Shopify and Printify was a horrible experience.I sold $3000 in sales.and shopify would charge me shipping and Printify would charge me shipping for 1 tshirt!then Shopify charged me the retail prices of my own products so i made no profits.then There was a chargeback because someone claimed it was fraudulent order, but it was Printify that took all my orders in the order bin, they always took my orders...so on top of not getting any money from my profits, they charged me a couple of hundred and stole it from my bank--even though i disconnected my bank to shopify.i made a complaint to my bank and filed 2 forms saying Shopify stole money from my bank.they are greedy, do not use shopify or printify.i lost time in design my christmas shop, and made $3000 in sales, and was double charged shipping from Printify and Shopify.horrible experience people. use woocommerce instead and build your own shop! do not use shopify or printify.

Hello ******, My name is **** and I'm a Support Lead at Shopify. I know that starting up a dropshipping store can be tricky to manage all the ins and outs of pricing and delivery. Due to our strict privacy policies, we are extremely limited in what information we can relay via the BBB portal. However, based on the information you've provided, I can identify three areas that led to this difficulty. First, pricing - ensuring that you have dropshipping set up correctly ensures that there are no surprises with billing. This includes checking that the price you pay a dropshipper is in the same currency as your store is charging, so that you can be certain of the accounting and your profit margins. Next, shipping is something that can be difficult to set up. For dropshipping, if the dropshipper is charging you shipping directly, you can either build that into your product price, or charge your customers the shipping as a separate charge. Then, when fulfilling orders, you do not need to buy a shipping label from Shopify, since your dropshipping partner will be buyting the label. You can learn about how to set up shipping here: ****************************************************** Finally, for chargebacks, Shopify has no control over this process. We allow merchants to respond to chargebacks and provide evidence to banks to ensure that you have a chance to win the chargeback, but the bank processing the funds ultimately makes the final decision. You can learn more about chargebacks and how to protect yourself here:****************************************************************** If you have any further questions about this, you can contact our support team to get advice on how to set up products, *************, and ensure that your store is able to be successful. Sincerely,**** Support Lead | Shopify

SHOPIFY APP IS the worst. I own a small business for years and I use my app to add and make changes more than laptop. It's more convenient for me. But unfortunately now i can't do nothing. It's affecting my business, due to the fact that if I need to edit I can't. I contacted their so called team and they are still trying to figure out why this is happening. Over a week now and no resolution. It's gotten so bad that I can't even see who is viewing my website because I get an error. Shopify you got to do better than this. This is ridiculous. I pay ***** a month and they raised the prices.

I opened a Shopify account as an alternative way for tenants to process their rent payments, however, after one of my tenants made their rent payment and the money had been taken from their account, ******************** contacted me and told me that they did not support this type of payment processing and that the payment that had already been processed, would be on hold for 120 days. This was back in October of 2023. I received an email stating that the money would be released on Feb 5th, **** but it is now two weeks later and I have still not received the $4000 that Shopify took from my tenant. I tried to process a refund to the tenant so that they might pay their rent another way but received an error code that the payment was not eligible for a refund. I have sent numerous emails and had multiple chat sessions with their "support specialists" and have gotten nowhere. At this point, I feel as though Shopify has stolen $4000 from me and has no intention of ever releasing this payment. To make matters worse, they have continued to charge me for my account every month, which I am afraid to cancel because then I do not know how I will be able to contact them to get this resolved. It is going on 6 months that they have had my money with almost zero traction on getting it released.

The store I initially ordered from, recommended by Shop, turned out to be a scam. Initially, I ordered pants which were out of stock, but I was promptly refunded. Encouraged, I ordered the same pants from another store featured on Shops homepage, receiving a delivery confirmation. After two weeks with no delivery, my concern grew. To my dismay, the Shop app indicated that the store no longer existed. Attempts to contact the store through the support email and social media were fruitless. When I reached out to Shop, they informed me that they were unable to issue a refund, suggesting I contact my bank instead. This experience raised several red flags for me. Its troubling that Shop advertised this store and then denied responsibility for the refund. This calls into question their vetting process for advertised stores. The situation is not only frustrating but also leaves me potentially losing over $50 due to what appears to be Shops inadequate vetting. I frequently use Shop and might continue to do so, but this incident has certainly made me reconsider prioritizing their company over others for their buy now pay later service.

      Hello *****,

Jef here from Shopify Operations. Thanks very much for taking the time to leave this review.

I can certainly recognize how frustrating this must have been for you and I'm sorry you had to experience something like this. I too have fallen prey to the perils of doing business in the online world.

In regards to the Shop app I wanted to share with you our public help document that stipulates everything a store must have in order to be eligible for Shop. Please check out the document at this link here. If a merchant meets these requirements then we consider them eligible. Behind the scenes our system is constantly performing all sorts of magic computer stuff to make sure the stores remain compliant however one thing we've not yet managed to develop is the ability to determine what is going to happen in the future.
We have no chance in determining what is happening in a merchants personal life and whether this will impact their store. Will they need to close for personal reasons? Have they somehow breached our polices and we've shut them down? So many different factors come into play and we can't predict these.

In an email to our Support you wrote an analogy of a friend recommending you to a restaurant. As with Shopify your friend has no idea what might happen to that restaurant from the time they leave the door to the time you turn up. Did they go out of business? Did they suffer a horrible personal tragedy? Were they closed for health violations?
How is your friend supposed to know? They make a recommendation. If it's open then fantastic then if not, that's not on the friend, that's a thing called life.

It's the same with us. We'd love to be in a position where we don't have stores that close however it happens, every single day. Would we hope they are honourable and either provide the purchased product or a refund? Absolutely we would! Is the world such a place where this is likely to happen? Unfortunately not. We can't make predictions on human behaviour.

We do everything we can to vet all our new merchants however like any ecommerce platform or even any mall owner, not everyone turns out to be the right ones.

I want to stress, we absolutely do not condone any type of fraudulent activity on Shopify. Filing a claim with your bank will trigger a notification internally, which we can use to investigate the store as needed. We will take a look into the stores activity and take action where appropriate. For legal and privacy reasons we will not be able to share the results of this investigation with you.

I wish you all the best.

      Kind Regards

Jef - Operations Manager | Shopify

Literally the worst company in the world to do business with. Their customer service agents know NOTHING and waste your time each and every time. They have broken logic on their Amazon Pay button and are telling ME, their customer, to contact amazon to fix their own checkout issue.Literally insane. I hate working with Shopify, and I sell around 8m/year in revenue on the platform. They could care less.

I had decent luck with this vendor before the holiday shopping season began. I have started to contact vendors about missing items and am unable to contact Serene Selfcare about some missing items and they are no longer on Shopify. This would be fine if Shopify took care of their customers. They will not let me file a complaint without first contacting the seller. Ive been trying for a while but they dont exist on the shop app or at the link provided. I finally clicked the box that said I attempted to contact the seller, submitted the form and was forwarded to another questionnaire with the same questions and it just kept looping. I attempted to contact Shopify by phone but they provide no contact information unless you want to use their site to SELL then there are many ways to contact that part of the business.

The worst payment processor we have ever dealt with. We have been using their service for over 4 months. They approved one location to take HSA and after 2 months of back and forth with support staff (who can take up to 14 days to respond) they have continued to deny 3 of my other locations from taking HSA (We could still take CC payments). As of today they sent an email and within 30 seconds our payment terminals were shut off along with all of our pending transactions have been deleted from the system from the past 3 days. They captured the payments and are now refusing to release them to us (theft). I would highly recommend an business operating within the medical space do not use Shopify in any capacity.

Buyer Beware:We evaluated Shopify for an online sporting goods store and had questions regarding their published terms of service. We held an actual phone meeting with them (Q1 2023) to make sure that their platform and Shopify Payments were available for us to use given our product line. We were told Yes and received a transcript of the call. We spent the next 5 months training, building the store, and just before launch for the 2023 holiday season the "Trust and Safety Team" let us know that Shopify Payments was not an option. The additional costs associated with not being able to use Shopify Payments caused some significant issues for us to overcome. Nobody would talk to us and it caused a delay in launch. Do yourself a favor and find an alternative. We have initiated credit company disputes and are in the process of sending demand letters via an attorney. If I were to sum up Shopify in a few words I would say that they are unprofessional, unethical, morally and ethically bankrupt, and they just do not care. Take a look at BigCommerce, they have US based support and answer the phone, even on a Sunday morning. Big Commerce has been an absolute pleasure to work with so far. For what it is worth we saved money on the merchant charges using Parallel Economy and were able to match the shipping discount rates using Desktop Shipper. Lastly, our team feels the overall presentation of the store is better on BigCommerce than on Shopify.
