CARDS recycling is trying to get payment from me for services I have never used. I have never, not once, used their trash company. I have been with Taylor’s Trash company since before they started their routes in Seymour, MO. I was with Pederson which Cards bought out, but I immediately switched companies before they were completely bought. I have NEVER been picked up by CARDS. They just sent me a bill for $227 of services I have never used which they are threatening to send to collections over. THIS IS FRAUD.Business Response

The trash ahs been picked up sporadically and have been impossible to get a hold of. When I have gotten a hold of them they refused to refund me. Its been off and on since January and It has been 7 weeks of no trash picked up. According to their policy they do not refund.Business Response

We got cards January or Feburary and for the last 9 weeks they have not been picking up our trash. We have tried to communicate with them multiple times over the course of 7 weeks and finally were able to get a hold of them after run around after run around. We were refunded 7 of the 9 weeks but we have a 20 dollar late fee and they expect us to still pay. They are putting the next three months of payment on the bill but I very much don't want to pay that.Business Response

We received a bill dated 8/1/2024. I cancelled near June 20th. They are still saying we now need to pay for July - September, even though we are no longer customers. They are now charging $60 that they originally took off for six weeks that they missed. They had a total of nine weeks that they didn't pick up our trash. The most recent bill does show the $20 late fee taken off. They are trying to charge us $200 for past fees, late fees and the new July - Sept quarter. We owe them $120 from when they did pick up trash. I am willing to pay the $120 but only that.Business Response

Our waste management company, *** sold their business to Cards and we had no idea until we got a bill from Cards. We stayed with them for a few months and other than one time, they did pick up every week. Then they increased the pricing and wanted to bill quarterly in advance. By this time, numerous complaints were being posted on social media and we didn't feel comfortable paying them so much money upfront, given their track record with other customers and their no-refund policy so we decided to go with another service with lower pricing, better ethics, and canceled. A few weeks later, they canceled the service due to non-payment and started sending invoices for past and future services. Over the past two months, the bill has continued to get higher each time. When we canceled their service, we had a $0 balance with them. They continue to harass both my husband and me with phone calls (voice mail), texts, emails, and Snail Mail wanting us to pay for service we have not received from them for the past two months. Maybe they think if they bother both of us, we will pay. They are threatening to send us to collections as well.
I am 65 years old and I have never done business with a company as horrible as this one. I don't understand what their motive is to buy companies and then not give their built-in customer base the service they are paying for. You can rarely, if ever reach them, and if you do, you get the runaround. My husband thinks it is a front company for illegal activities, but that doesn't make a lot of sense when they don't keep up appearances and do business in a way that would not generate so many complaints and bring scrutiny to their business practices. I don't know why they are so horrible, but we are tired of the harassment. We owe them nothing.Business Response

I cancelled service with this trash service at the beginning of April 2024. Cards had NOT provided me with any services yet for April, May, or June. However, they still expect me to pay for the "service" that I did not receive because they bill ahead of time (mid-March) for the upcoming months. So even though I cancelled before receiving any service for those months, they expect me to pay for those months ($90 plus a $20 late fee). I am asking for you to help me remove this $110 fee and close the account permanently.
I cancelled with them because:
1. They are not reliable with their trash pick up. This is a widespread issue in our entire community.
2. They provide horrible customer service. They are very difficult go get hold of.
3. Their customer service people are extremely rude, condescending, and even hateful.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because it doesn’t resolve anything. Additional note: I am actually asking that they stop BILLING me for April, May, and June. We never paid it because we DID NOT RECEIVE SERVICE. However, we continue to get bills and when I called (2x) to resolve it, they were unwavering and rude that we owed it since they pre-bill.

I am rejecting this response because the business’s response was vague, only stating that they’ve adjusted our account. What exactly does that mean? We received a bill from Cards just yesterday that now shows that we owe them the original $90 plus 2 late fees at $20 each for a total of $130 for services never rendered. I would love to trust that when they say they’ve “adjusted” our account that it is now at $0, over and done with, but that needs to be stated in writing from their end.

I am rejecting this response because: Holding funds for services not rendered is illegal in the state of Texas. While your internal policy may say no refunds, this is against state statue. Your truck missed 3 of the last 5 trash pickups on my scheduled day. There has been no inclement weather that would have affected service. I am not disputing the charge for the month of June due to essentially what is theft of my money since services paid for were not rendered. This is my grounds for not continuing to use your business.

They took over the trash company that we had been using and I told them I didn't want their services anymore. I looked at my account and they made an unauthorized withdrawal of $90 and I never authorized it. My bank will help me with the charges.
