      Worst credit union ever! We have been members for over 20 years. They were great in the beginning, but we can't get our money released to buy a house. They only have 1 phone # and the wait time is rediculous! Time to find another credit union.

      I have banked with Hughes for over 20 years. They used to be amazing, however, over the past 5 or so years they've become a complete and total dumpster fire. They don't send out your debit card prior to it expiring, their debit card system fails and you can't access your funds, make purchases, or use your car in anyway. Then they as a bank take the liberty to re-debit any charges, even if the company was able to get a charge to pass, essentially double and triple charging you. Customer service is also a dumpster fire, and their loan department has become ridiculous to work with too. I would run as fast as you can the other way towards any other financial institution at this point. It's absolutely horrid now!! Oh and less I forget... they'll lock up your debit card with no way to unlock it until regular business hours if you even travel out of your city (this includes when you tell them your traveling). And their 24/7 fraud department is NEVER open unless it's business hours, so you're screwed there too!

      They have some of the worst customer service. When I first refinanced my car with them it seemed to be all good. I refinanced with them to get my spouse off my loan since we were no longer together. After a few months with them, making all my payments on time, I was going to be late on one payment because of some personal issues with my divorce. I let the bank know ahead of time I will be 10 days late, the lady I spoke to said itll be fine, shell put it in the notes and told me thank you for letting them know ahead of time. I said great! Thanks! Then 3 days after being late I get a call from a guy from the bank threatening to repo my car. I explained my call with the lady about me letting her know Ill be 10 days late. The guy said theres no notes and they are going to reposes the car. So they did. I had to pay $723 to get it out of repo. From there plus many other things going on in my life I started falling behind. They would BOT work with me at all, they are so quick to threaten with repoing your car. They dont care about working out something, they dont care about anything going on in your life even though anyone can see how the world is now days with inflation and just everything sky rocketing in price. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS CREDIT UNION!!!

      I got a refinance with Hughes Federal Credit in 2019. I made every payment on time and paying more than contract required monthly. I had actually paid up for 3 months in advance in January 2023 I was paid ahead until May 2023. I applied for a new loan to finance my new truck. I was turned down for a loan based on my credit report having 2 other vehicles financed. We had same vehicles when they financed my other truck. They are racist toward brown and black people. Underwriting department at this credit union needs retention training for excellent customers. I never missed or was late with any of my payments. I had a preapproval at first and then I was declined based on someone there in Underwriting. I got financing with another lender. I thought sure I could get finance with Hughes because of my excellent payment history with them.

      I am a current Hughes member and the only reason i am is mainly for my car loan and then decided to open a line.of credit and credit card and since i have had my credit card there has been NOTHing but issues and half only been able to use it one now there is a fraud claim which i never filed on it and a new card is coming. I am complely unhappy with them

      Ive been with Hughes for over 16 years. Unfortunately I have had nothing but issues since about 5 years ago. My most recent experience was the fact they reassured me they sent my new debit card 3 weeks ago only to find out it was never sent and I was told she probably never actually checked. So in order to expedite my card they refused to waive the $30 fee and because it was a Friday said we wont mail it till Monday. They absolutely do not care about their members anymore. As soon as I get my debit card I will be transferring my money to a new bank because after I got off the phone I felt like they just used me. Do not bank here- find a smaller credit Union that actually cares.

      I knew this company was shady. I tried refinancing with them. After we signed paperwork work they sat on it for 2 months only to tell me to pay a down payment for refinancing. .. that was strange because Ive never had anyone pay a down payment for refinancing. Having wasted 2 months sitting on paper and having asked me to send unbelievable documentation and running my credit.. turns out unless I pay them a down payment they will not refinance. Horrible horrible company. !!!!!!! Conclusion here is either they dont know what they are doing or.. I was racially discriminated.

      I totally regret entrusting Hughes Federal Credit Union ("HFCU") with my hard earned retirement savings and opening up an Jumbo Money Market account online last January. Their Ultimate Money Market was advertised with an APY of ****%, with no restrictions. Although the process was effective and the staff was responsive, they failed me where it matters the most. When it came to returning my money, they refused to pay any dividends accrued during the current quarter. They claimed that if you close your account before dividends are credited, you will NOT receive the accrued dividends. In my case, July, August and 20 days in September was apparently forfeited. I was instructed that if I wanted to dispute this "final" decision, I was to do it in writing addressed to the ********** of ********** After writing them a certified letter, they immediately credited said earned dividends to my account. I got my dividends but this aggravation was a very stressful experience for a customer that acted in good faith and was only asking for what is rightfully his.

      Thank you HFCU for your comment to my review. My review certainly has to do with improving your member's experience but insofar as a resolution is concerned, this has to do with HFCU's ill practices to "squeeze" a customer, for their own financial benefit and a failed attempt to wrongfully withhold a customer's earned dividends with the intent of depriving the customer. This creating a burden and needless stress. An acceptable resolution would rather be HFCU to face up to this instance and adopt greater business integrity.
