      Protecht is a horrible company to do business with. The charges for this service are added to your bill without your acknowledgement. They are all empty promises, they PROMISE to call you back and resolve the issues. READ their refund policy, you can't win. You are better off to dispute the charge through your credit card issuer. If you see Protecht on ANY of your bill, immediately cancel the transaction. You can get much better cancellation policies through the hotel itself, Expedia, etc.

      Protecht is a misleading scam. Don't use it. They refused a refund for A unused motel stay. When you try to call them, there recording just sends you to a website, you never get a person. Very frustrating and scammed out of $400.

      I called thinking I was calling a hotel to make a reservation.This company uses deception making you think you are making a reservation with the hotel. I made a reservation and specifically asked if I needed to cancel my reservation, could I do that? I was told as long as I canceled 2 days prior to arrival it would be no problem. I tried to cancel and I am getting nowhere with this company. It should not take 3 days to resolve this and cancel my reservation. Something needs to be done about this company. As you can see by the many complaints listed here they are scamming people out of money.

      They are the worst and will not provide refunds at all. They make the terms for a refund ridiculously difficult. I highly recommend staying away from this company.

      I believe that Protecht Inc is borderline fraudulent. I booked a reservation for a motel room. When my reservation confirmation came back, there was an added charge tacked on by Protecht Inc for Tax Recovery and Fees that I never asked for. I tried to contact them and was told by their email telling me where to call. Every attempt to reach them was blocked. They emailed me a case number and said that a dedicated associate would contact me within 3 business days. They never called me back. I resolved the matter by cancelling my original booking.

      FanShield is a scam! Do not use them! They will not process your refund. Nobody on the phone can resolve your issue nor can they answer ANY questions. All they tell you is that they will relay your refund concern to a "specialist" and someone will get back in touch with you. But they never do. They are scamming and need to be out of business immediately.

      This a total scam. I reserved a room for 4 days at the ************** ***************** to visit a grandson and great granddaughter's birthday on May 29 through June 2. Then, the day before our departure, tornados, high winds, and hail ravaged the ******/********** area to the point that Gov. ***** declared the county a disaster area. Why would I knowingly drive into an area declared a Disaster with continuous rolling blackouts? I then tried to cancel my reservation through the hotel and get my money returned through this Protecht outfit. What a joke! I'll never make another reservation to any location that uses this company.

      SCAM!! The actual policy sent to me after purchase was different than I was lead to believe. (Per the policy received, adverse weather after the start of the event causing a 2 hour or longer delay will be covered UP TO $50 PER TICKET, NOT the amount spent on the ticket. PROTECHT CHARGED $49+ FOR EACH TICKET!!! - meaning they would only refund the cost of the insurance and not actually pay for the loss!Within 24 to 25 hours of my email account receiving the policy, and immediately after opening it and reading it, I followed their instructions to cancel the policy for a full refund. Per their website, a refund should have been issued within 2 days. After 5 days, I emailed them asking about my refund I received an automated email stating they would respond within 3 business days, which is today.They took my money *immediately* over a week ago, and have ignored my requests for a refund despite my cancellation request having met all of their requirements. Avoid them at all costs

      Made on-line reservation for ******************* and Casino in ****, ** for mid-June. The reservation forced me to purchase cancellation insurance ($ 7.75) which you are only made aware of after entering your credit card to make the reservation. About 15 mins after making my reservation I noticed that the date was incorrect - i needed a reservation for 6/15/24 departing 6/16/24 ( instead of 6/16/24 to 6/17/24). I sent a live chat message 15 minutes after making the reservation asking if the reservation could be adjusted without cancelling and re-booting like ALL major hotels and booking agencies will do for honest mistakes! The reply I received was that the only way to revise the reservation was to cancel and re-book. So I cancelled and was refund all except the $ 7.75 insurance fee. This is just not right and I will NEVER make another reservation should "BookOn-Line.com" or "PROTECHT" appear anywhere on the reservation page. This is basically a scam of offering the appearance of cancellation insurance but making the terms so difficult or impossible to meet, as other posters have identified, that you are force to eat this insurance cost to order to cancel the reservation!! Beware you are lining the pockets of an unethical business that are not at all offering cancellation insurance!
