      DO NOT RENT A UNIT FROM THE ********* Location! ***** Westheimer! I purchased a ********** from the office when I signed up to rent a storage. A few months later I returned to my storage to find that my lock was not on it and a new lock was put on in its place. I was NOT GIVEN any notice of this. Who does this?? The lock that was put on my storage was a circular lock that they sell in the office. Of course, when I went to the office to inquire NO ONE knew what happened. Amazing! and nothing was documented in my file about the lock being changed. The manager looked over the top of the storage while he was on a ladder and I told him what was in there, he said "Oh yeah everything is in there." The lock had to be cut off- it took forever - I was confident that my belongings were there, so I left and came back the next day after they told me they would put a new lock on and leave the key in the office. To make a very long, fishy story short ALL of my belongings were stolen. An entire house full of furniture. I filed a police report and am also having difficulty getting the managers to let us look at the cameras. My entire life was stolen- TVs, king size bedroom sets m(2), grandmothers antique furniture, sentimental items, etc, and no one seems to care...

      Complaint Regarding Storage Rental Experience at ************************************************************ I am filing this complaint regarding my experience with U-Haul Storage on **********************************, **. I have been a loyal customer since 2010 and have consistently paid my rental fees on time, despite several price increases over the years. Recently, due to ongoing rate hikes and an upcoming move out of state, I decided to vacate my unit prior to my next rental cycle.I moved out of the unit three days before the next billing date and had anticipated a prorated refund for the unused days, as is common practice in many storage agreements. However, when I inquired about this with a staff member (******), I was informed that prorated refunds are no longer offered. At no point during my rental agreement or prior interactions was I made aware of this policy ********* addition to the disappointing lack of refund, I experienced numerous inconveniences throughout my time renting at this facility. The automated entrance was frequently locked, requiring me to track down staff to gain access. Staff presence at the front desk was inconsistent, and on the day I moved out, some employees appeared to be socializing with contractors rather than assisting customers. These behaviors reflect a lack of professionalism and disregard for customer service standards.Given my long history with this company, I found the handling of my final days with the facility both disrespectful and discouraging. I feel compelled to share this experience so others can make informed decisions when choosing a storage provider.I respectfully request that the company revisit its policy on prorated refunds and consider a reimbursement for the unused days I paid for but did not occupy the unit.

Im truly sorry for the frustration and inconvenience you experienced during your time at our facility.Ive gone over your rental agreement from August 14, 2010, and unfortunately, it does state that refunds for unused days arent provided if the unit is vacated after the rent due date for that month. To ensure transparency, Ive emailed you a copy of the agreement for your records.While Im unable to issue a refund for the unused days, Ive sent you a gift certificate in a separate email as a gesture of apology. Its valid for two years and can be used toward any U-Haul products or services.Your loyalty since 2010 means a great deal to us, and I hope this small token helps in some way.

      The ceiling are falling in, we saw four storage units with missing ceiling panels. Property will definitely be damaged. Found a decent unit and now they want more money.

      Location:********************************************* Our 2nd day of having the storage, while lifting the door to my unit our air fryer fell out and broke. So my 18 year old daughter went to place it in the trash. The worker that cleans in the facility stopped my daughter and was fussing at her about placing it in the trash. My daughter apologized because we had no clue that there was a separate place to dispose of those items. I was upset because she approached my child, instead of addressing me. So after that interaction my girls and I have been walking on egg shells there. I have to be sure to keep record of the area around my unit because they said we left a mess. Emotionally drained and anxiety is what I feel when I come there now. So on Thursday 6/19/2025, I come to put some of our belongings away but was denied access. So, I went to the office to ask if I could swap out some of our belongings. I was told I'd get only 30 minutes. I have 2 teen girls, they both have jobs and school, so we do that a lot. Never have I ever been notified of this particular policy, ever. So to keep the peace, I complied OK, so on 6/20/2025(FRIDAY), My 18 year old needed her work clothes. So she went to the office to ask if she could get a few things out. Her name is on the account as well. She broke down crying because of the frustration of asking could she retrieve her work uniform. She was already running late for work. "Storage Facility Manager" get into a heavy discussion about it. Tired of being poked by the staff. I had enough. I always pay my fees. She even mentions loudly that I had a balance. I previously tried to change my storage payment date but was told I'd have to pay 1 of the months in advance so I didnt change it. Even one of their co-workers, still in uniform, made comment in reference to my ****. Never mentioned it, was just afraid the attitude with staff would get worse.

      I rented a truck and equipment/appliance dolly. I got to the truck and the dolly was not in the truck and could not be provided to me on site. Attempting to cancel and get a refund has been difficult and *************** can a company charge me for 2 products, not provide 1 of the products paid for, and then be unable to refund me in the same day when I havent used any equipment?

      I have a storage unit in the ************************************************************************. Location. I always pay online, but recently they blocked my email according to the call center which I completed my payment through. I still have not received a receipt and can still not access my account online to review payments. The location does not answer the phone regularly(maybe 1/20 times that Ive called did I actually get through, several times they hung up as soon as they answered. Since I work with it if town for long periods I cannot just head over there to deal with this. I dont not have clarification from this location on why they have done this. Last time email was June 2nd for payment reminder but as of today even with completing my payment on the phone through the call center(everyone was very polite and decent to deal with) I have no receipt as theyve done something to my account so that I cannot sign in online with my phone number or email. Ive had this unit at this location since about 2013 or so.

This change was necessary because you werent receiving the verification PIN via email.       I rented a U-Haul for my company and because my boss was paying they decided to overcharge him now you always saying I owe them a thousand something dollars they basically put on the report and made a false report saying that I got into an accident when I never got into an accident the only thing that happened was the right passenger mirror came off got taken off by mistake I was on college campus I already knew it was a mistake called U-Haul they fixed it and then said the next morning that I owe them ***** for wrecking the truck I never wrecked that truck and they gave me a wrecked truck to begin with and try to get over on me I wish we could do a class action lawsuit against U-Haul

      Id personally steer clear of U-Haul based on my own experience. They try to make their prices look unbeatable, but theres a lot they dont tell you upfront.For starters, the truck I rented was supposedly a 15-foot vehicle. Turns out, the main cargo space was only 12 feet, and the extra 3 feet came from something called a Moms Atticbasically a small overhead compartment thats just 3 feet high and barely fits 150 pounds. Definitely not what I expected when I planned the move.When I picked the truck up, it was dirty insidebits of plastic scattered on the floorand despite their $25 fee for returning it unswept, they clearly dont bother cleaning them before handing them over. To top it off, the windshield was covered with bird p*** that made it hard to see clearly.While the truck didn't break down, I was genuinely worried it might. The engine made strange banging and squealing noises, and it just didnt drive smoothly. I was on edge the whole time.And about that great priceU-Haul shows you a low rate all the way through the reservation process, but what they dont mention until the very end is that it doesnt include sales tax. Theyre the only rental company Ive seen do that, and its the only reason they seem cheaper than the rest.Honestly, Id recommend going with a different company. This experience left me frustrated and felt like they scam their customers.

About the pricing, I realize it can be frustrating to see taxes added at the end of the reservation process. Unfortunately, we are required by law to collect taxes, but I assure you the shopping cart does display these amounts prior to booking. As for the cargo space, I know expectations are key when planning a move, and I regret that the layout wasnt what you anticipated. We do include diagrams with approximate measurements on our website.Ive personally added the details from your review to the existing complaint and see a manager already addressed them.****, I genuinely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration you experienced.       First I order u boxes. They never show. Uhaul says they tried calling me but they tried calling me on an old number. ****** require you fill out a pre delivery form that ask if there is a safe place to drop boxes and etc. I provided my correct number and never logged into my old account to reserve. So I know they never looked aty number. Then I had to get a truck or I would be late getting to my new job. I recently got a 10 foot truck from ****** to where I am. When I go to turn the truck in they call the ************* and put me on the phone with the Tucson guy, ********* *. Telling me that they accidently refunded me the 1900 for the truck. I told him I wasn't paying him because I haven't gotten the 1900. He said I had to pay. I told him he can either take me to court or wait for me to get the refund. He then charges my account anyway after I get off the phone with him. I have a friend. Who works for uhaul and multiple uhaul employees have told me for long trips they give you the worst truck possible so if it breaks down it gets fixed faster. Moral of the story is no one should ever trust uhaul or their employees. They are a terrible company with terrible employees that get away with BS because they have the cheapest, low sitting, with ramp trucks. They know it so they will continue to s**** people over. Now I am a homeless veteran, with a family of 5, and a banking account with -400 because uhaul has charged me a total of 3300 for one truck that wasnt even worth a quarter of that because it was a POS falling apart

      So uhaul messages me back. They say they inspected the 10 ft truck I am complaining about and that there was nothing wrong with it. The plastic on the hood by the windshield wiper was flopping around the whole time. The part that attached the exhaust to the truck was broken so every car insurance you go into sounded like it was going to break off. The plastic dash board was coming apart. I could push the pedal all the way to the floor and it wouldn't go faster than 65. Another issue I have is that this review was for uhaul in ***************. So how did they personally inspect the truck in ********* LA? Then they said that the refund was processed the same day and that I had the money when they charged me 1500 again. Problem with that is, even though they processed it on the same day does not mean that I got the money the same day. They sent me into the negatives and I only got 1600 of the 1900 to make up for the negative. At the end of the day there are federal and state laws to protect consumers from this same situation. It is illegal to take money out of someone's account without their consent and knowledge. Which meanss uhaul and their employees, ********** are in fact criminal!
