I canceled my service 3 weeks ago, after going 5 weeks without service. I was paid through 9/30/24. Throughout the year, I went multiple weeks without service since they took over my old trash company back in January. Today I received a bill with a late fee.Business Response

I was a customer with a local company that CARDS bought out. When we were notified of the transition plans, we obtained trash service from another local company. We never signed up for service with CARDS. I even sent an electronic message through their website confirming that we did not wish to begin service with them.
Then we started receiving bills. We have received 3 bills from CARDS. I’ve called and spoke to customer service 3 times.
I asked to speak with a manager the 3rd time I called. I was told the managers don’t take phone calls. They would have someone call me back. But they only make return calls after 3pm.
Today a CARDS trashcan was dropped off at our house.
The level of incompetence with this company is astronomical. I’m really glad we never signed a contact with them for service. They need to stop billing people who don’t have service with them.Business Response

On September 6th 2024, I called to complain about our trash not being picked up, they had been late or just not shown up for three or four weeks straight. On September 11th I went outside and noticed both of my trash cans were missing. I called the company and they had no record of a driver stealing my trash cans off of my property. My last bill I paid in July and my next one is not due until September 29th. They did bring one of my cans back that day, but I paid for 3 months with two cans, and I've only had one for most of September. I have called at least five times since September 11th, I have been promised four or five different callbacks and received none. I had one employee tell me that there were no managers and nobody in the company outside of call center and truck drivers, multiple employees since then have said that that was a lie. I have been told every business day that I called that the manager is not at work. I was promised four different days that I would have my second can back, by closing that day, and have not received it still as of September 27th 2024. Every time I call them I get a different story from the person who answers the phone. Today, September 27th, is our normal trash pickup day. The driver, yet again, picked up everyone in our neighborhood who is through cards, but tried to drive past ours. As he was leaving we did flag him down and request him take our trash. Every time I have called to complain our trash doesn't get picked up while the rest of our neighborhood does.Business Response

In April 20, 2024 I cancelled service with Cards. They wanted to charge for May and also charge me for removal of the cart that was here. I did not use their services in May and the cart sat at my location four to six weeks before they picked it up. Then Cards turned me over to collection in Florida for the payment in May and the cart removal. I received a notice in the mail four weeks ago. I do not want this on my credit report due them charging for a service that I did not utilize for May.Business Response

During pickup on 9/19/2024, the Cards trash employees took my personal trashcan valued at at hundreds of dollars. I sent photos of the trash can to Cards to verify if it is in the yard. It is a very large bin trash can on wheels with lid. I have been calling for days now and have been told that I cannot speak to dispatch and they can only email dispatch. I was told that the customer service supervisor only takes calls after 3 pm because of the long list of customers she has to call back with complaints. I was told yesterday that they did find my personal trashcan and that it was noted it was delivered to my home the day prior. It has still not been returned back to me.
Have paid for services that were not rendered for weeks at a time. Refused to give a refund and was told it is against Cards policy to refund any customers for any reason. Trash pickup has been more consistent over the last month, but for months prior my trash wasn't picked up for 3-5 weeks at a time. I had to pay to take my trash to the local dump so I didn't have trash sitting at my home for extended periods of time.
Overcharged for a late fee that was put on my account because their customer service rep did not select the option to auto pay even though I setup my account as auto pay. Was told they would not waive the late fee.Business Response

I learned on August 25,2024 that my waste provider had sold out to cards on Facebook. On August 29th I called cards and informed them that even though ***** ****** ***** *** sold them my information I did not want them as my trash hauler. On 8/29/24 I received a bill a bill dated 8/21/24, they told me to disregard the bill since I did not want them as my provider I would not receive another bill.
On 9/11/24 I received another bill dated 9/3/24 now with late fees. Again I called and was told to disregard.

Hello. CARDS recently bought out the company I was using for trash. That company knows as ***** ****** ***** ******* did automatic withdrawals out of my account for payment. My account was charged August 2, 2024 fpr the month of August. I found out the second week of August about the buyout and called to cancel service as I did not want to use a company that isn't local. I then started service with a new company. I have recieved 3 bills with late fees after canceling in August. I called again and spoke with someone at the beginning of September to confirm my cancelation and ask about my bill and was told not to worry about it. I then received a letter about being turned over to collections, so I called again. This company has never picked up my trash, I have never signed a contract, yet they keep billing me and now could ruin my credit by turning me over to collections. All of my efforts at a resolution have gone unresolved and I am very frustrated. This company is a scam and should be invested.Business Response

We stopped our service with Cards Recycling on 7/8. We had not been notified previously of any change in our billing and we decided to go with a different trash company due to this reason. We are also not under any kind of contract with Cards! We called and emailed several times with cards and the last time we spoke on the phone with one of their reps, she stated she had talked to management and they cleared our account balance and their fee to us to pick up THEIR trash cans. We then received this bill and called back and were told nobody can clear an account other than their accounting department, with whom you can not speak to! Not what we were told previously. And stated she would have a manager call us.. we are still waiting on that call! Now they are sending an email threatening to send the bill to collections! Shady business practices when we were told something by their rep and then they still send a bill. They have already picked up their trash cans.. we have not received service from them since 7/8 and will not be paying for a service we never received, especially after someone at their company told us everything was squared away!Business Response

I had Cards trash service and was paying monthly. They changed to paying quarterly but had already missed picking trash up several times. I contacted them told them I didn’t not want to pay quarterly because they were not reliable. They informed me they no longer allowed monthly payments. They came 2 times in August so I canceled them by email and they continued to send me a bill. Now they are threatening to turn me over for non payment when I cancelled the and haven’t used them for the past two months.Business Response

We discontinued service back in May 2024 due to the trash not being picked up. We have continued to receive bills, including late fees, and we requested the account to be closed at least four times since May. We've also requested that they pick up their cart and were told it would be, but it's still sitting here. Now they are threatening to turn us over to a third party collection agency. We asked for a call back from the manager and are not confident that will happen. This is very frustrating and unprofessional. Something needs to be done to stop this company from continuing to treat customers this way.Business Response
