I donated blood at Vitalant in ************, ** a few times. Since then my health needs have changed and my doctor has requested that I not give blood anymore. Over the course of the past year I have received 100+ phone calls from Vitalant hounding me about coming in to donate. They use multiple numbers so when I block the number of their last call, they just use a different number and call me again the next day. I just want the calls from them to stop.Business Response

My husband donated blood many years ago through Vitalant. He gave them my phone number and they call me constantly. They also use multiple local numbers so, if you block one, they will call you on another. It is harassment at this point. I want them to stop calling me.Business Response

I signed up to give blood through my church and disclosed my personal information to Vitalant. Over the last several months I have received calls at least 4-5 days a week, sometimes multiple times a day from Vitalant. Every time I receive a call, I block the number. I called their customer service number today and requested for them to remove all of my personal information and to never contact me again.Business Response

Your automated calling system needs to either be modified or replaced. I signed up to donate blood through my church the first week of July. Vitalant was the vendor running the blood drive, and I submitted my personal information in order to donate. Subsequently, I received calls multiple times a week, all hours of the day, and on several occasions multiple calls in one day. Each time I would block the incoming number; however, the system continued to dial me from a different number. After blocking approximately 20 different numbers, I finally called customer service to speak with a representative about removing all of my personal information from their system. These calls were disruptive and harassing. For an organization that markets itself as philanthropic in nature, your calls are as welcome as the Amway lady selling makeup door-to-door.Business Response

I receive calls nearly daily from Vitalant to schedule a donation. I cannot donate because I am pregnant and additionally I no longer live in a city with a Vitalant. Despite blocking the caller, telling them to remove me from the call list, and even reaching out to their Privacy Officer, I am still getting calls. This is literally harassment at this point and I beyond frustrated. This tactic on their part makes me never want to donate blood again.Business Response

I work for a healthcare facility, so I am very well aware of the importance of blood donation, but Vitalants marketing strategy needs to be changed. I have said for years that I will NEVER donate again until they stop harassing me. I get so many calls and even when you block the number they just call from another number (typically with the same digits except for the last 2). Today I received one call and let it go to VM, and 21 minutes later they called back again. Out of frustration I answered the phone and kindly asked to be removed from the call list. When the representative inquired why I advised that they call too much. I explained that another call had come in a short time before and he got annoyed and basically told me I was a liar because his records dont reflect that. You cannot convince me that Vitalants records/ software do not log every phone call or every blood donation. Why do you call people who just donated? Why do people never actually get removed from your call lists after countless requests? Do not call me again.Business Response

Vitalant calls me at least once a week minimum, but usually more frequently than that. They call from different numbers, so when I block a number, they'll just call from another. It's always the same robotic message from "*****." I sent the company a message via their online form to stop contacting me at my number, and I submitted a complaint to the National Do Not Call Registry. These calls have changed from a nuisance to almost harassment, and they have to stop now.Business Response

Since donating blood to Vitalant over a year ago I have received hundreds of unwanted calls. I asked many times to be removed from the calling list, and was promised that I would be, only to still receive calls. These calls sometimes occur multiple times a day, and we are given no way of stopping them. I have tried blocking numbers, but they call from rotating phone numbers which makes it impossible to stop. *** had to set my phone to send all unknown numbers to voicemail. These never end and have become a nuisance to the point of harassment. In fact, lying to me multiple times about removing my name, rotating the phone numbers they are calling from, and calling so often are the exact things that illegal scam calls do. Why anyone would donate blood to this company more than once is beyond me, it is so bad I actively recommend people donate to literally any other company. Why a company would harass the people it depends on is beyond me, but it has to stop. Not removing people from the calling list when requested is in direct violation of FCC protections and a complaint with them will be my next stop.Business Response

I get robo calls from this company over and over and over. I asked to be be put on a do not call list and the lady I spoke with insisted that the only way to do this was to login to their website to opt out. I do not have an account with them therefore I have no way to login to remove my phone number. They constantly spoof numbers so every one I block, another number comes through. They are belligerent and rude. How am I supposed to resolve this? They are a blood donation company and I will NEVER donate again through them for this reason.Business Response

There was unauthorized access to my personal data. The unauthorized access resulted in a non confirmed address change; to which was not by me, a known person or person of relation to myself. The business had provided me award points and I had used those appropriately to redeem a hero cup for donation. A week from receiving the cup, by **** mail, a person within their business emailed me to state my address was incorrect and they were trying to mail a letter, returned mail, containing sensitive medical information. The letter, which is undoubtedly providing false medical information about a blood donation is interpreted as there is tampering and illegal kickbacks within the business. The records within their system compared to my blood donation will not match my PCP medical historyBusiness Response

Id like detail profile changes from my donation. Who accessed, who adjusted, and correspondence regarding my name, ssn, address and phone number. Especially since there is concern with my blood donation. A representative stating I am ineligible to donate yet I have no record of ACTUAL medical diagnosis or concern from professionals.Business Response

Hello *******,
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to research this matter further. Again, I truly apologize for the alarm and frustration that our communication has caused. I searched your donor profile history and did not see any updates or changes to the address since the date you were registered to donate with Vitalant. Then I contacted our vendor that shipped your tumbler. Our vendor will ship products to our donors based on the address that was submitted onto their website and not from our donor system. This leads me to believe that we incorrectly entered your address at the time of your registration. We will be sure to provide continued training and coaching for our staff members to prevent these errors from happening in the future.
I have asked our Medical Affairs Team to send the correspondence to your correct address. This correspondence will include detailed information as well as a contact phone number to assist with any further questions you have may have.
I sincerely hope this discovery will put your mind at ease. I understand it may take some time to regain your trust in our abilities, and we will work hard to prove our dedication to towards providing vital donor care.
We thank you again for answering our call for donation support.
