Our tire, or tires blew off the wheel right after having DISCOUNT TIRES install them. This caused my vehicle to lose control, and flip over the highway from one side to the other leaving my family upside down, hanging by our seat belts in a ditch off the side of the highway. My Lexus SUV had not had any problems. We drove from California to *********. The officer, and the tow truck driver looked at my vehicle and said that it looked as if another tire was coming off as well. There was grass and dirt sticking out of the tires. I submitted the officers supplement report acknowledging the cause of the vehicle losing control and causing the accident. The tow truck driver agreed. Discount Tires has denied the claim, only offering to pay for what was suppose to be brand new tires, ONLY AFTER I submitted witness statements. Then they wanted a release form signed first!! The tires were improperly installed, defective, or done on purpose. We only asked for 2 tires, however, *****, the salesman said we should purchase 4 tires for tread, balance, etc. I do not have my car, electronic equipment, laptops, items we were traveling with as the trailer with a brand new hitch installed the morning we left on the trip twisted and was dragged in the accident. The brand new hitch was also destroyed. Many citizens thought we did not survive as they came to help. I was trapped upside down in my seatbelt which did not release. Passersby, cut the straps and pulled me out. They pulled our items out of my SUV. We are glad to be alive, glad we didnt cause more damage to the motorists behind us, and thankful our little dogs were alive after we flipped over and slid into the ditch. DISCOUNT TIRES representative, *******************, was denying fault even thought it was the company that was responsible. We could have died, caused injury, death to others due to their negligence. Since we suffered minor cuts, soreness, bruising and my trauma being in car again, he was oblivious to our claim.Business Response

My husband, daughter and myself drove from our home in California to ********* to relocate our daughter in ********* before returning home. My husband thought we should have our tires checked as one tire was losing air.
The employee, *****, at Discount Tires, said that instead of getting the 2 tires that we wanted to buy, we should purchase an entire set, 4 tires for balance, tread, etc. We purchased the 4 tires that he said were new tires with a lifetime guarantee. We left the tire company, got on the highway, and there was a loud boom. The car loss control and flipped over from one side of the highway to a ditch, upside down off the highway.
Discount Tires was contacted by an attorney who in their judgement, liability and fraud was determined in that the tires were poorly installed. Were the tires actually all new?
Discount Tires denied the claim from the attorney with ***************** LLP on my behalf. Discount Tires had been cited with responsibility causing the accident due to a tire(s) blowing off the wheel. The officer on site submitted a supplemental statement confirming this in his opinion, as did the tow truck driver who both arrived on the scene, and observed the damage pointing out the tires to my husband. This was their estimation of the cause of my Lexus SUV losing control after the loud bang, and flipping over from one side of the highway off the highway, resulting in my family hanging from our seatbelts, upside down in the totaled vehicle. Pictures, along with the paperwork enclosed from the case was sent to BBB with my complaint. The tires have grass and dirt sticking out of the tire(s) coming off the wheel.
Discount Tires had installed what was to be 4 new tires on the vehicle, coming off the wheel minutes after leaving the tire company. There were over a dozen people who came to help us out of the vehicle, and several pulled as many of our personal items as possible from the vehicle.
The brand new hitch for the small trailer was twisted, destroyed, also our electronics, items being transported. The bystanders expected us to be dead. Luckily, we were traveling at the proper speed, and distance from the surrounding traffic so that no one else was hurt in traffic.

Due to DISCOUNT TIRES negligence, my family almost died, I lost my vehicle, electronics, computers, phones, laptop, personal items transported, and the cost of a rental car to return to California from *********, *********. This accident was a direct result of DISCOUNT TIRES failure to install/mount the 4 "new" tires purchased on my Lexus SUV. DISCOUNT TIRES would not accept responsibility, even with an officer, and tow truck driver's statements citing the tires caused the loss of control of the vehicle, thereby causing the crash. DISCOUNT TIRES tried to buy me off with an offer to refund money only for the 4 tires they installed, ONLY if I would sign a paper to release them from further charges. They know they are at fault, and this was an attempt to tie my hands from further action. I will continue to pursue my complaint, and alert the public of this gross negligence.Business Response

I want to write my experience with the product and service the discount tire provided to me. I have a ***** Odyssey that purchased 4 new tires Jan/2023. At that time, they told me that I had a Tire warranty-mile guarantee from the tire company and that if anything happened to the tires, they would replace them at no charge. Yesterday 07/02 I visited the store in ********** *******. It turned out that my front tires were in such bad condition that they gave me a warning that I had to change them immediately. Otherwise, I would be at risk if I drove the car on the road. They said that the damage to the front tires was due to a mechanical issue, They did nothing to the van to make any type of conclusion. I asked the representative to drive it or I could drive it with him and he would see that it was not misaligned. They indicated they could not do anything. The warranty did not cover the tire defect. The representative at the store offered to sell me two new times for $350.00 cost for replacing these two tires. What they offered before was nonsense. There is no guarantee at all. The tires lasted only one year and were around. when purchased the van had ****** miles today it has ****** miles. My wife mostly just drove the car to the ******* ****** grocery. It's ridiculous that I could rely on these tires that have a 40,000-mile warranty. It just survived around one year. In the last year in a half, I purchased 4 tires for my 2014 ***** Odyssey. It is a shame that The tire warranty or tire certificate is a scam. The Tire certificate video clearly explains what is covered. My takeaway is this is a defect in the tire. The agent said they do not have an alignment machine and he did not want to drive so how can they make these kinds of diagnoses if they do not have the equipment or test drive? I had new Michelin tires placed of the front of my car, to match the rear tires. the tires that were on the car were still about half tread wear left, so it was an expense that was not based on money, but handling. The wheel on the drivers side front was brand new, had just been replaced due to an accident at the airport, ( not my fault ) by the way. When the tires were put on the car and i started to leave I checked the work, and discovered marks on the wheel, that were not there prior. I asked ****** an employee to look at it and he said they would take care of it, however he need a managers approval due to the cost of the wheel, ( over 250 takes manager approval) so ****** the on site managed comes out and immediately said it was not their fault. He began to argue with me over the fact, and at this point became angry, his voice cracked, hands started shaking, at which point i told him, dont take the personal, which he did, He left and returned with a truck wheel and brake caliper and began banging the truck wheel to show how tough the truck wheel was, which i pointed out to him its not the same wheel, my wheel is a passenger wheel.At his point he started calling me a lier and insinuated I was trying to get something for nothing, and people try and scam them all the time. My car is a luxury car with very low miles and in pristine condition, it's a 2018 model *****************-80. I spent ****** dollars to replace tires that still had half tread life left on them, giving up useful tires. He became angry in front of Camron and I and accused me of trying to scam Discount tires for a new wheel. Told me they would turn it over to claims and they would also disallow the notion, that they did the damage. He proceed to tell me that someone ( ME ) had taken a wire wheel to the car wheel and put those marks on the wheel. He was rude, belligerent, condescending, unprofessional in his demeanor, and escleated this to a very personal level, which was uncalled for. So Im documenting !Business Response

Took one vehicle to Discount Tire to have tires rotated as part of my regular preventive maintenance. Discount Tire employee told me all four tires needed to be replaced. I have only driven about ****** miles on these tires and my tire guage indicates they are all still good tires. Discount Tire employee tried to upsell me for a new set of tires stating I would receive credit for the currrent tires since they did not last ****** miles. I asked to have my tires rotated as I orginally planned but the empoyee refused that service. This is similar to a incident I had three days ago when I took in another vehicle to have a puncture repaired. In that case, the employee refused to repair the tire. Discount tire is unethically trying to sell tires to patrons by claiming thier current tires are defective or need replacing.Business Response

I took my ****** tacoma into get new tires on June 7th, as I left to leave the truck grinded and couldn't be driven. Americas tire forgot to put back on our tire spacers that were on when we arrived. They put the spacers on and I was off. I noticed the truck was driving bumpy so I called to bring it back in. I was able to take it into americas tire in temecula. They immediately said don't drive this truck anymore you have a fractured shock and axle. They said it happened when the americas tire in indio forgot to put the spacers on. It's twisted and fractured the shock on the left side and the axle. I had to get my truck towed to my mechanic and also pay over one thousand dollars to fix what they broke. I called to speak with the manager about what the mechanic did and how they sent me in the road with a broken shock and axle. They gave me the run around and pro.ised me a call from. To whom it may concern,I am writing to file a formal complaint against Discount Tire regarding a misleading warranty promise and premature tire wear.Less than a year ago, I, ******************* *************), purchased a set of tires from Discount Tire and was assured by a sales representative that if the tires did not last until the end of the warranty period, I would be eligible for new tires at a cost of $37 per tire. I believe this cost was for adding a new warranty to the replacement tires. I was very pleased with this offer, as it gave me peace of mind about my purchase. However, when I recently returned to Discount Tire due to significant wear on my tires (after less than ****** miles of use), I was informed that the $37 per tire offer was not applicable and I would need to pay full price for replacements.This is unacceptable and a clear violation of the verbal agreement made at the time of purchase. I purchased some Michelin tires for SUV. It cost me $945. The same price as the cross tek tire from Michelin's website (these tire are 40k to 50k miles warranty). Discount advertising they have the same tires with $110 off discount I purchased the tires they installed it. 2 years later I need new tires. I went to discount tires and the tires they sold me were only 15k miles. I was lied to and taken advantage of since I am a woman. Even the $110 off I had to requested it they didn't not genuinely give it to me. Now I have to spend another *********************************************************** at least 4years I work from home 2021 and 2022.
