They sent my mother a letter claiming they were part of her home mortgage lender and that if she didnt sign up for their services she was going to lose the house. She felt she had no choice, signed up and paid 50 dollars to start. They had an agreement to pay 150 a month. She got her first bill last week saying it was 200 a month and very clearly not from her bank lender. When calling they were rude and only gave her verbal confirmation that it was canceled. She was to be charged on September 29th, even after explaining when signing up she could only pay on the 3rd of the month due to her fixed income. I was also on the plan and they said they could only speak to her even though she was almost in tears. We got a book saying what they cover is only appliances and the agent only talked about when our house breaks how we wont be covered, even though they only cover appliances. They are preying on the poor elderly and confusing them saying its a requirement of their home loan when it is obviously not. The agent didn't say anything about a refund and didn't want to help, was short with her and just tried to use scare tactics to keep her spending money she didnt have. Even if we do not get a refund we wanted to add a formal complaint with the BBB against this company. I see from the list of reviews she was not the only one to fall for this. Thank you. They dont even give you a full address, this website says AZ the paperwork we received says CA. Just all around liars.Initial Complaint

I purchased a new home and received the attached letter in the mail. The letter itself is deceptive and urges the recipient to call immediately, and the voucher is not a check, which is highly misleading. The phone number listed is **************, which I believe this business has used several different 800 numbers. On August 7, 2023, I called the number and said I was not interested so please take me off the mailing list. From there, the person on the phone said he wanted to ask me a series of questions. I refused, saying I was not obligated to answer. Next, he started trying to sell me a home warranty despite me saying multiple times that I was not interested. I asked if he could please remove me from the mailing list, and he said he couldn't do that because he is only the "activation department." I asked who deals with mailing then, and he said the "mailing department." I asked to be transferred there, and he refused. Not only is it problematic that there is no way to be removed from a mailing list, his repeated attempts to sell me something when I expressed that I wasn't interested is a violation of my boundaries. The advertising is also highly misleading, the attached letter doesn't list the company name and is made to look like official mail. To protect other home owners, I truly believe this company should be shut down.Initial Complaint

I was contacted about a home warranty program in which I told them I would think about it. (05/01/23) They took down my information and later charged me $100. I called several days later and told them that the home warranty policy was not needed and that I wanted it canceled and refunded the money they took. They claimed the $100 was to reserve the discounts. A month later on 06/02/23, they proceeded to take another ****** out of my account. I called again to receive a refund in which they informed me that they never canceled the policy. I have no use for the warranty, and havent made any claims. Therefore, I want to receive my refund after a shady business practice. They didnt listen the first time when I told them to cancel.Business Response

I have attached a letter I wrote to them last year. They told me when I was upset about the services they did NOT provide under our platinum protection plan that I could cancel and request a refund. Even though they demanded automatic withdrawals from our account in order to have the Home Warranty they were not as courteous. They told me to write a letter to request the refund in detail. That they would only issue a partial refund and it would take 4-6 weeks to process. It has been two years and every time I call them to check on the status of the refund they tell me I am on a list with no update as to when my refund will be issued. Not having this money in our current economy has been a financial burden and strain on our household. I would like to see your help to assist getting our refund paid. As well as letting the world know that this company is extremely high priced, does not have coverage like they describe and does not have follow through for reimbursement.Initial Complaint

I received a notice that my home warranty was about to expire and I need to call immediately. This company has the name of our mortgage carrier and looks very official. I searched the internet for their phone number and found this is a scam...many people paid them and it's not legit. I am writing this to let someone know they are apparently continuing to try to scam other people despite the fact there are numerous complaints...here is another complaint. Someone needs to stop them. Thank youInitial Complaint

This fraud company sent us a scammy junkmailing indicated they pried into our mortgage information to try and sneakily solicit one of their worthless scam home warranties. They send a letter with wording indicating we have a warranty with our lender. They do this to try and fool people into buying a worthless scam home warranty from them because to be honest would mean no business.
