1 starThe worst bank ever!! I was a victim of fraud 3 times, this last time they kept telling me to go into the branch!!! It costs me 100 dollars to travel there - then the branch says they cant help me with online banking when the call center told me to!! I had some random person go into the branch and take out 265 from my checking account when there s a fraud alert on my account!!! Really really bad the worst!!!Review fromMaria Marcela P

1 starDO NOT CHOOSE THIS BANK. Horrible service with payments with *****. I spent hours on the phone, they couldn't resolve the issue and I was told to go in person to a Regions Branch. What's the online banking for then ???I answered 20 security questions... and they still say "we cannot verify your identity"??? And the worse: this is the 3rd time it happens. I work with 2 other banks and never had a problem sending money with *****.Review fromTracy O

1 starIf Regions Bank was in human form, you would not want to be friends or have anything to do with them. My beefs are too many to list here. But I have a few. 1) We sent them a pre written payoff (refi bill consolidation so I didn't write the check) for a loan we had. The check happened to be .75 short out of ~nine thousand dollars. Not only did they not apply the payoff to the account because it was seventy-five cents short, they made no notification, they just let the check float around. A month later, "what happened to that payment.." called regions they had no excuse but they did wave the seventy-five cents, with no apology.2) They re-arrange debit timeframes, so that if the account is low they can cause two transactions to decline (and charge thirty-eight bucks each) instead of one. They now, in the fine print state they can rearrange debits however they want, as to maximize their penalty income. So now I come to the end of my regions relationship. I ask for a cashiers check for the balance of my closing account, so I can deposit in a better bank. The last F-you, they write a regular check,(now they get to keep my money for 1 last day) instead of a cashiers check which is equivalent to cash. So, even though it is my cash money, I can't get to it for another twenty-four hours. They also (as a policy matter) refused to verify the check they wrote literally fifteen minutes earlier. They stated (to the new bank teller calling to verify) they don't verify their checks over the phone - bank to bank Every single employee I have dealt with in person is great, polite, & easy to work with. However the Regions culture is that of s**** the client, we will take every single ***** in every creative way that we can. They have lost multiple class action lawsuits because they are so dishonest, unscrupulous, and disingenuous. I know banks are obviously in this business for the money, but regions has no moral compass, they don't even pretend to care about their customers.Review fromMat G

1 starRegions Bank skirts Federal Law by being a STATE CHARTER BANK in ********Been trying to get a relatives money back for almost 2 months. They are aware person is over 80 years old and handicapped and they keep stating they will mail the check on secure credit card account that was closed on 7/17/24.Regions is aware the relative has a very difficult time going to a branch but no check for over $1000.If you have to file a complaint, you have to do it through the Alabama Attorney General because the state you live in has no jurisdiction over them. The ********************** has no control either. Also the branch would not accept Power Of Attorney and the branch employee state POAs are not worth the paper they are written on.Even though POA was notarized and signed by the notary. Also, they would not file POA at the time of the credit card application.I suggest never dealing with Regions because they are not what they used to be in the past. Their call centers always want you to go to a branch even if you are old and disabled.Review fromBarclay L

1 starPhone system is horrible!1. Asked for a callback and never received one. Waited 60 minutes for a 12 callback 2. Called them again, awaited a seven minute callback and they called back in 5 minutes. When asked if I was ready to speak press 1 the system never recognized my press of the number one. After three attempts Regions hung up on me.3. I called back and stayed on the line and was told there would be a seven minute wait. Within thirty seconds the time was changed to 10 minutes. They answered after *************************************** to my local branch and identify myself. I understand protecting me but this is ridiculous! Why? A. I had to sign into my account and confirm with a pass code they sent me. B. I had to re-identify myself to set up a zelle account. C. I had to identify myself on the phone with my SSN and a passcode sent to my phone. D. Then I was told I need to identify myself! Are you kidding me! Again, Ridiculous. I will be moving all my accounts. I have banked with regions for over thirty years. Never again!!Review fromPaul C

2 starsDo not like how when you log in and try to make a payment that your only option is to go to a 3rd party site to make it. They also state that enerbank is not responsible. That basically youre on your own. Seems shady. Also makes it hard to check your balance of your home improvement loan to make sure everything is on the up and up.Review fromMs M

1 starI do not recommend this branch location due to their unethical customer service towards me. I am a Black American citizen of the ***. This branch manager ***** ******** refused to serve me because of a personal issue he was having with me protecting my well being by documenting my transaction digitally. I only documented myself speaking to the personnel that was assisting me in this endeavor. No one else. I made the ******************** aware that I was doing so because of the $150 dollars stolen off of my Now Card by Regions bank system. I was disrespected by this manager verbally. The police was called on me. I was then yelled at by the police officers for speaking my peace. I asked the officer not to disrespect me for no reason and she replied "She don't like people over talking other people ". This made no sense seeing that I was not over talking anybody.Review fromAmy b

1 starDo not choose Regions Bank as your financial institution. Several different apps encounter problems when selecting Regions Bank or find that Regions Bank is not even a recognized option. Additionally, if you have your account open for 179 days and not at least 180 days, Regions Bank will withhold at least $25.00 per account without disclosing the information beforehand; they give no warning of this $25 fee for each account. It is not mentioned by their representatives, in the email confirming your account closure, or even in the letter with your cashier's check. Your cashier's check will just be $25 short, or if you have one account with less than a $25 balance, you won't receive a check at all, and you'll have to call to find out. When you do call, after being kept on hold for 15 minutes, they will inform you there is nothing that can be done, so you're just out $25 per account for not waiting a day longer to close your account. Terrible service! Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy giving away money to a bank with dubious practices.Review fromShawn B

1 starSo Regions bought my mortgage without my knowledge and not found out after trying to make a payment to my mortgage company I have been with for over 3 years. Then I get a letter in the mail saying I dont have any insurance and they are going to buy some on my behalf and charge me double what I was already paying. I have owned this house for over 6 years, been in escrow the whole time, NEVER had one issue with insurance. Now I get this letter the month they bought my mortgage telling me to get new insurance, I jump through hoops and get the insurance reinstated. Now the next month I get another letter saying i didnt have insurance from 7/30/2024 a 8/09/2024 and they will have to buy insurance on my behalf for these 8 days from the past and want to charge me an estimated $43 bucks for their failure. Called them, went through their crappy phone list and finally after multiple attempts get someone on the phone that has no idea what Im talking about, she sends me to someone else that has no idea about what is going on but trying to put the blame on me so how. I have one had Regions for 2 months and both months have been something that shouldnt even have been a problem in the first place. Their website *****, their phone service ***** and just glad that i didnt get the credit card they offered after reading all the other complaints on here. After election I will be getting away from Tegions all together but how much more will I have to deal with in the mean time. STAY AWAY from this bank/mortgage company. Horrible and dont bother calling cause they wont have any answers for you and will only deepen your hate for them. What a major unnecessary pain in the ***.Review fromHector C
