Discount Tire in ********** badly botched the tire installation AND service experience I had with them several months ago. They damaged one of my Mercedez-Benz wheels/rims and also cost me money by sending me an electronic communication stating my vehicle was ready, when it actually was not. As a result of the incorrect communication, I paid for an Uber across town to pick up my car, only to be called when I was nearly there and told my vehicle was not ready. Discount Tire had someone by the name of ********************* call me several months ago to supposedly help resolve and compensate me, but he left no contact information to reach him and no one at the store is willing to provide it. They seem to think that they can just ignore me and leave this issue unresolved, but they are sorely mistaken.Business Response

Dear sir or madam:On 1/13/2022 I went in to the Humble Discount Tire located at *********************************************************** for my free tire rotation for the tires that I bought on 4/4/2022 for $505.85 (invoice # *******). I advised the associate that I noticed that the right front tire seemed to have problems with the valve as it would continue leaking air even after I had filled it. I also mentioned that the tire sensor light had gone off in my care.After waiting about 1.5 hours, I was told that the rear left tire had a nail in the sidewall and would need a new tire replacement. I was told by the associate that it would cost $24 to replace the tire under the tire hazard warranty. However, upon checking, he said that when I purchased the 4 Defender tires on 4/4/2022 that You had removed the tire hazard warranty. I said this could not be the case because I had requested a price match to ****** for the same brand of tire and that it did have a tire hazard warranty. He said ****** does not have this and that he would do me a favor and allow me to purchase a tire hazard for 5 tires for $123.00. I paid the amount and then when I got home, I checked ******s tire center website and found, that in line with what I remembered, they DO have a tire hazard warranty that comes with all tires purchased:******************************************* I also remember when doing the price match with the associate on 4/4/2022, he had me pull up the website, call the ****** tire center to confirm with the ****** employee they indeed had stock. I distinctly remember asking the discount tire associate that the price match INCLUDE the tire hazard warranty as I have always had it with all tires purchased through discount tire. This complaint is in regards to the company Discount Tire.We had brought our vehicle in mid-December to have a tire replaced. The tire was replaced with one too small and was noticed during the drive home. Upon inspection of the vehicle we noticed the issue of an incorrect tire placed. We brought it in and they replaced it with the correct size. HOWEVER the damage had already been done. The manager at our local Discount Tire stated to bring the vehicle in for a quote of repairs and submit them to the company and it would be covered. As it turned out the differences in tire rotation and weight distribution of the incorrect tire did damage to the transmission of our vehicle. We submitted the first quote and Discount Tire's insurance team did not accept it, stating that we would have to total the car out. When we contacted again to get more information and also to state how the time and money due to this mistake on their part was an issue the company responded by gaslighting us and saying it was our fault as we did not put 4 new tires on the car. This was never mentioned when the original tire was purchased AND does not excuse the mistake of the company in putting the wrong size tire on our vehicle. We came to Discount Tire under the impression that we were getting a tire replaced, not that we would end up with our vehicle tore up and the stress of having to figure out how to fix it if they will not. This is an issue of incompetence on the employee leading to a mistake that damaged our transmission. This is not a mistake of the customer who came in simply asking for them to provide the service that they claimed they would.Business Response

A couple of years ago I bought a full size tire and wheel for a spare tire today I got a flat and paid $70 for a tire change which they couldn't do because Discount tire sold me the wrong wheel I would like a refund for the tire and wheel and reimburse for the $70 tire changeBusiness Response

They placed 245 70 16 on my truck after i asked for 265 70 r16 due to aftermarket rims . And then the teck went over my fast miles due to scrapping n recycling that i put on a lot of miles and tried to accuse me of running drugs when i do not . I told them same size as the front n no extras well they tacked on extras n the tires was supposed to be covered on the extra buy warranty but they didn't honor there own warranty they claimed to have sold me.Business Response

I bought tires from Discount Tires with a ****** mile warranty. I'm at ****** miles and my tires are 80% "gone" and need to be replaced. Hello On 11/9/2022 I went to the Discount tire location at **********************************************************************. The reason I went was for a flat tire. I dropped off the car at 8 am and I picked it up at around 1 when I was on my lunch break from work. When I drove it back to my job which is a 2 minute drive from the discount tire location I immediately notice there was an issue with the shifter so I drove back to discount tire right away to speak to a manager. He was not available so I returned 20 minutes later and I filed a claim.I explained to the manager what they broke and showed him what was wrong.My vehicle is a manual vehicle and it has a something called a lock out collar that you need to lift in order to shift the vehicle into reverse. Reverses in my vehicle is in the same place as first gear you just need to lift the lockout collar in the shifter to put it into reverse.When I received the vehicle back the car would go into reverse without lifting the lockout collar which was not happening previously.When I received the quote back from the mechanic showing what the issue was many components needed to be change because somehow they forced the shifter into reverse without lifting the lockout collar.I sent over the estimate over to the adjuster from ************** and he is basically saying the discount tire location submitted the claim as disputed and just because they said they didnt do it they are not responsible for the damages.I do not want to throw any one at this discount tire location under the bus because they have always done a good job taking care of mine and my families tire needs. However the fact is I took my car to this location to fix a flat and when I received my car back the shifter was damaged.I then emailed customer relations and forwarded basically this whole message I wrote to their regional executive staff so they can look it over with the store manager and that the store manager would contact me . I called 2 weeks later and the store manager said the regional staff hasnt reached out so there is nothing he could do at the moment.Business Response

THE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD WHILE ATTEMPTING TO REPAIR A FLAT TIRE. Not only do they behave in an uncaring manner, but I believe they destroyed my tire in an attempt to try to sell me one of theirs... I made a telephone appointment as they suggest in order to save time I arrived at 11:10 for my 11:15 appointment. I approached the third man when he entered the room. He looked surprised when I asked him about my tire, saw that I was becoming impatient and went out to look at my car. He asked one of the mechanics about the employee who was supposed to work on my car and was told that that person did not want to work on my car, which sounded odd to me (why would someone not want to do a job, unless he was being told to do something against his principles). He then closed the door behind him and went to look at the job. He returned promptly and said to me that my tire was not repairable because the hole was too large. I asked to see the tire, he brought it for me to see. Indeed it had a huge hole in it and appeared as though someone had used a flathead screwdriver and spun it to enlarge the hole, fortunately he brought the s**** that had punctured the tire which was half the size of the hole on the tire. I drove my car to Discount Tire with the s**** in the tire and air pressure had diminished by only 5 pounds overnight. So the s**** was in very tight and the hole was allowing for a very slow leak. They made the hole larger to try to make a profit by selling me a tire. After voicing my concerns to a very uncaring manager, I asked him to complete the job and let me leave their facility ASAP, So I paid them $65.40 for a used tire and the time stamp on their receipt showed 1:08 pm. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THAT FACILITY AND WILL TELL MY STORY TO EVERYONE I KNOW. Hopefully others will avoid getting fleeced at this place. It was the Discount Tire store. I bought 4 sets of tires and went in for installation and they tell me someone sold 2 of my tires. They didn't even bothering ordering the replacement yet and now the replacement tires won't even arrive for a week or more. They will "call me". I'm very disappointed since I've already been charged over $1100 for those tires and have to come back to the store. This complaint is against Discount Tire at **************************************************************************. Better Business Bureau doesnt have it listed so I chose the Discount Tire in Lafayette to file the complaint against the ********** Discount Tire Store. I went to Discount Tire in ********** on Highway 287 to get my air pressure checked in my tires on 1/4/2023. I have done business there for about 10 years and my family has bought four sets of new tires from them. The last four years the air pressure tire check service has been poor. A man in front of me kept waiting to get his tires checked and the workers for Discount Tire kept ignoring him. I went inside to let them know and was given the excuse that they were busy and understaffed. The did not look understaffed to me. I left in disgust and told me if they do not give better service I will go elsewhere. The man waiting to get his tires checked left, too. We should have not to go inside to let the staff know we want our tires checked. It is a free service and take less than five minutes. Discount Tire encourages to keep proper air pressure in tires and they do not support this agenda well in recent years. I have done it many times but the last four years it has been painful get it done. If Discount Tire cannot perform this simple free air pressure checked better I will take my business elsewhere. When ***** was the manager the store operated much better. I have told people about the good service I have had over the years at the ********** store but I am beginning to change my mind.Business Response
