      Hi I was with this bank for awhile then they gave out my information to somebody without even asking for proof of papers the atm machines never worked bad customer service and charging $17 for a chequing account is bad

      I made the mistake of getting mortgage with BMO. I had a payment reversed and started to get calls saying I hadn't made a payment. Checked to make sure I'd made all the payments, which I did. (I wasn't looking for a reversal, because I was told I'd missed the payment.) Asked when the payment was missed, they couldn't tell me. Several months and calls later they could finally tell me when the payment was missed. I was told I would have to go into the branch to make the payment. But there's no local branch. Seemed a little weird, so I phoned the nearest branch, which is ******. Met a really helpful service representative who said I could mail him the check. Problem solved.
      Then I made the mistake of asking to change my payments from semi-monthly to monthly, coming off on the 5th. Today I get a text message to check my account or phone a support number. Since I can't check my mortgage account, because they don't allow online banking if you only have a mortgage account, I phoned the number and got to account services. Turns out my payment for this month was reversed, because it went off on the 1st. (It's a rental property, so I almost never get the money on the 1st). So eventually after holding for almost 30 minutes, (While the service agent checks with her manager) I'm told they cannot make a mortgage payment come off on any day except the 1st (which no one mentioned when I asked for the change). This is also weird, ******* ** ****** ***** ***** ** ****** *** ***** ** ******** ******** ***** **** But whatever - I ask how I'm supposed to make the payment. I have to go to a branch and pay cash....???! When I questioned this, they confirmed I can also pay by check. And after explaining going in isn't an option, I'm told I can mail it in. So I asked where to send the check - another hold - transferred to general services. General services wants to be 100% certain it's right, so they transfer me to... Account services. 1 hour of my life I'm never getting back.

      40 year customer of BMO
      I also had $3,000 that was stolen from my BMO bank account. * **** **** ******* **** **** * **** *** ** ******** *** **** ********* ** *** ********** * **** ******* *** ** *********** * ***** **** ******** *** **** *** ***** ** ** *** ** ***** ***** *** *** ********* *** ** ***** **** ****** *** ***** I Reported to Police & to BMO the day it happened.
      Fraud level 1,2 & 3, still nothing??
      It took 2 months for BMO to say it has gone to a ** account, but the banks don't communicate??
      I went into **, talked to the manager, she said I should call ** fraud, which I did. Explained I didn't expect them to give me the info, but please, communicate to BMO with the info?
      No??
      Called BMO Resolution dept. No, they suggested I call BMO Manager again.
      I did. I call, wait on hold, speak to a person, tell them my story, no, they can't help me, send me to another dept, call, wait on hold, tell my story, nope, will connect you to another dept, click, disconnected, call back, get another person, tell my story again, nope, can't help you ??
      I'm told it came from my IP address.
      I have no idea how they did that!!! I was never in Public Wifi??
      I'm told there was an OTP code sent to my email address. I never received a code!
      I checked my email, my trash account, my cell phone,
      Nothing!
      I've been asking since it happened, where did the OTP go, I would like to see evidence, because it didn't come to any of my devices!!!
      Still waiting!!!
      Ombudsman, waited again, nope, same carbon copy response as BMO.
      Police got a warrant to speak to the person, "Nope, she doesn't know anything about it"
      So Police??
      BMO is treating me like a criminal!
      40 year customer of BMO, no issues.
      ***** ********* with a clean record, not even a speeding ticket??
      Why would I steal $ from myself, then report it to OPP???
      It's been over a year, fighting for my $ back!!!
      I just want the $ back that I worked for & pd BMO to protect.

      Have never had a harder time simply trying to get a debit card to work. They tell you different things on the phone and in person at the branch and no one helps you. ** *** ** ***** ***** **** **** ***** ****** **** I have had 3 debit cards sent to me and none of them have worked. The only reason I will deal with BMO is because their unfortunate purchase of air miles. **** *****

      Called BMO support regarding a new BMO credit card for which we were told it has 1 air mile for every $10 spent on the card. Brochure also stated the same reward. Checked the first 3 statements and none of them seemed to give the correct # of air miles. Their support stated that all purchases don't qualify, and directly me to a website which showed valid stores. Despite stating several times that it was 1 air mile/$10 purchase, he seemed clueless as to the problem and referred me to the air miles phone #. While waiting for over minutes on the phone, I noticed on BMOs website that the air miles allocation for the card we got was 1 air mile / $12 spent. Clearly, the phone rep was clueless as I had mentioned 1 air mile/$10 spent several times. I also now believe the bank rep from which the card was obtained also did not know the current rate (or BMO did not inform customers of the rate change from $10 to $`12). Pathetic customer service.

      I waited TWENTY MINUTES in line only to get told I had to make an appointment regarding what I was there for. I had a lady ask me if she could help me while in line and told me they could help me. Absolute ********. I’ve been able to get help before.

      We have a stock managed by Bank of Montreal (BMO), and we were charged taxes for deemed dividends worth $16,000 which were never distributed to us.
      While the share price went down 30% for the year 2022/2023, we did not receive any dividend amount, and the Bank of Montreal kept all the dividend amount of $16,000
      Never put any money into a BMO bank or investment. **** **** ****** **** ** *** ****** ** ***** **** ***** ** ***** 
      Summary: OILU shareholders are asked to pay BMOs dividend tax.

      I was with BMO several years but their service is rapidly deteriorating. Somebody broke into my account, make purchase and several E-trades. All what the BMO does is a bunch of excuses and decline responsibility. This in spite of their agreement indicates that the customer would not be responsible for fraudulent charges.

      ** ***** ** * ***** *** ***** ** **** *** if you are not in the top high earners or the 1% dont bother with bmo. they dont care about you and their policies will just give you a headache. without notification, they will cancel service, change your limit and their customer service will give you a run around, you will lose money, time and your credit score will be affected. **** *****
