Let me start by saying I've always used Discount Tires for tires and I've never been treated this way. On Friday 8/23/24 I purchase to Pirelli tires online and then called the Discount Tires at **************************************** to see if they had them in stock and when I can come in. They told me that they had the tires and I can come in a hour. I get there and they tell me they only have one and that I had to come back the next day for the second one. They put one tire on and end up breaking the tire sensor on my car. So now the sensor is reading 0 when it's a new tire. I let them know and they tell me it should go off in 24hrs, which is not true and they refuse to fix it. At this point I call corporate and they have the store manager ****** call me the next day. He says they didn't break it, the battery might be dead. But he was not there the day the tire was installed. He tells me to bring it back in for the third day and the guy that put on the tire hands him the sensor as soon as he mentions my car. He then acts like the guy just took it off the car. But I had already taken it to another Discount Tire location and they said they were unable to detect the sensor. I also just picked up my car from **** the day prior to this for warranty repairs and they gave me a receipt with everything that the warranty fixed and things that needed to be fixed but were not covered by the warranty, The tire sensors were never mentioned. He then says he put on another sensor but did not have the proper machine to program it. Now all my sensors are fluctuating up and down. He told me there is nothing he can do about it, after I just spent $695.21 on two tires and the warranty on the car. It is very inconvenient that I had to bring my car up there for 3 days straight and still leave with a broken sensor. On top of that they broke the lug nuts on car so they had to replace them. The manager is not trying to provide a solution to the problem or compensate me for any damages.Business Response

I recently retired from CA and am moving to my home state of **. As of August ********************** plates. For this complaint, I was in **. Will be flying back to CA 9/2 to meet the movers to have my furniture and personal items moved to ** 9/11.I had a slow leak in a tire in ** and went to get it serviced at Discount Tire at 9131 Longpoint. The office person (*******) took my information and the technicians checked out the tires. The front right passenger tire also had a s**** penetration as did the rear passenger tire. The rear passenger tire had also been repaired before in ** and ******* told me they could patch it. So the choice was to patch the tire - with a possible tire failure, replace it with the spare, or get a new tire. I opted to get a new tire.I was walked to the repair site twice to be shown the tires, puncture and patch options. I was told that Discount Tire could replace all four tires or just the one tire and fix the front flat. Then I was asked again if I wanted to replace all four tires. I told them I only wanted to replace the one tire and fix the one tire. I told them I was moving back to ** and would take care of any issues in a month. They told me I shold replace all the tires since I was driving to **. I told them I was not driving back to ***The manager then asked me again about replacing all 4 tires. I told him no, only the one tire and the fixed tire and I would deal with the rest in a month.Sales pressure. I am 65+ years old -I think they were applying senior sales pressure.I left the store, only to find out a tire had been run against the driver's side of my SUV. Black rubber from the rear door, It also damaged my wheel well. Not sure why they did not identify the damage issue. Maybe because I did not opt for the 4-tire replacement, or maybe because my SUV had CA license plates - maybe an accident or on purpose. My fault for not seeing the damage at their property.Business Response

On Saturday August *******, I took my ***** into your store on ******************. I purchase 4 new tires. Upon completion, your worker gave me my keys and said the right rear tire sensor was missing and it would cost ***** to replace. Prior to coming into the store I had used my gauges and all was working correctly. Upon leaving the parking lot, I not my tire warning light was on and my tire pressure sensor didnt work anymore. I returned promptly and spoke with the manager. He said they would replace tne right rear sensor, after a lengthy wait I was then told the sensor had been replaced but now the left side didnt work and they attempted to blame someone else. I am now forced to go to the ***** dealership to resolve this problemBusiness Response

January of 2024 I purchased a set of 4 new tires for a car that I use for car shows. I asked specifically for an appointment with a known good tire installer in an attempt to avoid damage to an expensive set of wheels that the new tires would be mounted on. After the new tires were installed on my wheels, I noticed that there was damage to the powder coated wheels that was not there before the new tires were installed. I made an appointment with the assistant manager at this discount tire location (******************************************************) to have the damage looked at. He was very rude and condescending, but he did admit that the damage likely occurred while the tires were being installed. After a bit of back and forth he offered me $50 towards the cost the wheel re-powder coat. I did not take this as it was only a fraction of the cost to repair the damage. In July of *************** $900 to have this set of wheels re finished!!Business Response

I had my 2 new rear tires installed at Discount Tire (****************************************) on 7/17/24. Noticed some damage around the lug holes and scratches on the surfaces of both wheels after the installation. ********, the assistant manager, said he'd take care of it. I brought my 2023 Challenger back on 8/14/24 for the repair, however, was not happy with the results. The deep scratches were still visible. On May 23, 2024 we took our minivan in to the Tempe Discount Tire location and bought 3 new tires. My teenage son then drove the van to ********** on Friday and was returning on Sunday. As he was driving home on Sunday, May 26, after driving less than 500 miles, the passenger front tire sheared from the bolts and flew off the car causing significant damage to the car. He had the car towed to *********, ** and stayed in a hotel. The next day was Memorial day but I found a mechanic that agreed to fix the vehicle if I purchased and delivered the parts. I had to drive from Payson down to *********, buying the necessary parts on my way. The parts cost over $150 and the mechanic charged $630 since it was a holiday. I contacted Discount Tire after it happened and they seemed very apologetic and ready to help resolve the situation. Once I got them all of the requested documents, I was told they are not liable and they offered me $500 as a goodwill concession. They are absolutely liable as they are the last ones to have touched the bolts on the tire that were loose and ultimately failed causing the accident. We are extremely lucky no one was injured. The van has been totaled by my insurance and because I still had a loan, I now have no car and no money to get a car. I am asking for a settlement of $5000 to cover gas, time lost from work, parts, repairs, and the loss of my vehicle. ******************* with Discount Tire was very friendly and helpful until he had all the information and then he said they determined that Discount was not liable.Business Response

On Saturday August 17 2024 I took my car to this place of business to het a wheel alignment and paid for the alignment in advanced like I was asked too and later that I evening I called wondering why I have not received a call about my car being done and one of the employees tell me the alignment guy had some notes one the vechicle service so I waited for the alignment guy to come to the phone only for them to tell me that he broke a boat on my rear Control arm and he advised I leave it at his shop until Monday morning and they would take it next door to see if the Christian brother would fix it and they would see what kind of discount they could get me after tearing up something that's wasn't broken when I dropped it off to them. So my husband and I proceeded to the place of business then an employee by the name of **** explained to my husband that the car wasn't drivable and once again advised we leave there for them to take it to a business called CHRISTIAN BROTHERS AUTOMOTIVE.. he also explained that since the boat was broken while in their garage they would correct the problem without any worries. So comes around to Monday I waited until Monday evening to call them about my car since I hadn't heard anything no one could tell me anything except they took to CHRISTIAN Brothers finally my husband drove up to the place of business and tell him it cost $600.00 to fix the car then had the nerve to tell my husband he would give $100 off the labor if he allowed CHRISTIAN BROTHERS to work on the vechicle when my husband said No the employee told him he give him $200 offrhe labor if he allowed CHRISTIAN BROTHERS to fix and my husband told him no again so they said they weren't paying for the problem that they createdBusiness Response

On 8/13/2024, I brought in my ***** Accord to the location at *********************************************************. I had a simple request, which was to have a tire patched. I purchased two tires at this same location on 5/7/2022 (invoice *******) and two others on 4/21/2022 (invoice *******) all with the 40k warranty. Since I had only 17k miles all four tires, I figured that this simple request would be honored. However, I was informed by the salesperson (**********) that I needed new tires. Likewise, ********** said I needed new windshield blades even though I had purchased new ones at the same location on 5/7/2022. Since I was charged in the amount of $630.19 for tires that were under warranty and for windshield wipers that were not needed, I am requesting a refund in full.Business Response

All I have received from Discount Tire located at ************************************************************* is empty words from someone named ****. I came in to this location at 8 am on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 with one simple request, which was to get a tire patched. I was informed by the salesperson (**********) that my tires were 3 years old and needed to be replaced. I took his word and purchased new tires (and windshield wipers) at a cost $630.19 (invoice *******). When I got home, I looked at my receipts from my tire purchases at the same location. I discovered that ********** had lied to me. The tires were only two years old. On 4/21/22, I purchased two tires for $267.86 (invoice *******), and on 5/7/22 and I purchased two more tires (and new windshield wipers) for $321.82 (invoice *******). All four tires were purchased with a ****** mile warranty. Likewise, when I looked at the odometer reading on all the purchases, I noticed that all four tires had less than ****** miles on them. Since I did not need the new tires or the new windshield wipers, my demand is a full refund. I have not been offered that. I am not accepting an empty apology from this ***************, since this location engages in deceptive trade practices.Business Response

I have already stated via email to Discount Tire that I am expecting a full refund. Phone calls from Discount Tire apologizing for scamming me out of $600 is not acceptable. I visited on July 26th because I had a low tire notification on my dashboard and needed a rotation and balance. I was paired with *******, who seemed to have no idea what he was doing. From the start, he appeared lost and confused about my tires. He took me inside and said that one of my back tires was in the green and the other was in the upper yellow. He asked if I wanted to ***lace them, and I declined, but he priced them anyway. I declined again. He assured me that we would proceed with the rotation and balance. After leaving, I received a call from someone working on my tire who informed me that my front tires were actually in the red and needed to be ***laced. ******* said back tires. Then he put me on hold and corrected himself, saying it was the back tires. He also gave me a different price for the same tires that ******* had quoted earlier. When I pointed this out, he reduced the price without question. I felt like I was being scammed. When I returned to pick up my car, a new sales ***resentative assisted me. He informed me that my tires were only one year old and should have been ***laced for free, but only one was in the red, not two. I explained that the person on the phone had said both were in the red, but the sales *** insisted otherwise. As a result, I had to pay for one new tire while the other was covered by my certificate.I expressed my frustration about the entire experience, and the sales *** mentioned that ******* was in training but offered no additional resolution for my concerns. None of this made sense to me, so I left and filed a complaint with the corporate office on my way home. A store manager called a few days later and admitted, "We did nothing right here; the invoice is wrong, and the tire shouldn't have been free unless there was a nail in it. This was all incorrect." He said that the incident would be used for training purposes but offered no refund. This experience was terrible from start to finish.Business Response
