Horrible company! I was automatically renewed and I thought I cancelled my subscription, but the cancellation process in multi stepped and very confusing, so it never went through. I called them and submitted proof of what I thought was proof of the cancellation and they refused to accept it. Now, because it's outside of the 30 day window for cancellation, they are keeping ALL of my money! They do not refund after 30 days AND they don't do partial refunds. My subscription renewed in December and they are forcing me to keep the subscription and refusing to refund any money at all. They are crooked and unethical. They make it extremely difficult to stop your subscription. I hope there is a class action suit against them! Based on the other comments here, I am not alone. Avast has been screwing a lot of people out of their money.

UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES They are thieves! I have never used Avast or authorized them to bill my account, so I was very surprised to discover unauthorized Avast charges on my ****** account. ********************** confirmed the charges are related to the personal E-mail address of a former business partner, and that they sent notification of impending charges to her, rather than to me; the sole authorized account holder. While I can understand the mix-up, I cannot tolerate their poor handling of the matter. Avast has refused to reimburse me for one of the unauthorized charges because it is outside of their 30-day refund policy. However, my state provides a 3-year statute of limitations for financial harm, and my rights shall not be diminished by their own refund policy.

I started out with free Avast software. It seemed to worked ok. So, I decided to try antivirus protection for my MacBook Pro. I started a subscription ($105.99) and downloaded the software. It basically incapacitated my laptop. I couldn't use Safari or any other browser I have, and I need internet access for work. It was so incredibly slow! I couldn't see dealing with that for any space of time, so I enacted a cancellation and uninstalled the software. I didn't think anything of it after the cancellation. I was pretty clear that their software was not working with our devices. Unbeknownst to me, two accounts were created when I started the subscription, so when I called, they only cancelled one of the two accounts and, on November 6, 2024, they charged the "other" account. Keep in mind I only had ONE subscription. **************** was terrible, obviously, and the woman I spoke to argued with me about having two accounts and that only one of the accounts was cancelled - and it was obviously the account that wasn't accruing any charges... Go figure! I wouldn't trust this business with a dollar!

We removed auto renew. Have the email proving it. The charged us. Called, had them refund and cancel. Within ONE HOUR they CHARGED us AGAIN. Took forever to figure out how to manually remove and cancel everything even though they did it over the phone and I had the emails to prove it. I even called my bank to make sure they couldnt charge again. Add to that the service *****. It slowed the computer down pushed for upgrades. Trash.

NortonLifeLock has been stealing from me each year because they are making it so hard to locate them to cancel a subscription service.

I cancelled my subscription and ***** cancelled my subscription and auto renewal with Avast one day before the trial ended back in 2023 Sept 3rd. They still managed to bill me through ****** even though I had suspended the subscription. I was billed again 2024 Nov 13th for the exact same amount from River Digital (Avast premium), that's when I saw the charge from 2023 which I never authorized or gave consent.I would stay away from their trials, it's a scam. Also, Avast anti virus will cause internet protocol issues if you don't uninstall properly which wasted a lot of my time.

This is a good antivirus program I have used for a couple of decades. I recently called because of a software issue with the program. After the tech fixed the issue, he attempted to renew my subscription for more than the renewal rate. I declined and said, Thank you, no several times. He then started to open different programs and I instructed him to stop. He didnt and when I instructed him to disconnect, he didnt. I hung up on him and turned my computer off. This is inappropriate behavior and far exceeded the permission I gave to fix the issue when it went to a hard sell and began to open different files. The program is good, the service is criminal. Do not call for assistance. This why I give them 1 star.

Norton Lifelock is a scam. They do not answer the phone. I have been waiting almost 3 weeks for them to call me back. **************** is NOT in ***. **************** would not, or could not tell me how this service works. They keep repeating the million dollar insurance commercial over and over again. I don't think they even understand any of the questions you ask. When you finally get to a Restoration Specialist, or even know that's what you need to do next, they brush you off and tell you to do everything. As the identity theft problems start to pile up Norton doesn't call you back. When you call you get an answering machine. If you try to call a second time, the answering machine tells you that you already have a call on file and they will call you back when they are available, then it hangs up on you. Trying to work with Norton Lifelock is as stressful as the identity theft itself.

Norton doesn't respect their stated refund policyNorton's refund policy states that you can cancel anytime & be refunded for the balance of your subscription. This is far from my experience. ******************* replyers on verified Norton sites repeatedly told me that; "Due to system restrictions we are not able to initiate the refund of the order's older than 60 days." This is a complete contradiction of the refund policy stated on their web site. Also, their 1 800 support number doesn't work. This is no way to do business. After reading so many negative similar experiences on many web sites, it is clear that this company is knowingly and repeatedly defrauding users.
