Went into Discount Tire end of June 2023 for a rim swap, **** S Kipling, ******** **. After waiting for a few hours they swapped out the rims. When I left went home, noticed a big ding, to the metal on the driver rear quarter panel. I went to the store the next day and told them this was absolutely not there when I came in. I have owned my truck for 20 years and know every little ding or chip that is on the vehicle. If in fact this was on the vehicle prior I would not make an issue nor put in a claim, but it was not, so that is why I put in a claim to Discount. Either they hit the side of vehicle with rim while taking out of vehicle, a high **** or other tool. Claims **** says that they are to take rims, tires from the back of vehicle, sure, they are suppose to but maybe they did not. I noticed a lot of carelessness while waiting, so it is no surprise this damage happened. I watched them take off a spare tire from a Jeep. Part of the spare tire holder fell off the Jeep hit the bumper hard then bounced on the floor under the vehicle. After reading other complaints, do not tell me this could not happen. Submitted estimate to claims ***** and they instantly declined the claim and said case closed. Initially had to call and leave several messages and then was sent an email with a response that someone had called and left me 3 messages, they did not. The whole ordeal has been a circus from the time claim was submitted. Have been a long time customer and have spent thousands with **********************. Again, I would not go to these length's if I did not feel that this was done by Discount. Discount did not try to even pay for any damages or side with the customer, just an instant decline. Carelessness does happen I have read this, so please do not tell me there is no way this could have happen at Discount.Business Response

I brought my brand new 2023 4runner in on July 3rd for a spare. change/replacement. During the service one tech accidentally nicked the paint on my bumper with the spare tool. I contacted Discount about this, they told me to go to a local auto body shop down the street to put touch up paint on it. I explained it was literally a brand new vehicle and I didnt want a sloppy job to repair it. I wanted it to be done correctly and to be in the condition it was in prior to bringing my vehicle in. I contacted Discount **************** and they then refused to take responsibility for it or repair it. I have pictures of my vehicle prior to the service to prove they caused the damage. It is really a shame that they are so dishonest and unprofessional and that they wont take responsibility for it and make it right.Business Response

We went to the discount tire on ***************** in ******, ** July 22. We informed ************ that our tire blew out and we needed a replacement. ************ told us it would be a few hours wait, we said we were fine waiting. ************ had us pay before handing him our keys. We received a message informing us our car was ready approximately 3 hours later. When arriving the tire had not been replaced. Up until this point we we had not been informed of this. The associate explained one of the lug nuts was frozen and couldn't be removed. I asked if we would be refunded for the tire not being put on the car. He told us the service was completed. Displeased with this response, I spoke with a customer service representative after this experience and he informed me he would get in contact with the store manager. I did not receive a call. I am asking for a refund for the installation of the tire that did not happen. What we paid for and got was a tire that was left in the trunk, and told we would have to get someone else to install it.Business Response

It came to my attention discount tires has been changing my tires and giving me bald ones and because I dont look and trusted them I never knew. I bought four new tires April 2022 and it came to my attention the front tires are bald. Ive came in several times for service and my tires have been changed and balanced (moved around) so anyways after all the back and fourth they said my front tires have never been changed but yet they been balanced moved around from back to front and **** versa so the original ones have been replaced and been switched to bald ones and now that I noticed they are saying my warranty wont cover it that only for repair or of a nail was in it. Anyhow all in all theres to many lies, scam and and tires being swapped/ rotated and Im not the only one. All in all he still wanted me to pay for one new and give me one but the whole point is I should have all four new since they keep giving s***** tires when I have an issue and ************** them. They back each other up and swear nothing was said or done they dont note their notes well and only what they want.Business Response

I purchased 4 new tires at ****** miles on my car that were supposed to last ****** miles. ** ****** car miles I found out I needed new tires. They were worn so low they wouldn't even rotate them. These tires lasted only ****** miles. I didn't rotate them often, yet wasn't informed of uneven wear - they were basically all threadbare. And even so, I should have gotten at least ****** more miles. A clerk informed that in the past these tires had many complaints and they have since been improved upon because of this. The tires were basically somewhat defective. Yet I was charged for a new tires when in reality the old ones should gave lasted another ****** - ****** miles - another 4-6 years at the rate I drive. The manager suggested I contact the tire manufacture and request a refund. But I feel Discount Tires should be responsible - and they can get refunded from the manufacturer. I've been with Discount thru over 40 years, 4 different states, and have been satisfied. But this time they are wrong, and they need to step up to the plate and take care of business honestly. They know this should not have happened, yet they threw the cost upon me when it's not my fault. I would like a full refund for the tires. I have contacted Consumers Affairs as well and will follow thru with a complaint there. I feel I've been taken advantage of unfairly and they have not stood up to their warranty.Business Response

I had purchased wheels through America's Tire in ********* off of N. Sunrise The price was right and the service was alright except when the wheels were installed, they did not let me know how close the fitment would be to my suspension as well as not moving my abs sensors out of the way of the Tire.So my vehicle was given back to me with more issues including needing to buy wheel spacers and new sensors.After returning to the store same day the staff had nothing to compensate to me for the damage and extra needs my vehicle needed to be more operable I would also like to add that the store manager seemed to have taken this issue very lightly as if they did not care to try and help as well as the technician who came and saw the damaged sensors and nearly rubbing suspension all the managers and one technician who were standing talking to me about the issue kinda laughed about it instead of helping.Business Response

I had taken my car to this tire shop to replace 4 tires and they damaged my rims during the installation. I have been an automotive technician for over 10 years and I have had damaged rims at one point. I know what a damaged rim looks like from user error and if the clamp on top of the tire is worn out or secured too tight, it will damage the rim. As you can see, the rim can still be damaged even though you have new equipment. The manager *** is not an honest man and neither are his employees if they are denying this. They stated they use all proper precautions to not damage anything. Dont even think of taking your car here, you need to take it somewhere you can trust, not a dishonest place like this. They wont treat your car with respect and will be careless during the service they do. Their insurance company is horrible too and I had the issue with **** from ******** handling my case. He was indicating what I wanted from this because my rims already had curb rash. He was trying to minimize my concern of indicating my rims were damaged by the tire shop. I provided him pictures of the damage and you can even see the fine circular scratch around the rim. He spoke to the shop and of course they were going to deny damages to the rims. They dont wanna be held accountable for damages they did. I am now stuck paying for 500$ to repair the rims they damaged. They only offered 200$ and I am seeking the remaining 300$ for the repairs.Business Response

Visited Discount Tire Sat 7/8/23 to have 4 tires mounted and balanced $88. Pointed out to technician that one of the tires had 4 large weights and asked if this was an issue. Technician told me to come back monday if any issues. I was there saturday and waited 4 hours for this service. The drive home at highway speeds revealed steering wheel and car with a strong vibration. Sunday morning 7/9/23 took the car to ******* and had balance checked. ******* tech indicated that all of the tires were out of balance and re-balanced them $56. Copy of email sent June 27th to Discount Tires Hello,I have been a faithful Discount Tires' customer for over 30 years. I had only good things to say about your company until today.Yesterday, I went to have a tire with a nail inside be fixed. I was told to come back in a couple of hours. I received a text telling me the tire had been fixed and the car was ready to be picked up. When I picked it up, the tire had not been fixed. The employee told me that the store ordered a new tire that would be in today, Tuesday. I set up an appointment. The tire was replaced, then the bill was presented to me. I was never told prior to that time, there would be a charge.I am reporting these facts to BBB, to hopefully make people aware how your store is dealing with customers.I wanted you to be aware of my coming action ********************** I never received a response to my email.
