I purchased lug nuts from this store and they did not provide the "key" to be able to remove them. I contacted them and they had me come get one and the one they gave me doesn't fit the lug nuts they sold me. This has caused me to have to reschedule other work on my truck twice now. The "key" is part of the lug nut set I bought and nit only did they not give it to me but they apparently lost the one that came with my set. This is just the latest on a poorly run company.Business Response

12/12/2023 - I paid $113.00 at the Aurora store to mount and balance 4 tires. The center cap was not placed on securely, which came off and got lost. 12/19/2023 - I paid $68 dollars for balancing and rotating 4 tires on my 2nd truck. I left and realized I was missing a security lug nut. I drove my other truck in, and this was when I noticed my missing center cap. I showed the manager a picture of the missing lug nut and pointed out that I was missing my center cap. He apologized and said he would Replace my security lug nuts, all brand new, and give me a box of them to take home to replace the missing one so I could drive it back in and have them replace all. I offered to pay for the lug nuts, and he insisted it was free. Received a quote on tires for my 2010 ********* The manager gave me the wrong lug nuts and ordered a 315 75R 16 Westlake tire ******** on the quote profile of my 2010 ********* 12/22/2023 - My tire had not arrived when I was told it would be Friday, December 22nd. I go into the store to have my tires rebalanced on my **** due to a horrible vibration at highway speed. The assistant manager also advised that he could not contact the warehouse shipping my tire as they were closed. I realized my truck was ready for pickup after they had only rebalanced the driver-side tires. I could not address this then and decided it was in my best interest and safety not to do any further business with Discount Tire. 1/02/2024 Attempted to pick up my tire and get the correct lug nuts. The assistant manager advised that my tire was returned to the warehouse because they had ordered the wrong tire. He apologized and gave me pass-through lug nuts. I advised that my lug nuts were sealed to protect my threads, which was a replacement. He advised that was all he had and promptly moved on to the next person in line. 1/10/2024 - The replacement tire has never shown up. Received refund for tire, but want a refund for the services I paid for that need to be corrected.Business Response

Im extremely disappointed in my local Discount Tire! Yesterday my daughter had a flat tire on her truck luckily she was right across the street from the discount tire in ******. When she drove up to see if they could fix it they told her they couldnt because it had been plugged before then she asked them if they could put the spare on and again they refused saying that the spare was over 10 years old and wouldnt be safe mind you it has never been used and had air in it. So Discount Tires bright idea instead was to put air in the leaking tire on the truck and told her to take it to a mom & pop shop and maybe get it fixed there because discount tire policy wouldnt allow them to fix it. Well she made it about three miles down the road and the tire went flat again now she was stuck on the side of the highway. I dont understand how the h*** they thought it was safer to just put air in a leaking tire and send my young daughter down the road. Oh but they did offer to sell her a new tire that she just couldnt afford at the time. She just needed to get home about *********************************************************************************** more danger by sending her off with a leaking tire. I understand that they are in the business of selling tires but that is ridiculous. We would have came back to purchase two tires this weekend for the truck but after this fiasco we will never use discount tire again!Business Response

Went to Discount Tire on Monday, January 8,2024 to have a tire put on. They called to inform us that the vehicle was done and ready for pickup, BUT they couldnt get one of the lug nuts back in. So we took it to *** to get an estimate on repair. The hole where the lug nut/bolt goes is completely stripped and threading is gone past repair. This is leading for me to have to replace the entire wheel hub, which is a ***** repair. While the technician was putting the tire on, he stripped the bolt. Discount Tire has submitted a claim to their claims department, and I am hoping that they will pay for the hub replacement from the *** dealership (discount tire doesnt preform these so had to go to the dealer).Business Response

Bought tires in May of 2022 at an American tires in California. These Yokohama tires were rated for 85k. These tires were rotated by ** 3 times. I brought the car in for rotation at a discount tire in ***** ***** with only 17k miles on it. They told me they need to be replaced. This is clearly a defect in the tires as the vehicle has no suspension issues and the tires have been rotated. Best the shop could do is sell me 4 new ones for nearly $500 dollars. In addition they told me the tires are soft and cant handle the ***** heat. However I told them the vehicle has only drive 17k on these tires and is garages in an insulated garage so heat should have not impacted them. Seems like this is just a bait tactic to sell more tires. Really disappointed. I request discount to buy back these tires and provide new ones or refund what I paid back in 2022, as the life on these tires to wear so fast is just not reasonable.Business Response

I went in to get a nail removed from my tire. I was told by 1 of the employees on 2 different occasions that they can not service my tire becauseis too wide. I went home, spoke to customer service on their website, they stated that they CAN service my tire. So I call the ************** location and he states that my tire can not be serviced. But also stated that there is a note from corporate stating that they refuse to service ME, period. He could not tell me when this was added OR what it said. He refused to give me a phone number to the corporate office so I can find out what it going on. I have taken my previous car to them for many years and have had no issues up until I need a nail removed on my current car. I feel ANY tire shop CAN service ANY tire size.Business Response

I purchased three new tires and they were installed. After the installation my car began to wabble. I returned to advise of this issue. The first guy who was the assistant manager said the front right tire was a faulty installation. Then the manager goes to check and said he could not find anything and it must be my brakes. I previously had my brakes repaired prior to getting the tires. Also, note that when I had old tires that were almost bald this was not the behavior of driving the car. So if it was the brakes, why did it take new tires for the brakes to wear out? I have contacted Discount tire many time to advise of what was happening as well as what the assistant manager discovered but nothing has been done thus far. With the delay of them taking action to correct and resolve the faulty installation of my new tires, this may be causing another issue.I am requesting the installation of the tires to be corrected and if there are any residual effects then this should also be corrected. This has stopped me from driving Uber because I dare not transport anyone is this shaky ride.Business Response

On December 15, I initiated contact with my local Discount Tire store, expressing my intent to make a tire purchase decision between ***'s Club and Discount Tire. Assured of a price match, I visited the store, displaying the ***'s Club price through my account. Following adjustments, the representative confirmed a slightly lower price. When I mentioned ***'s Club's warranty and requested the certificates, I was told my car would be ready within an hour.Upon returning a couple of hours later and reviewing the receipt, I was dismayed to find that the tire receipt lacked the certificates, which I had explicitly requested and believed would be included. Had this been communicated differently, I would have opted for *** Boys, as they agreed to match the tires and incorporate their roadside hazard warranty.When I inquired, the representative became defensive and insisted on an additional $170 for the certificates. I emphasized the lack of clear communication on this matter, expressing how it would have significantly impacted my decision-making process, compelling me to choose an alternative.While I've been a loyal Discount Tire customer for over 20 years, I've observed a decline in customer service and communication in recent years. My preferred resolution would be for a manager to either issue a complete refund, accept the return of the tires, allowing me to have them installed at a trustworthy tire shop, or honor our initial agreement by adding the road hazard warranty to this order. On December 29, 2023, I had four new Michelins balanced/mounted on my 2021 GMC Yukon. They ruined three of my rims in the process, as the rims are uniformly heavily scratched around the edges as if it was caused by a machine. These rims were pristine and the tires were never unmounted as they were original. This was the *********************** location in *********, **. I cant believe they returned my car to me like this without saying anything. The rims are literally toast; the top of all of the spokes are heavily scratched and so is the lip all around. It isnt buffing out either. It is uniform; logically could not have been done by human hands.Business Response

Unfortunately, a claim for the damage is in process through a third-party company through Discount Tire, which is ongoing. I cannot consider the situation resolved at this point with the claim apparently still under review. The claims folks are hard to communicate with and have asked me for essentially the same information three (3) times. They said 10 business days for the outcome of a claim to be communicated to me; we are getting close to that deadline.
