After using viasat for approximately a month, their plans have lies and have not stayed up to par with what they offered. They said we used all of our data in 3 days. Which is not possible considering all we did was stream movies on the internet. After calling to cancel they want to charge you $15 a month saying you are bound under a contract even if you do not receive said contract by email. They will pull your payments from your account without a bill or anything claiming they are a paperless business.

After being cheated by Viasat 2 other times in the regrettable involvement with this company they've not really topped it all.. the 2 nd account I pay for is on my sons property adjacent to my home. He moved out of state I've been trying to get viasat to cancel the service but no reply yet (no surprise) the equipment and service has literally be dormant since my son moved 2 months ago. Today viasat sends me a text stating 'you're almost out of high speed data see our plans for increasing your data, etc etc' no person has accessed the data on this account at all the dish is literally laying on the ground... viasat thinks I need to buy more data.. omg...

I have had Viasat for almost 2 years. Let me start at the beginning. We had a home built in the country and this was one of the only internet options. At the time, the best plan we could afford was the 30mbps/100gb high speed data a month with unlimited standard data. Our installation was scheduled. They called to tell us they had an earlier opening, so we took them up on their offer. The weather ended up being bad that day so they didn't actually show up until 2 weeks after our original date. ************** was rude. He cursed the entire time and even had me help with running cables since my husband wasn't home. He drilled a hole through a seemingly random spot on our floor to run the lines. He installed the dish on the roof (which I didn't realize was an issue until...)A couple months later, ********* came to install cable. They used to partner with Viasat. The technician asked if our Viasat installer asked for permission to install the dish on the roof. I told him they did not ask and, in turn, the cable technician informed me that they are supposed to ask since it voids the warranty for the roof. Apparently, they can install it on a post instead of the roof, but that option was not presented to me nor was permission asked for roof installation. We don't get the 30mbps upload/download speeds. We have run countless speed tests and sit at about 12mbps. The "standard" unlimited data does absolutely nothing. Can't load web pages or apps on the phone. It's pretty much useless, so once your "high speed" data is up, you have nothing unless you buy more. When I tried to switch to a plan that had more data, it requires you to sign another 2 year contract, which I refuse to do. Extremely expensive for terrible internet. Luckily, another provider is running lines in our area and this sham of a company will be just a distant memory.

I have been a Viasat customer for 6 years. No issues on the install. I bought the equipment up front instead of monthly lease. It was for my cabin which is only used half the year. In the past I could change to vacation mode during the winter months for a minimal monthly fee, and back to full service each spring. This year they continued to charge me full price after I called to request the change. After 3 phone calls I was told they changed policies and to change to vacation mode they want to swap out all the equipment (not possible in the winter for my cabin). Apparently there is no way to just change to vacation mode without a technician visit, like they have in the past. Also an extra charge of $95 for a technician fee. I decided to cancel my service. I asked for a refund based on 2 months of documented conversations and being charged full price. Their policy is absolutely no refunds. They then said they shipped a new modem out last month (which i did not request or authorize) and said if I don't return the modem they will charge another $300...The modem was shipped to an address I lived at 5 years ago, so I have no way to return...So essentially if you ever cancel your service you are going to be jammed for $300+ dollars, per their "policy" ***************** All customer service is in ***** and there is definitely a language barrier when explaining any issues or complaints.

Service was disconnected 8/7/23 because we were moving. We returned all 3 equipment that was given to us. It took them 3 attempts before they actually got us a box to send the equipment back in. 3 months after sending the equipment back, I am charged 250 for not returning all of the equipment. I filed a escalation because 1- all 3 parts were sent back in 1 box and the other 2 boxes they sent were disguarded. 2 the account is NOT even in my name. I filed escalation on Nov 13. Here it is Dec 5th and am told for the 5th time, I have to wait for the escalation to be resolved.

Viasat acts in bad faith towards its customers. Not only did my husband and I, during the last few months of our contract, have to pay the $39.99 per month extra several times a month because they said we had reached our limit, but our regular use (we had the best plan they offer) would reach its limit in 15 days, and when we would call, they had no solution for us. Our bill for just the two of us (both over 60 years old and dont game) was between $450-$650 per month. We finally switched to Starlink and pay $120 a month for service. Never are we throttled. But as a last punch in the face to loyal customers when you cancel, they make you climb up on a tall metal extension ladder to the rooftop, try to use the wrench they include in the box, which does not fit, plus very high, very dangerous, to remove a piece from the dish called the ***** Since their wrench did not fit, we tried all of our voluminous sizes of wrenches (none fit), and the instructions for also using a ******** had do not apply to either of the photos they sent that should have been our tree, so we had to unscrew the entire arm which the **** was on, and then it would not fit in the box they sent us to send it back. Call customer Svc for help? They will gladly charge you $95 to have someone come out, but if the **** is not returned, you will be charged $150 because Its in the contract. There are numerous complaints online about these tactics, even from employees saying they get a free work order and $50 more from doing this, but free to customers. That is false. This company is a despicable to its customers. Run dont walk away from them. And soon if not already a customer is going to fall and break their neck, trying to get this piece off of the satellite dish to return, and this company will be sued and sued and sued, as they should be. We are disgusted.

Worst customer service ever. Promised me an extension but I had to wait until the services were suspended. When someone needs an extension they are already having issues and after a year with Viasat this was the first time my account was not paid by the due date. Called and spoke to two very rude agents who didnt even try to assist me, one said It is what it is. Very rude and unprofessional. They told me they dont even do extensions, so why would I be promised one in the first place? May not mean much to the next but for anyone who doesnt appreciate spending money with someone and being treated as if you dont matter, THIS would be the company to avoid entirely.

Please stay away from this company. We were advised that there is only two internet provider in my area. I chose to go and get Viasat which is the worst decision ever. I told them i work from home and was advised that it will work for me and my area so we proceeded. I cant even open any email or any email attachment. I called them to cancel the service after a week or so of installation and was told i will need to pay the month charge of $70 and $329 cancellation fee. I told them i lost few days of my work pay since i cannot do my work and there is nothing in writing about the cancellation terms and requested to send me a return label/box so i can return the equipment on 11/22 and was told to wait for 7 days. until this day i have not received the box and when i called i was told they are not able to send it until after December 12th. Please save yourself trouble and stay away from this company .Rudest people i have encountered. I hope BBB can step up and protect people like us from Viasat scamming people. this is a straight robbery.
