I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding my ongoing issues with the closure of my account and the erroneous charges that have appeared on my credit ********* November 2024, I contacted Regions Bank to notify you that I had moved to an area where there is no nearby Regions branch. During my conversation with a customer service representative, I requested to close my account. I was assured that the account would be closed and that any remaining balance would be sent to me via check. At that time, my account balance was $0.00, and I verified my address for the mailing of any check. I was under the impression that the account closure process was completed without issue. However, in January 2025, I was shocked to discover a notice on my credit report stating that a personal loan through Regions Bank was past due. I immediately logged into my Regions account and found that my bank account had been closed, but the "overdraft protection" or personal loan account remained active, showing a balance due. I called Regions Bank again and was told that I could settle the outstanding balance, which I agreed to do, with the understanding that the loan would be paid in full and my accounts ********* my surprise, I received an email from Regions Bank on March 11, 2025, stating that I still owed a balance of $20.79 on this "overdraft protection" personal loan. Despite multiple calls to Regions Bank and speaking to three different agents, none of them were able to provide a clear explanation of why this balance is still accruing, or why my accounts have not been properly closed.I find it highly unreasonable and unacceptable that I am being charged for a loan on an account that I have requested to be closed multiple times, and I have not received any reasonable explanation for these continued fees. It is clear that I have made every effort to ensure my accounts were closed, and I should not be held responsible for charges that are the result of improper handlingBusiness Response

February 13th or 14th in closed my personal checking account with **********************. I was informed by the banker assissting me that my account was in fact closed, and would not be accepting any transactions of any type after 72 hours. However, on March 3rd, a transaction did in fact post. With record speed I might add. I wish I had proof that this transaction retroactively posted to my account after the date rolled over to March 4th. This way, they can charge me an overdraft fee on the 5th. I want a formal and public apology, as well as a cash refund for all overdraft fees I have paid on my personal account as well a my business account, in addition to my personal loan paid off in full by Regions. I am prepared to die on this hill and will not rest until this is resolved permanently.Business Response

I have four accounts at **********************. This week I had multiple hacks of my accounts. I was given a new ATM/debit card on Thursday, 2/27. I had put the new card in my wallet and did not use it. Within one hour, this new card was used to make fraudulent transactions. This indicates that Regions has an internal security breech in the chain of custody of the ATM/debit card account number. Either the hacker is a ********************** employee or the employee conveyed the account number to someone else. This has all resulted in two of my accounts being frozen and payments I had made to various vendors being disrupted. Regions has a significant internal security problem.Business Response

Jan 12th my bank card was denied and the next day I contacted Regions Bank Hwy ******************* Branch Mgr. ******* ********. She said a hold was placed on account but did not know what that code represented and would call Birmingham for clarity. She Corporate would not tell her anything but would tell her later. Next date Branck Mgr called and said "Regions is closing your account and sending all money back to another bank and thats all they told her. I do have this in emails between myself and branch mgr. I have repeatedly tried to get clarity on what happened and what laws and or policies guidelines apply here. I asked banker is there anything I can do other than accept closing my account and stealing my money and as if Reading Changes Lives, *** did not exist. Looking back I see only a large deposit of #***k alone with a commitment "Pledge Card" to Reading Changes Lives, *** made on November 12? with a Cashier Check. Ms. **** J. **** made the donation in November. But, on December 27, 2024 Grandson and others took Ms **** to the bank and taken her home in *********** to ********* and stop payment her apartment and ordered me to stay away.. On Jan. 1, 2025 Ms. **** called me "whispering" they are trying to put me in the nursing home and hung up" I texted her back saying "You are still driving/cooking/walking/reading writing and I don't think a nursing should be first choice and your Grandson has 4000sf home. I received a text message from Grandson, *** **** telling me not to have anymore contact with Ms. **** etc. I don't know if this has anything to do with Regions Closing our account and stealing our funds. Regions Bank has not been Clear, Honest, Accurate, and Respectful. No contact with me verbally or in writing leaving no record. But I do have receipt showing deposit and proof of legally made donation to **************************. Please explain why close account and take our money and gives us No valid reasons for such reckless actions.Business Response

I am paying on a truck loan of my late father and now only owe $700.00 the customer service agents will not accept my payment by phone, and this is the final payment on the truck loan. I am not late however, my father passed away in 12/2023 I am the executor over the estate Regions Bank has processed the will and estate and set me his only family member as the executor and I have been making payments every month up to this month they will not accept my payment and advising they will and only can speak to my father who is passed and the paperwork was filed at his main bank and they still REFUSE. Regions is the most unprofessional bank the agents carry no professionalism nor courtesy and the back end >> administration has no clue of how to properly process executor information, it's almost as if the bank wants to take my truck?? I want all the late payment fees to be removed and if you want my truck, I want my ****** dollars refunded.Business Response
