I received a parking ticket by Indigo Park Notice #******* yesterday June 6 for parking at the side of the road leading to ******* Airport on May 14. I had momentarily stopped my car there for less than 5 minutes so I could text my daughter to see which gate she would be at so I could pick her up. This is the first time I have received a ticket and wasn’t aware that Indigo is issuing tickets. I am a retiree with no financial leeway to pay the fine of $107.60 incl tax. On Friday morning, Apr21st, 2023. I went to the airport to pickup my son as he was arriving back to Canada because of sickness. I drove to the airport and there was no parking at the terminal, parking enforcement people told to move my car. There was no space for at least 20 cars in the pick up area. The enforcement people even did not tell me I could park in the cell area and waited. I tried to come again after sometime and a group of cars standing by the side of the road leading to the Terminal and decided to wait there along with some other cars, also not knowing that this was a violation. I even didn’t see any sign of no standing there. I received a notice at end of May and was shocked that the notice was May 19, 2023 with $85.00 and due date was May 20, 2023 with $107.60, just 1 day before the due date. I went to the MP’s office of my riding and was warned at least 30 days should be given upon the due date. This is completely unacceptable and as such I request that this be waived. We got the response from Indigo Park via BBB this morning and they reduced the charge to $40. Both of my husband and I are seniors and this is our first time to know such a violation in the ******* ************* airport. The date we went there to pick up our sick son and did not know where we could park temporarily. Anyway, in order to settle this complaint, we have to pay $40. Could you please ask the business to advise us of alternative methods of payment rather than online? There is only online payment option on the notice. We are seniors and always try to avoid any online payment *****.

I was away due to family's issue and returned back recently. I am so sorry to respond lately. I checked the email sent from BBB on June 26, 2023 and the business, Indigo Park said they had decided to waive the violation, no further action was required by the customer. However, I did pay $40 to Indigo Park online on June 21, 2023 because i had to get on my way that time. I am asking for the refund of $ 40 from Indigo Park since they have waived the violation.Business Response

I was doing a ******* airport pickup on April 26th and the flight had luggage issues so I was stuck circling. I am a senior and didn’t know there was something called a cell phone parking area. I kept driving around till I saw all these people parked on the side with cells checking on pickups, so I thought that it was fine. I receive a letter around May 30th telling me of a parking infraction #******* for $85. Letter was formed May 25th and then mailed to me.
Failure to pay by the due date will raise the fine to $107.40. The due date was the same date the letter was produced May 25th. They waited a whole month before informing me I made a traffic violation to get more money. As a pensioner that is a lot of money for a mistake made in ignorance. I can only hope for a concession due to my ignorance but at most to only pay $85.00. I find it underhanded to wait to send a bill to generate more income.Business Response

on April 28 2023. I went to the airport to pickup my Friend .there was no parking at the terminal, Security told me to move my car..There was no space for at least 20-30 cars in the pick up area.. Monday, May 1st, 2023. I went to the airport to pickup my husband as he was arriving back to Canada (our son had passed away). I tried to come again after sometime and a group of cars standing by the side of the road leading to the Terminal and decided to wait there along with some other cars, also not knowing that this was a violation. I even didn’t see any sign of no standing there. I got notice just 1 day before the due date. So I ended up with fine too..as mentioned in their site , they usually have 15 days time.. May 04, 2023 I went to airport with my kids to pick up their grand parents. We went to terminal 1 arrivals but due to some delay, my kids grandparents need more time for baggage collection. Due to this we need to move our car from terminal so other people can utilize our space. I drove off the airport, on the way back again to terminal I saw some cars parked on road curbside leading to terminal so I decided to wait/park there. Today May 29, 2023 i received a mail notice of $85 to pay by June 2nd, 2023. It just a two days notice. I now realize that it a violation and I get penalized for it. This is unintentional mistake as I joined other car queue who are also waiting there before me. If I know that I will be penalize then I will definately not park there. This is a new lesson for me. I am rejecting this response because it very hard for me to pay. My wife has no job. I have to take care of three kids. Pay my house rent, bills, groceries, clothing, car insurance, gas. I am doing two jobs to meet my living expenses. If I know that i get ticket I will not park there. As you also mention that it's my first offense and hope it the last one too. My current circumstances can't allow me to pay this fine at the moment. I don't know how you will understand, Please help me in waiving this ticket.

On May 10, 2023, I went to downtown and parked my Vehicle at Indigo parking lot around 200pm. At 530 pm i left and paid $ 15 as the parking charge by my credit card through payment machine installed in the basement. I am rejecting this response and giving you brief of the facts agains. the same have been sent to your mail id mentioned on the reverse of the ticket, i.e. ***************@************.com:I travelled to Toranto downtown on May 10, 2023 and parked my vehicle **** *** at Parking Lot 528 around 200 pm. Normally, at the gate the number plate is scanned and at exit we pay the parking charge. However, at this lot, this was not case, that we realised much later, i.e. even after 30 min of payment and exit from lot . I completed my meetings and return to parking lot and found a parking fee collecting machine near the lift only. a gentleman guided me and said, this is new system, so we must pay the fee at this machine befoer I leave. following him, I also paid the parking fee upto 600 pm and drove our vehicle out. after running for few minutes, i found that a paper is hanging on my vehicle's wiper blade. I checked and found it was ticket.
As i am new to city and various systems of differnt parking lots, this was done inadvertantly. i request you to drop the ticket & oblige. * ** ********* ******** **** ******* *** *** ****** *** **** ***** **********

On Wednesday April 19 2023, i went to pick up my parents at the airport but was told that they were having delays getting their luggage. On my way to the cell phone waiting area i accidentally turned left and had to pull over for a few seconds to recalculate and find the optimal way back. (the location this happened is right outside the area and I'm sure if you still have pictures for few minutes later, you will see me in the cell phone waiting area). But this is not the main issue or reasoning why am livid or am requesting this ticket be revoked.
The Notice Date on the ticket sent to me is 05/19/2023. the Due date is 05/18/2023. It is completely ********* and extremely ********* to issue a ticket and then WAIT until the ticket is LITERALLY 1 DAY PAST DUE to then notify the recipient they must pay a ticket so that they have to pay a higher price. This is completely unacceptable and as such i request that this be waived. My NOTICE number is #******* and hope that this company does the right thing.Business Response

On April 17th 2023, We went to the airport to pickup my parents and on 19th April my mom-in-law as they are new to Canada. When we entered there was a huge line of cars and we were supposed to move slowly and couple of cars in front made us to move to a side. Since my parents got delayed getting luuggages, my husband decided to drop me and exit the airport to come later. so we did not have any intention to wait longer than 3mins in arrival area.so my husband went out and came back to enter the arrival area once I am out with parents and luggages. This is our first time to the airport, to be honest we are not sure what all the rules and cellphone lots until May 24th, 2023 (notice date with fine).
We received the notice on May 24th evening . We sincerely apologize, if we have parked our car in any violated area. We confirm that this is our first time and we did not intent to park our car anytime in the area to voilate the law. This was purely due to unawareness and also mainly due to huge crowd of cars who are all not following the lanes and we end up moving behind them in line to reach the arrival point to pick up. I kindly request you to apologize for the same and request you to cancel this ticket. We are in hard time to pay any bills as it is hitting hard financially. Kindly consider our situation of being done this violation very first time and happened unknowlingly ( there is no thought of violating the law), please wave off this ticket for us.
