Total scam. I reserved a hotel room and then got an email thanking me for purchasing protection from a company I've never heard of. When I clicked on the link to get a partial refund, I was informed I had timed out. How is it possible that this company isn't in serious legal trouble?

I booked a room for my brother's wedding at a local *****************. The total when checking out was 400 give or take. After the transaction was complete I received a statement saying I was charged $749 for my stay. This reflects on a withdrawal from credit card in the same amount. Apparently I was also charged $58 dollars for refund protection. When I called customer service to get a refund the lady refunded my refund protection plan money and now it says I can't get a refund anymore. I have since gone to another local hotel website and booked the same dates and the total was $423. This company is running a scam and ripping people off.Protecht Inc

Just like perhaps all others here I believe the company and its associated parties are nothing short of being scam artists. I incidentally called a toll free number that I though was for a hotel. But, it wasn't and when they answered the phone they didn't announce the company name. I asked for the group rate that had been setup for my family reunion, but they promptly said there was no rooms available for that party. So, I went to hang up, but was led to "reserve" a room since it wqas a holiday room that I would later cancel once I tried another number. One thing led to another and I booked a room thinking I would be able to cancel that room up to 24-hours before the check-in day. Skip to a few days later and they won't cancel nor refund any of my monies although I initially was told that per their policy I qualified to cancel. A few days later and now they tell me I don't qualify per their policy and WILL NOT get a refund. I'm being compliant although angered at possibly losing my $500+. Plus the hotel says they can't do anything about it. Is there any recourse to getting a settlement out of this per anyone's knowledge?Protecht Inc

They scammed me, auto charging me without my consent as I rented a hotel room online. Then, after I had completed the purchase (of the hotel room), they sent me info on their "service." When I tried to cancel or get my money refunded they said I was outside the return policy window. Essentially, they charged me without my consent and then stated I could not get a refund because I had already got the hotel room.Protecht Inc

This company is a fraud. My daughter was supposed to be in a softball tournament in ************** this past weekend. It started on Thursday and was to go till today, I spend 1098 for those days. The city of Virginia canceled the tournament due to the hurricane and bad weather. When I talked to the woman she said this would be covered but I still have to do the refund request. I did everything including putting the email we got from the tournament director. I get an email saying it was declined. I live in ************, everything was canceled, why am I not getting my money back. Oh and I have been asking someone what else I need to prove that I should get my money back and they keep saying to submit evidence, and only through email. I need this money back, I am a single mother getting ready to send my kid to college, I cant lose over a thousand dollars.Protecht Inc

I am trying to process my refund request and upload documents for a refund. I cant get through at all by attachment or call. They responded to begin with but then went ghost. I am unable to travel tomorrow as I am having surgery today. It was unexpected to be this quick but the episodes increased. I made reservations for a hotel room for my cousin's August 2024 wedding in ***********, ********. I followed the link via "The Knot." The next day I received an email from Protecht stating that I had purchased cancellation insurance for $17.61--which I had not knowingly done at all. My sister and others had also been charged this mysterious amount. What a scam!! I started to follow another link from the email in order to cancel it, but that also seemed like a scam--and I stopped before following it to the end. I called the hotel, and they said my reservation had been made through Expedia--and that Protecht must be a parasite connected to them. This additional fee for NOTHING is incredibly disappointing. I would like to have this resolved for me and all of my relatives that this happened to as they were reserving a hotel room for a very important day!Protecht Inc

ZERO STARS. The responses by Protecht are disingenuous at best. I tried to cancel my coverage within 3 hours of purchasing it for $69.00. The cancellation coverage is a FIVE PAGE CONTRACT that basically states you can't cancel the covered reservation. I lost $889.00 because of Protecht. This company is a scammer operation in my opinion.Protecht Inc

I booked a ***************** through them for $209 and after I did they added a fee of $340.28. The total came to $549.28. It was for ONE night. I canceled immediately but didn't get any money back. I guess $340.28 was for some sort of taxes. My credit company tried for a refund too. Nope never happened. Beware of the company!!!! Bad to the bone!!Protecht Inc
