On April 16, 2024, at 10:30, I took my Jeep Grand Cherokee to the Discount Tires on ********************, in ********, ** (Store No. AZP 49) for a low tire. As soon as I left my parking lot, I had a low tire indicator. I pulled over and looked and saw a s**** (or some form of metal similar to a screw) sticking out of the tread towards the middle, on my driver's front side. I made an appointment with this store to have it patched. This would be the fourth tire we have had patched by Discount Tires for this type of issue. The first two times, my boyfriend took the vehicle in and they patched three tires for him and never tried to sell him anything. I fully trusted that they would just patch the tire and not try to upsell me. The salesperson (No. 9) looked at my tire, claimed it was in a spot that wasn't patchable, and also informed me that when you replace one tire, you have to replace two because otherwise the vehicle just won't drive right. Again, I trusted them because of how the treated my boyfriend in the past. I was charged $375.80 for two tires. Afterwards, I told my boyfriend what happened and he told me I was completely swindled by the salesperson. They could have patched the tire based off where I saw the screw, and even if they couldn't, its a complete lie that you cannot just replace ONE tire. The balance and alignment have nothing to do with replacing one tire on a vehicle. All the tires we had on the Jeep were well within the tread life and fine. That salesperson completely swindled me due to my naivety about tires and cars.Business Response

The response sent by the business is a generic auto response, not dealing with the issues and only saying they will alert management. I do not accept this as any kind of resolution to the issue at hand.Business Response

I had removed the set of four winter wheels and tires from my car on 6 April and the weather was nice enough on 15 April to clean them prior to storing them for the season, which I did. I noted no damage to any of the four wheels but did note that two wheels had lost some wheel weights. So the morning of 16 April I removed the remaining wheels weights from the two wheels and thoroughly cleaned all adhesive and other residue from the inside of the wheels. Just before 1 PM on 16 April 2024 I dropped the two alloy wheels, with tires mounted, to Discount Tire to get them balanced. I was told that the wheels would be ready for pickup after 2:30 PM. I stopped by just after 2:30 and immediately noted that one of the wheels had scuffing on seven of the ten spokes and brought it to the attention of the person helping me. He went and brought someone else over and that person deflected all responsibility. He went and brought two other persons over who came up with excuses, such as "this damage looks old" to which another replied "that's what I thought." After hearing that I let them know what I thought about their response and left. When I purchased my car in the fall of 2018 I immediately saw that the spokes of the wheels protrude past the face of the tire. Knowing that, I have always been careful to never put any wheel face down--always face up. I wash the back side of these wheels with one wheel propped up partially atop another wheel, rubber-to-rubber, with the lower wheel face up. My wheels never had damage before today (16 April 2024). For someone who is not careful when wrangling wheels/tires around it is easy to accidentally drop a wheel face down, even though people working at a tire store should know better. I am willing to live with the slight scuffing on one spoke on the one wheel but the wheel that has light-to-moderate scuffing/damage to seven spokes is not acceptable. And Discount Tire refuses to take responsibility for their actions. It is not right.Business Response

On 4/3/2024, my husband and I arrived to the ************* location to redeem the warranty on worn tires and to get a tire rotation. We were prepared to be ripped off for a 3rd time since 12/2022, we immediately recognized the inexperienced associate approach us, ready to make this visit as costly as possible, but because we are now receptive to America's Tire's unethical and aggressive tactics to get customers to unnecessarily replace tires, even when they are performing regular tire rotations and maintenance. The associate said that our 2 front tires needed to be replaced, despite just being at the same location less then 4 months prior and being told the tires couldn't be traded in under warranty because they weren't worn enough? Even with heavy driving, had the tires supposedly not been eligible for a warranty trade in in 12/13/2023 (which they were obviously eligible now that we are looking back and are now wise to these unethical practices), it is highly unlikely that the tires would be out of warranty less than 4 months later. The reality is that the tires should've been changed out in 12/13/2023, during that rotation when we were taken for the cost of another 2 tires after replacing 4 tires just the year before! If there is an underlying problem, like alignment, that is causing the tires to become excessively worn out, ******* Tire has a due diligence to be transparent and not just keep profiting off of an ignorant customer in the form of tire replacement and avoidance of honoring manufacturer warranty! I have since filed a dispute with my on the 12/13/2023 transaction due to ******* Tire failing to honor the warranty for the tires purchased from the ********* location on 3 separate occurences, as of today. I had to get tires replaced elsewhere after catching the ********* location miscalculated my milage by 7k and after catching the associate in 2 other lies besides the milage discrepancy. Store manager was not helpful and evasive. Complaint was placed.Business Response

On April 8th, 2024, I went for tire rotation on my Tesla at "America's Tire" (also known as Discount Tires) located at *************************************************. Prior to the service, I was assured that they had experience with ****** and EVs, and that they used **** pucks when lifting a car to prevent damage to the battery or rocker trim. Even though they confirmed their experience with ****** and showed me the **** pucks, upon returning the vehicle, I noticed a crack on my rocker trim near the **** point they used to lift the car. I immediately pointed out the damage, and they acknowledged it and started a claim with the insurance. Now, I have received a call from the insurance company and Discount Tires disputing the claim, even though they acknowledged the damage at the time. This dispute feels unjust, as both the service staff and the manager clearly saw the damage after the service and acknowledged it.I've attached photos before and after the service so you can clearly see the damage.Business Response

These are merely vague promises that Discount Tires won't uphold. Initially, they acknowledged the damage to my car and initiated a claim. However, they later reversed course, denying responsibility and asserting it was not their fault, despite the evidence provided through photos taken before and after the service. Promises of investigation from Discount Tires hold no weight in reality, so I'll await resolution of this matter before accepting any response.Business Response

On 3/21/2024 I came into Discount Tire Center and purchased a set of 4 tires and advised the clerk that I would be taking home 2 out four tires. After completing the service I was given my bill and noticed that I had been charged for a ************** fee and waste disposal fee for 4 tires. I advised the clerk(*****) that why I had been charged for 4 tires disposal fees if I was taking 2 of my old tires. He told me it was mandatory procedure and that he could give me a discount on a future visit instead. I asked to speak to his supervisor and ***** advised me that would be receiving a phone call since he was not there. On 3/22/24 I filed a complaint on their website and no one has still called me back. I was over charged a total $14.48. ************** fee 1.75 per tire and waste disposal fee 5.49 per tire.Business Response

April 5, 2024, I went into the store for a tire replacement. I was advised I needed 4 new tires and quoted $1700. However, when my friend (male) came into the store, I could get tires sent from California for about $700. I paid $25 layaway down payment and told I would need to wait 7 days minimum. However, I was able to get a one day wait down the street, so I called to cancel the layaway and request a refund. I was advised the $25 was needed to return the tires, and my request for a refund was denied. The salesperson made no attempt to stop the tires from being mailed. I am aware 4 tires were probably not in the mail in the 10 minutes it took me to cancel. I want to request the $25 refund and a removal of my contact information from their system altogether.Business Response

I took my truck 2021 **** F250 in on 3/27/2024 to get a new set of tires. I got it back to realize the wheels in there were old, dirty, scratched and beat up. I had just washed my truck so I now my rims didn't look like that. I also take really good care of my cars. The rims they put on are not mine. I filed a claim and got a denial letter. I want a replacement that's all I'm asking for. I've been a loyal customer for more than 10 years.Business Response

On February 26th, I went to this business for a tire change because of two nails in both left tires. Upon leaving, I didnt check at the shop, I trusted this shop and just took my car, I noticed damage to my rim and lugnut holes. I called the shop and came in for them to see it, the employee apologized for the damages and said their manager would contact me. The manager did not contact me and I contacted their regional office. The regional office contacted the shop and two days later, the manager finally called me and said theres no way they couldve damaged my rim but theyll take responsibility for the damage around the lugnut holes as it unfortunately happens when theyre in a rush. They file a claim and through this process, they get back to me a month later stating that they cannot attribute the damage to the shop and its more consistent with road rash. There is no way possible I couldve curb or roadrashed my whole rim and also the my lugnut holes yet no damage to my car. The manager himself said they would take responsibility for the lugnut holes but would need to do an investigation because he doesnt believe he couldve done that to the rim. The insurance agency is now saying the lugnut hole damage isnt them although they in person and on the phone, told me they would take the blame for that damage.Business Response

27SEP2023: Tire purchase Tru Automotive. Puncture at 2400 miles and informed factory warranty does not cover repairable damage. Despite being told anything happens, we take care of it, its my fault for not reading the warranty statement before purchase and, regardless, Tru could not do the repair and directed me to Discount Tire.Feb 12: ****** at Discount said the same - if tire is repairable then no warranty. I made it clear I wanted a new tire since these were so new and Ive not even taken it offroad yet. Turns out they will sell you offroad tires for an offroad truck at an offroad shop but if you take the car offroad you void all warranties. That was another surprise and is beside the point but speaks to the fact that things are being sold under false pretenses. My visit culminated with purchasing some extra $200 coverage where basically we [Discount Tire] buy the tires from you and if anything happens, we will replace the tire. I made absolutely certain he said replace and not repair and that will cover me even if I go offroad - he assured me this was true and issued me a new warranty replacement. Fast forward ********************** the same tire, so on March 18th I returned to Discount for another new one. I was again told if the tire can be repaired, they will not issue a warranty and we do not just slap new tires on every time you get a flat. I informed him this is not what was sold to me a few weeks ago and that I wanted a new tire because the set was so new - if they had ******+ miles I would have been fine with a plug. I was 100% rejected, told no ****** even worked at that location, they would not refund the $200 I paid in extra coverage, and was forced to repair the tire. I should demand new tires but will begrudgingly accept a refund for the coverage I thought I paid for.PS: I find it convenient tire shops will absolutely not touch a 4WD without replacing ALL four tires, yet when asked for a warranty its suddenly OK to replace just one.Business Response

On March 28th I was contacted via phone by Discount Tire's manager network and will be refunded the $200, given a new replacement tire, and will have the plugged tire mounted/used as the spare. This is exactly what I asked to have happen in the first place and is an acceptable resolution to this situation.

I called store #***, ordered tires and made appointment to have 6 tires replaced on my 2020 Chevrolet Silverado High Country Dually. I arrived at appointment time and had to wait almost hour to be serviced. They replaced my tires after while inappropriately jacking up my truck with floor jacks under the rear shock mounts. I specifically asked and documented them in the office NOT to do. That is improper lifting and maintenance on this size vehicle. I have pictures to prove. They damaged my Right front tire TPMS sensor and had to order. They forgot to place the order the following morning. I had to follow up and contact them. But I was awaiting their call to come back in to replace the damaged sensor. Never got ordered. They re-ordered and then never called me again. I had to go to them almost a month later. They scratched and gouged two wheels while rebalancing my wheels/tires for the second time due to improper wheel weights used. The wheels are highly polished billet aluminum wheels. I They tossed the wheels carelessly into the mounting and balancing machines and dropped tooling into them. I watched as they did and asked them to please be careful and NOT damaged the wheels. And they did just that. I saw the damage and pointed it out to the store Senior tech before my vehicle left the service bay or was even driven. They apologized took full responsibility and said it would be handled the following morning due to the store manager being gone for a haircut. The store manager nor the senior tech ever reached out to me I had to follow up again in person in the store. The store manager and senior both apologized and accepted responsibility for the damages and turned it over to corporate. still months later not resolved, the store is blaming the corporate insurance company and the insurance company is blaming store. Insurance company offered me $150 inconvenience fee, I declined and said please take care of the two damaged wheels. I want no more or no less.Business Response
