed their normal contract would be what is enforced.
They failed to mention on account setup that the tank was from an acquired company, expired and their contract does not apply to it but the original one does and has a clause that said I need to pay a fee that can't be waved even after the expiration of the contract. This contract expired 6 months before I took ownership of the house. The fee is 6 months worth of payments after they "wavied" drop off fees which i was already going to do myself, and the tank is 12 years old and 590$ to buy out.Reliance Home Comfort
