in recent history, in the past 3 yrs i have ordered tires online @ *******/discount tire, on EVERY occasion i was contacted and told the tires i ordered and paid for were not available, on all 3 incidents i was offered to purchase a different tire at double the price of what i paid for and ordered, how do they continue to get away with obvious lies and deception, if they only want to sell specific tires, then they should only advertise those products, to lie and false advertise tires they do not have or will not have is against the law and needs to STOP, this is really getting old, do something about FALSE ADVERTISMENT, only advertise what's in stock or readily available, not just what they make more money off of THX, ****Business Response

I have been a loyal Discount Tire (DT) customer for years, but I am disappointed with their recent handling of my situation. After my vehicle was towed home, I submitted an insurance claim and contacted DT. They insisted I pay for repairs out of pocket, claiming that neither they nor my insurance would take responsibility. A mechanic later determined that the issue arose from over-tightened wheel bolts during tire installation.Despite this, DT stated that too many miles had passed since the tire replacement for them to act and advised me to work with my insurance. "As we all pay for insurance, not for them to take this self serving position." Ultimately, they offered to reimburse my $500 deductible, which does not cover the repair costs. I was informed that management denied liability because of the miles driven since installation, despite the fact that more miles lead to increased stress on tires and bolts. They suggested I continue to discuss this with my insurance representative, claiming that insurance is meant to cover damages rather than taking any responsibility for their mistakes. DT emphasized that the deductible was a goodwill gesture and urged me to approve it quickly. I am highly disappointed by the way DT has handled this situation. After years of loyalty and trust in their services, I now face a hefty repair bill resulting from the over-tightened bolts installed by their team. They would prefer to shift responsibility to my insurance rather than address the consequences of their actions. I am grateful that my son and his aunt noticed a problem and pulled over before serious accidents occurred. Thankfully, nothing major happened, but DT might have preferred to ignore the issue until significant collateral damage occurred. At least, that is what they feel. I hope the business pays closer attention to these details in the future; this incident could have been much worse had the driver and passenger not noticed the unusual way the vehicle behaved.Business Response

While I want to acknowledge that I currently have an open claim with your company, I feel compelled to express my dissatisfaction through the Better Business Bureau. I've previously communicated my concerns, and I am increasingly frustrated with the response I have received thus far.
It seems as though the approach being taken is dismissive, with the sentiment that since no physical harm came to individuals, theres no significant reason to delve deeper into the matter. This perspective feels like a disregard for the stress and inconvenience the situation has caused me. The compensation being offered, which merely covers my deductible, seems grossly inadequate. It barely accounts for the expenses incurred for the towing and storage of my vehicle at the mechanic who will be working on the repairs.
In my conversations with the representative, I couldn't shake the feeling that my concerns were not being taken seriously. It appeared as though I was being held responsible for what was clearly an error on the part of Discount Tires. As a long-standing customer who has always appreciated your services, I am deeply disappointed by the level of service and support Ive encountered during this situation.
Given my experience, I am now left to reconsider my future patronage to your company. I feel compelled to share my experiences with my family and friends, as their opinions matter to me. I first went in and asked to purchase new tires for a car I just purchased a 2017 ****** maxima midnight edition on 08/13/2024 the total was ****** but while I was at **** discount called and said I needed 6 new lug nuts but I should buy the set that was ****** I got no paper receipt for that but it is on my bank statement . So *******. btw 10 lug nuts come in a set I never received the extra 4 nor did they put the two rear tires that were brand new in my trunk cause they were not the recommended size for the car so I figured I would keep them as a spare and I should have . I brought the car home and woke up with the back two tires flat . I had to work I put air drive 2 miles to work parked and when I got back 12 hours later flat again . So I could not go to discount right away but I called them and told them I would be in in about 10 days when I was off next. 09/04/24 I went in and they fixed the tires. They also did rotation. In 10/11/24 I had another flat I sent the tire in with a co worker cause I had no spare On. 10/11/24. . then on 10/27/24 my car was shaking I took it to the same body guy who did my tire rods. Bushings alignment rotors and brakes and asked him to check he said well all good but your tires are shot all 4 and one has a weird round deep gauge in the center he's never seen b4 . I took pics. I was coming in and 26 mi from discount (52 mile drive one way in total) I got a flat had 2call a tow 4 290. I was upset they said they were replacing all 4 tires they were obviously not good or defected. Then he said he would give me an upgraded tire . He put 4 kuhmo tires in later found out was a ***** tire at ******* when my originals were 150 a piece. About 2 months later when my car shaking again I took it to the mechanic . He said **** all 4 tires are worn at the same these are not the right tires 4 your car . I had driven a total of ***** miles total.since I took in car on 10/29 it was 01/15 they said no warranty honored he would sell me 4 tires for 625Business Response

Hello,I am filing a complaint against America's Tire in ****** CA. I took in my 2022 ram 1500 for 4 new tires due to low thread and one flat tie. They change my tires and everything was good. Then after I went down the street to buy some food when I noticed that the wheel was leaking air. So, I took back my vehicle and told the workers that the wheel was leaking air. So, they took off the wheel and noticed that the rim was damaged. So, then I told them that was not there when I took it to them and that they damaged it while they were changing the tire. They started saying that it was me when I was driving and maybe hit a pothole. But there no way because I only drove the vehicle to the appointment. Also, a plastic cover that is in the rear of the vehicle was missing due to them taking it off to put the spare tire back under the vehicle. When I told them about the missing piece, they said it was never there So now they damaged my rim and lost a cover and insist to buy a new rim for $710. But I don't deserve to buy a new rim that I never broke. So, the next day the manger called me and asked for pictures of the damaged rim. I sent him the pictures and have not heard from them since. I don't know why they never told me while they were putting on the tire. They should of check the rim before adding the tire. And I know it was never damaged because since the day I bought the new tires till the appointment it never went flat. I'm asking if you can help speeding up the process due to needing vehicle to travel to work and other necessity and if they can replace the rim. Please and thank you!Business Response

Business Damaged my vehicle and refuses to take responsibility.On December 14, 2014, I purchased a set of tires for my 2021 **** F-150 through Discount Tire at ***************************************During the tire installation, Discount Tire damaged all four of the wheels on my truck. The damage was not present before the installation but was clearly visible after.The store manager and another associate took pictures of the damage and forwarded to their claims department. I was subsequently contacted by the claims department who again made me take and submit pictures of the damages which I provided along with the estimate to replace the wheels.On 1-8-25 I was notified that Discount Tire was denying responsibility for the claim due to the damage being caused by curb rash and I was offered $250.00 to settle the claim which I declined.On 1-21-25 I was notified that my claim was closed.I paid $1500 for tires and installation, and Discount Tire did $6,000 of damage to my vehicle and refuses to acknowledge the issue or be accountable.Business Response

Their claims team wasnt there, They didnt see what I saw with techs running and throwing tools because they were two hours behind. They didnt see the techs place my wheels on the shop floor with no protection. They damaged my vehicle and no one is interested in even discussing it. We are far from done

Bought tires a year age at the **************************************** location, for the front axle on a 1990 gmc 1500. Tires had a ***** mile garantie and only made it ***** miles before the cords were showing. Vehicle had a new front suspension installed and aligned about a year ago, and I run the same highway back and forth to work everyday.Went in last friday,the 31st of february 2025,to have them replaced and was told that they were not going to honor any garantie as I had mud grips in the rear,and this so called " staggered mounting" voided the warrantie. This is the second set of tires purchased from them. The first set did the same thing but the warantie was honored with no word about staggered mounting,and I also had mud grips on the rear at the time.The questions I have now are,is this new corporate policy to save money or did the service manager just make it up.If it is policy now,how will the new corvettes ,mustangs ,and camaros be handled as they all come factory with staggered mounting.Went to ******* and got better tires cheaper. To Whom It May Concern,I am formally disputing charges related to a transaction at ************* on January 31, 2025, located on ************** in *******. The charges are fraudulent, and I was misled regarding the services provided, which violated consumer protection laws and unfairly exploited my vulnerable situation.I was towed to ******** Tire after my vehicles tire deflated due to the illegal removal of my valve cap. I requested a tire repair, as both the tow truck driver and police officer indicated that it appeared air had been let out of the tire. I also clearly communicated to the staff that I needed the most affordable solution available, as I had no other means of transportation and had contracted the tow through ****Despite my clear instructions, Americas Tire proceeded to replace the tire with an expensive one that I neither requested nor could afford. The total charge for the tire replacement was $349, which is significantly higher than the fair market value for a CLA 250 tire, which typically ranges from $100 to $250. Additionally, I had no ride home and was in a difficult and vulnerable position as a woman in a remote location, which further contributed to my inability to make an informed *********** brother was also on the phone during this transaction and repeatedly objected to the replacement, affirming that it was not the appropriate course of action.This conduct constitutes a violation of the California Consumer Legal Remedies Act (CLRA) and the Unfair Competition Law (UCL), which prohibit deceptive business practices and fraudulent charges. I was not able to find the Discount Tire Location in ********* listed. My issue is specifically with that location at:***************************************** I purchased 4 tires and during the installation process a lug stud was damaged. It was damaged to point that the installation process was not able to be completed. I ended up taking my vehicle to two different repair locations, the first one was a Car-X a block away from the Discount Tire location. They informed me that the rounding of the lug stud was more than the equipment they had could handle and they were unable after several attempts to remove the lug stud. They informed me that it appeared to them that someone damaged the lug stud with an impact driver before loosening the lug by had with a breaker bar. I then was able to get into a local ********************** near me and they needed to drill out the head of the lug stud to remove the tire and then remove the remainder of the lug stud from the hub of the wheel. That required 2 and 1/2 hours of the labor. The cost to me for the removal of a lug stud that Discout Tire was $480.48. I returned to the ***************************************** location to finish the installation the the fourth tire I had purchased. When I presented my receipt for the labor charges a representative, I believe the name was *******, a guy with clear frame glasses, refused to reimburse me for the additional expenses I had incurred. By my estimates there were roughly $190 in what I would call soft expenses for installation and a certificate for refund or replacement. None of those charges were offered as a refund to help offset some of my expenses. I do not care that a lug sud was damaged in the installation process, I do care that the damage was unable to be repaired without additional repair expense. If the shop in ********* has the tools to damage lug studs, they should probably have drills and bits that can remove the damaged parts that they cause. I am asking for a minimum of $480.48.Business Response

Date of transaction: December 26, 2024 Paid: $732.62 I purchased a set of four new tires for my vehicle, which totaled over $700. Unfortunately, I have since discovered multiple errors in the installation that compromised my safety and necessitated additional corrections by another mechanic.The issues I encountered are as follows:1. Loose lug nuts: After the service, I began hearing rattling noises whenever I braked. I took my car to the mechanic to change my brakes, but I still heard the rattling noise. Ive already spend too much money on mechanics so I had my friends take a look at it. They are very knowledgeable when it comes to cars. it was discovered that the lug nuts on all four wheels, particularly the front tires, were not tightened properly. This could have resulted in catastrophic consequences, such as a tire detaching while driving, especially considering that I drive extensively for work.2. Incorrect tire mounting: The left rear tire was installed backward, with the inside label facing outward. This error not only reflects poor attention to detail but also compromises the tires performance and safety.These errors are unacceptable for a professional tire service provider, especially given the potential for severe accidents due to improperly secured tires. I entrusted Discount Tire to provide safe and reliable service, and I am disappointed that basic safety measures were not *********** resolve this matter, I am requesting the following:1. I will preface we have 3 vehicles in home and only have used Discount Tires for over 10 years. I took the car for a rotation as usual on 3/12/2024 and returned the next day with a noise that was not there previously. I customarily rotate my tires and never have a problem. By the next day 3/13/2024 after seeing them again, to recheck the tire rotation. The car is now barely driveable. I contact a mechanic who tells me the drive shaft and axle both need repairs. The car was clunking and no one would take responsibility. I paid over 3K to repair the vehicle and returned to them multiple times stating the damage that was found due to their incompentency and changing the tires without changing it to the proper size and they said they could replace two tires. WHATTTT is happening here. They never admitted fault stating they "notify their customers" which is bs. If you look at the original receipt which they kindly reprinted which states "when replacing less than 4 tires they recommend placement to be made on the rear axle of the vehicle". Fast forward and several thousand dollars later. The drive shaft was damaged causing over 3K in damages. I went and spoke to the manager, providing documentation of the repairs emailed their corporate office and their response was the attached letter. This is a **** tire place. How can they not know different sizes cause damage? Why would you replace 1 tire and then blame the customer. I have been a loyal paying customer for over 10 years, they did not acknowledge the damage that clearly occured after leaving their facility. They are refuse to acknowledge it was their fault. They wouldn't even half the cost and had the audacity to send a letter stating "the company would have to have been found liable". Well who the heck is going to find you liable I ask?? Do I need to reattach the attachments. Their response is not satisfactory as it only benefits them. Again they can say they did not cause the damage but the vehicle didnt have any issues until it was brought in. They can deny it all day long but it was their fault. Who is making that determination?
