Regions Ban Complaint I recently opened a business account with ********************** and upon account opening I deposited a Money Order for $200 for the business. 1 Day later I was told that Regions back-office decided to close the account and discontinue the relationship, but they tell me I have to wait until the end of the month (3 weeks) before I can receive my $200. The account is displayed as on hold and they will not close it and release my money and the staff at the branch became even more rude concerning this. I have no idea why they can not just close the account and release my money. I never want to bank with them again after this. Anyone with a Regions account or attempting to open one beware upon your deposit as the person at the branch even told me that I would still have to wait even if I would have deposited cash into the account. This makes no sense. This business account was a church ******* and this money is not mine and needs to be returned sooner than 3 weeks.Business Response

Feb. 10, 2025 I was issued a check on Regions Bank. Called bank to verify that they can cash. They replied yes. Went to bank. ****** ******** took check and put it thru machine that printed numbers on back then proceeded to ask if I had an account with them. After I said no, she said there will be a 5 dollar fee to cash. I refused and went to cash check elsewhere. When I tried to cash check at another place, I was told that the check could only be cashed at Regions now that it had those numbers printed on the back, by Regions. Spoke with **** ********** at same bank branch and she refused to acknowledge fault or rectify mistake. Called Regions **************** 4 different times and call was dropped each time over a 45 minute period. Finally on 5th attempt I was able to talk to someone named ****. He suggested I get check reissued from original issuer. I proceeded to file a complaint thru Regions **************** with ****. My complaint is they modified the check in such a way that it can only be cashed at Regions Bank before notifying me that there would be a fee to cash it and now, if I want to cash check I will be forced to do so at Regions Bank and pay their fee instead of being able to cash it elsewhere.Business Response

Formal Complaint Against Regions Bank for Unfair Overdraft Fees and Unauthorized Transactions I am writing to formally file a complaint against Regions Bank regarding ongoing issues with overdraft fees and unauthorized transactions despite multiple attempts to resolve the matter.I have reached out to Regions Bank several times and have spoken with various representatives who indicated that I would need to go online and manually stop the process of merchants taking money from my account when it is overdrawn. However, despite following these instructions and even deactivating accounts with certain merchants, funds have continued to be withdrawn from my account.Additionally, I have experienced situations where I had sufficient funds to cover transactions within the bank's grace ******* yet the bank delayed processing them until my balance was insufficient, resulting in unnecessary overdraft fees. On multiple occasions, I have been charged excessive overdraft fees, including three separate $36 fees within a few weeks in the same month. This pattern of fee assessments and the banks failure to properly stop unauthorized transactions have caused significant financial strain. I believe these practices are unfair and seek a resolution, including the reimbursement of unjust fees and a clear explanation of the banks policies regarding overdraft protection and transaction processing.I request the BBBs assistance in addressing this matter with Regions Bank to ensure fair treatment and proper resolution. Please let me know the next steps in this process.Business Response

I called my local regions bank who I have been a member for over 20 years and have over $50,000.00 in my account. I spoke with **** the assistant manager and asked if they would accept checks that my daughter wants to endorse to me. He said yes and told me how to do the endorsement on the back and to bring it into the bank. The two checks totaled under $500.00 and I was depositing them not cashing them. When I went to my usual bank Regions Bank ************************************* Pensacola, Fl ***** I was told they do not accept endorsed checks. Now, we are out $500.00 because they are endorsed to me by my daughter, and I have signed them and wrote my bank account number on them.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I do not see a response from Region Bank. I had a home equity loan with them that I have paid off and a credit card with them that I will no longer use and close as soon as the billing cycle is over. I am in the process of opening new accounts with another bank.
Sincerely,

The reigons branch in ****** ******** randomly closes. I missed a deadline getting my passport due to this. I was attempting to get my birth certificate out of my security deposit box. I called the bank at 11:50 and was told the doors would open in ***** minutes. One hour later, I called, and the same teller picked up and told me that she said that it would open at 1:30 and that I was mistaken when I heard ***** minutes. I wasted an hour in the parking lot for nothing. I missed the deadline to have my paper work. This has been a pattern of spending 45 minutes to an hour trying to deal with this branch everytime I visit.Business Response

Selling my home and looking to close 2/4.Transferring my solar loan to new buyer.Buyer had filled out application and sent it in 1/21/25.Looking to get new buyer approved and when I called on 1/30/25 it was stated they have no application. After 45 minutes they found the application and I was told the application would be escalated to next level since our closing was coming up quickly.I called several times:1/31/25 two times and was told the assumption application was escalated to next level and for me to wait. I was told it was emailed past the supervisor and to the director to get things moving quickly. When I called 2/3 I was told there was no escalation in the application and they would escalate it again. I asked to speak with someone higher up like a supervisor and they said they would put a ticket in and it would Be ***** hours before I heard from someone.I have been told several times I would be escalated to get things moving and every time I called they couldnt find anything and they said theyd do it again. There is no one to help, and I am now having to push the sale on my house back due to lack of communication within Regions. They told me it could take up to 60 days to close and I could very well loose the sale of my House due to the buyer not being able to assume the loan because no one can process an application . Ticket number ******* It has been a run around since the start of this whole process and I am really trying to get help but no one is letting us get ahold of someone to get this process moving. Being told that the assumption application has been escalated several different times and to then call the next day and told its never been escalated once is frustrating. I am supposed to trust them and work together to transfer this loan to a buyer and now am having to push back the closing date on my house due to lack of communication with this company.Business Response
