I had unpleasant experience as a returning customer from ********************, while renting RV during my vacation trip in *******. Which I had planned with two childhood friends who one of is coming from **, and the other one coming from Overseas ************. I had a very long mail trail full of arguments, in which I detailed, prooved and explained my suffering story along with damage I received because of the ********************************** Support Agent who was the root cause of my entire story and is representing Cruise America. I spend my maximum with Cruise America explaining all the details behind my experience. however, the franchiser branch D169 was even unhappy and upset about how Cruise America agent was insufficient nor capable to handle our RV - silly & *** issue. and turning himself to the root cause for breaking our vacation.When the branch owner D169 was able to find out the issue and handle it in less than 5 minutes. it turns, the agent made us to stay in the street for two nights over the weekend. hence losing our vacation.I totally detailed all tangible and intangible damages I received because of Cruise America's unprofessional agent. Highly not recommending Cruise America, or trust their service agents.One of my intangible damages, that I lost one of my friends, because he believes its my fault that i choose Cruise America, which turned out this unpleasant experience. he travel 11 hours from overseas to do vacation in *******.Cruise America Inc

Terrible customer service and lack of proper maintenance with their rvs. Rented a Rv from ******, ** to ****. Water leak in bathroom, bad windshield wipers, generator and roof AC went out. *************************, GM in ************** should be fired. He knows nothing about customer service. He states you cant run the generator while traveling. Whats it for then? Its over 100 degrees and I have an elderly mother in law with us. I have owned several rvs and always ran my generator and roof AC and NEVER had a problem. He also says you cant run the roof AC for more than 4 hours with shutting it off for an hour. They dont maintain their rvs and they are old. Corporate customer service said they will discount my ridiculously high rate and call me right back. Never heard back from them. So take my review seriously and dont waste your time and money like I did with renting an Rv from this company.Cruise America Inc

Rented an ** in ******. 90 min later we stopped for gas. Another person at the gas station informed us that we were dragging a hose from the back of the vehicle.We called the ****** office and were told to stop driving and contact the national call center for a mechanic. The ****** office thought the line was related to the generator.We had to ***************** back a second time when another wire that was taped under the vehicle also came loose. The mechanic said he was a general mechanic, not an ** mechanic, and did not know what the lines were for. He secured them under the vehicle so they would not drag on the ground.As it was over 90 degrees that afternoon, it was taking hours to talk with customer service (the national call center initially declined to send a mechanic and asked if we could repair the vehicle ourselves), the generator was not working, and we had a small child, we had to get a hotel room. The generator continued not to work reliably, so we had to stay in hotel rooms during the rest of the trip given the extreme heat.We proceeded east and around ******** the check engine light came on. We called again the 800 number. They had us check the gas cap and cycle the engine on and off. The light went off, but came back on later that day. We were told it was "probably ok."We called multiple times to either have this addressed or to exchange/drop off the ** in ********** before we headed back west. We were told that emails were being sent to customer relations and that someone would call us back, but no one ever called us back. As we needed to return and did not feel safe driving a vehicle with a check engine light on across the country with a small child in the heat of summer, especially one that already had problems, we dropped the rental at the ********** location, rented a car, and again stayed in hotel rooms during our return trip. Negative (-5) star review.Paid Cruise America for the peace of mind advertised on the website. Paid for additional insurance, per day, as advised. Paid in full for 5 days, **** miles, to get to Georgia and home safely.The ******** location, *********************************************************, failed to inspect the transmission fluid before our contracted **** mile trip to Georgia. 24 hours after departing, less than 400 miles driven, gears slipped and the engine failed on the highway. We pulled over to a service area, waited hours for instructions from travel assistance. After doing our own googling- we realized the fluid was bone dry. Called for authority to add fluid- as my contract instructed. Waited another hour for that authority to do so- during a heat advisory. 5 humans and 2 dogs.Cruise America left us stranded for 3 full days in a ******* parking lot. No hookups, nowhere to dump the waste. Days of unkept promises of help from corporate of a replacement. Finally, we called other Cruise America locations on our own to see if they truly werent available as we were being told. Several 30ft trailers available for renting. Cruise America Travel Assistance said we cant have them as replacement. They would prefer to rent those vehicles to future consumers, than get our family home safely. We missed our trip. We spent 3 days in a ******* parking lot begging to speak to a manager. He wasnt available to speak with us. I took his number from the tow truck driver that came to tow our broken down rental, after he spoke to him in front of us. Available to end the clock on the tow- but not to help my family. I was told for days that I can accept the replacement and 3 complimentary days (not the 4 owed) to finish my trip. (No longer having the time off of work to make it after being stranded). Or- I can cancel my contract and my whole family will be abandoned in ********** with our belongings. Employees were made aware that our waste tank is filling. I saved up all year for this vacation and it was absolutely horrible from day one!! The 340 mile ride to mammoth was so hot in the back of the ** I had the generator on for the ** Ac and the kids were sweating the whole way the whole family had to crowd by the front to get the drivers AC to try to keep cool a complete waste of $3.50 hour Generator time when the ** AC unit does not cool down ** at All!! First night at our camp site the fridge went out completely roughly 10pm we tried everything to get it ************* no luck I had 9 dinners in the freezer going bad not to mention all the food in fridge we had no reception to call for help!!! Day two got fridge back on moved to our next destination had lunch Ham sandwiches from the fridge by that night I was so sick from a stomach ache from the ham that had went bad the night before we were very scared to eat anything out of the fridge and freezer throughout our trip the fridge went off and on 100 times when we had service we would call for assistance we were told at one point that we would drive at least 2 hours for a service department to fix the issue and would potentially wait in a waiting room for a few hours to be fixed then have to drive back to our camp!!!! H*** no that was not happening our next option was buying a ice chest and ice throughout our 9 day vacation even though all of our Food had been ruined that we spent $462 before leaving home!! Needless to say by the beginning of day 2 I wanted to return home we lost all our food the rv ac was garbage we were so uncomfortable unfortunately we had reservations at multiple different campgrounds all through mammoth that we couldnt get refunded for so we pushed through hitting up fast food when available and grocery stores to get the necessities to keep cool on ice it was such a hassle everything was a hassle we ended up leaving 2 days early from our vacation I just couldnt take it any longer such a complete let downCruise America Inc

Were 4 day into a 13 day trip and our generator wont work. Weve called travel assistance over 20 times in the last 24 hours and they will not even call back. We have a family of 5 and 2 dogs in the summer heat with paid reservations to our destinations. Weve been told a ***** repair would come to our camp site and wed get a rental car, but then they all of a sudden closed our case and still never called us back. Weve called yet again had the case reopened and still cant get a call back or help with this situation. A cruise America representative with their travel assistance literally told me to cram my family of 5 and 2 dogs in the cab of the ** so we had ACthis is literally the most illegal and unsafe thing Ive ever heard of from a company. Weve paid over $10k organizing and reserving things for this trip in the last year all to have it start falling apart in a matter of 4 days. I highly dont recommend using this company for your vacation their travel assistance is a crime in itself.Cruise America Inc

We are three days into our trip, and the ** started making an extremely loud noise when pressing the gas. We called the Cruise America support center and it took them hours to call us back. Finally they responded to us by providing a garage to which we were supposed to take the ** and have it checked. We sat at the garage for hours to find out that it is the Catalytic Converter, and the garage will not have the part until tomorrow. We have been trying to call support since, and they basically tell us we just have to wait. The garage has NOT received approval to order the part yet, and we are just sitting here on our vacation at a garage with no support or answers and servicing THEIR truck. I have called the center almost in tears as we are in a very scary area of ******** with our dog and cat and unsure of what we are to do. Since we have received no response, we rented a spot near the garage that is literally in a mobile home lot behind a gas station. This is so unsafe. I feel they are putting us in danger. And I still can not get in touch with the Supervisor for answers or next steps.Cruise America Inc

I recently rented the large ** from Cruise America in ******, ********** for a 7-day family vacation, and I must say, our experience was extremely disappointing. From the onset, our encounter with the company was less than satisfactory. The representative (a Hispanic lady with a sleeve arm tattoos) who showed ** the ** rushed through the introduction in just 5 minutes, even though she knew it was our first time renting. Her attitude was mean, rude and unpleasant, which started our trip on a sour note.The ** itself was a far cry from what was pictured online. It was visibly old and lacked key features that are essential for a comfortable journey, including a USB port to charge our phones and for navigation. We also discovered critical issues such as a broken driver-side mirror that would not stay in position fem to look out of, which made driving dangerous. To add to our discomfort, we had no hot water for the duration of our trip, a fact that made our journey quite miserable for my wife and kids.When we called their helpline, their solution was for us to disrupt our vacation and drive two hours to a repair shop. The idea of spending a precious day of our trip at a dirty auto shop was frustrating and impractical.On return, we hoped to address these issues with the company. However, we were met with the same unhelpful and dismissive attitude from the same lady. A very ugly and mean spirited person. Requests to speak with a manager were brushed off with excuses about him being busy.Also, be aware of numerous hidden fees and upselling tactics when going to pick up your ** if you are unfortunate enough to find a different company. They appeared to be more interested in nickel-and-diming us than providing a satisfactory service.In short, our experience with Cruise America was far from the enjoyable family vacation we had envisioned. Between customer service, the quality of the **, I would strongly caution anyone considering renting from Cruise America to think twice.Cruise America Inc

On 11/19/22 our family rented an RV from Cruise America for a one-way trip to *******. We picked up the unit in **************, **. and when we arrived at ******, ** to refuel, unknown to us, was that the gas filler pipe just above the gas tank had been vandalized cut through, so that when I attempted to refuel, gas was flowing over the tank and onto the ground. We were advised by Cruise Americas Travelers Assistance to remain in Sparks until a replacement could be found for us to continue. It was three days before a replacement was delivered and we were able to resume our trip. The total costs we incurred for the delay was $1004.40. The original contract amount was $2126.70 with a refundable security deposit of $500.00 and a non refundable deposit of $300.00, leaving a balance of $1326.70 with the refund of the security deposit. Instead we were charged an additional three days of rental for a total of $2031.63 with no return of the security deposit. The original contract should be honored and we should be reimbursed for the extra costs incurred by ** while waiting for a replacement vehicle, including RV campsites, the cost of the gas that was spilled and the extra we were charged for a trailer we were pulling with another vehicle traveling with us. Throughout this ordeal we spoke with Cruise Americas travelers assistance as well as the agents from ********** and *******. All of them assured ** that we would be fully reimbursed for the expenses incurred for the delay caused by the vandalism. Unfortunately this was not the case as the agent (*****) in customer relations would only go so far as to offer us a credit for a future rental with them of $601.62. This amount was their full and final offer after several attempts for reimbursement with receipts for our expenses submitted. As I explained to him - this was a one time trip to move to a new home. We had never rented an RV before this and will not be renting one in the future.Cruise America Inc

Terrible!! First; charging for hour use of the generator was not mentioned in the estimate before I rented it. It was not disclosed until I picked it up. It cost $187 more for 35 hours due to using the ac in *******. That does not include the gas used by the generator. Second; poor maintenance! I picked up the 7 passenger ** with empty grey and black tanks. It turned out that's the Grey tank sensor was dysfunctional and read full after only washing hands twice and a quick on off shower. Turns out the shower was also partialy clogged. I was forced to empty out twice in 2 days and could no longer use the shower! $80.Third, the black tank valve leaked excessively after first use leading to stinking up neighbors site. It was on black top so the sun made it intolerable. My sister and young niece were forced to use unclean public facilities for 6 days because they could'nt use the shower or toilet! **************** never called me back after reporting these issues! After I returned the ** the renting agent said they couldn't help with the regund and to contact customer relations. Turns out there is no phone number for that office, only email!! So I emailed them and didn't hear anything for 10 days. I requested a 40% refund per day. I thought it was reasonable because I paid $103 per day without use of toilet or shower. They only gave me $160 for the entire rental and said it was final! This company doesn't care about you or your family or what inconvenience they cause from their poor equipment and service.Cruise America Inc

Hello ****, We apologize for your last experience with us, and for the confusion with the generator hours. This is listed on our website and mentioned in your rental agreement signed a pickup. However, we will remind this location to be clear on the generator hours and charges that *** apply when it is in use. What ends up happening with the sensors is when there is something covering the sensor. This renders it full simply because its covered. The way to remedy this situation is to dump warm soapy water down the sink and drive around for a couple of minutes to clear the sensor. This also works with the black water tank. We take all reviews very seriously and will use this as a training toll to better serve our customers in the future, thank you for taking the time to leave valuable feedback regarding your trip.-Cruise America
