They are predatory in their marketing. My mother was concerned when popups said her computer was at risk (though Windows has its own antivirus). She ended up with duplicate (two charges right in a row) AVG Antivirus subscriptions as well as Secure VPN. I asked and she didn't even know what a VPN was! When I contacted AVG, they would only refund the most current (30 day) charges, even though it was obvious with the duplicates and her not knowing what a VPN is but it was marketed in such a way she bought it, then it keeps pushing so she buys two! She never had use of any of this because she didn't receive clear instructions on installing it anyway. She spent over $452.09 that was not refunded for something she never could use. AVG's popup scare tactic advertising is predatory to seniors and also less computer savvy individuals. I would like my mother refunded all her charges due to the nature of AVG's marketing.

After an auto renewal that I did not request, I asked for a refund. Three requests for this refund and still nothing. This is very frustrating. I talked to customer service on three different occasions with no refund received.

Had Norton for years for all of my family's devices but we will not be renewing once our current subscription expires. The chief complaint is that there are too many popups, and quite frankly there should only be alerts when something is wrong or there has not been a scan done recently. Norton chose to make their program send popups to the desktop, that minimize games if you are playing btw, every day. Sometimes multiple times an hour. The program that I pay good money for is nothing more than scareware now that is constantly putting out what are essentially advertisements on my desktop. I don't pay money to grant Norton permission to advertise to me, and won't be paying for that kind of treatment in the future.

I have been trying to cancel my subscription with Norton for months. I do not like this business because I am bombarded with upsells all of the time. I do not want to do business with them. When I try to chat.....I am told that they need to get back with me. I need help cancelling my contract with this company that has no real customer assistance!

I have been getting unending pop-*** from: McAfee, ******************************************* and Norton, *********************************************, . These pop-up ads state that my PC has a virus, oops viruses numbering from 3 in some ads and 16 in others. I have protection from Total AV, so I suggest these claims are outright lies. These very ANNOYING ads pop-up every few seconds and block what I am doing, so I must stop what I am doing and delete them.

Subject: Complaint Regarding Unauthorized Norton Charges I would like to formally express my complaint regarding unauthorized charges made by Norton on my credit card. This issue has occurred again this year, despite my efforts last year to cancel all transactions with this company due to their practices. I refuse to pay the $200 charge they are requesting.Last year, I voiced my concerns about this practice as well. I initially purchased ********* 365 many years ago, which included Norton software for free. However, they are now charging me without my consent.Although Norton claims to provide protection, I experienced hacking incidents twice in 2025, prompting me to uninstall all their software from my computer.**** *******

i went to norton lifelock chat page, and was told to sign in, go to manage my account to cancel and future subscriptions and charges. I attempted this three times and could not reach the proper page to cancel my account.

DO NOT subscribe or buy this as the previous review/feedback I also thought I unsub the renewal, but they change the layout or "update" the website so much that it confuses the customer and then defaults it back to "subscribe". If you are navigating through the website the page is so confusing even like me who spends much time on computers and such. **************** in the web is non existent, it lets you open windows after another just to look for the chat window or who to contact, that too is giving you the run around. Also, we realized when we used the Norton, we had a lot of junk mail when we used it.

Purchased the Norton VPN for a year code through Newegg. Went to enter the code in the Norton site but it forces you to add a credit card. It does not allow you to use the product without a credit card. It also wants you to check off a box accepting future charges. There is no way to bypass this per customer support. This is bad business practice. Demanding to keep a credit card on file for something you already purchased, so you forget to cancel and they charge you is poor and unnecessary.

Norton and Lifelock part of Gen Digital. ******** customer service. They charge a high fee for protection that they do not provide and everything is an extra add on. Do not use this company.
