I have been waiting on my solar panels to be inspected by the county for almost two months now. The SS account Exec has changed the inspection date three times telling me the county is responsible for the date changes. When I contacted the County they verified they have not changed any inspection dates but **** from SS has been rescheduling the inspection every time. This is dishonest and ethical and I want compensation for the two months of electric bills Ive had to pay since SS keeps rescheduling and pushing out my inspection. Fraudulent! I have emails to prove that the acct Exec has been lying to me about this since October.Business Response

Hello thank you for reaching out about thisWe Did not reschedule the appointments, the *** did. We install more than 250 projects per week. We do not get paid in full until we pass final inspection. What possible motivation could we have to not want to get paid for the work we have done? On the other hand nearly 100% of the time when the *** makes a mistake they blame the contractor. I don't think it's reasonable to assume that we are lying because we have motivation counter to what you're describing and of course I'm not sure the government bureaucracy is the most reliable source of the truth.
We Will do what we can to bring this project to a satisfying conclusion as soon as possible
Thank you

I was told by the County of Riverside that Semper Solaris was pushing back the inspection dates three different scheduled times for the last two months NOT the County. That is why I believe your company has not been truthful with me. And at this point I'm going with what they tell me at the County since my past experiences with your company has proven that you do NOT stand by your word. Perhaps I should start from the beginning. After the sale was made for my solar panels during the summer I heard nothing from my sales consultant. To this day I still don't know why he went "missing" and he was supposed to be my main contact throughout the process. Then scheduling my solar installation was very difficult and also pushed back almost two weeks after I had already taken the time off of work and moved my entire schedule around. The panels were installed in early october and here we are in December still awaiting my system to be commissioned so that the panels will start working for me. Since SS chose to come out and do the inspection on a day I told them there would be a power outage in my area, this syncing process was postponed. Today there was supposed to be a tech coming to do this but of course, again, nobody showed and no one from SS responded to me inquiries. So I've been paying off my solar loan the last two months AND paying an electric bill, YAY. There was also a discrepancy with the **** request your company submitted to SCE and I'm still awaiting response about when this will be corrected since it's due by Dec 28. I want to be compensated for the money I've been paying outta pocket b/c of your company's failure to stand by their promises. I've also missed several days of work b/c of this whole situation. And yes, getting my solar panels to actually work asap would also be great. Thank you.Business Response

Solar panels were installed in June 2022 at a residence address of *********************************************************************. This address was used by Semper Solaris on their building permit application submittal to the *****************. However, the address of the electric meter that the solar panels are connected to is *****************************************. This is a separate meter from the meter at the main dwelling structure at ************************, and serves a bedroom and two car garage in a detached structure. Both the meter and the detached structure were legally permitted by the ***************** decades ago.Because the permit application incorrectly identified the meter address, the ***************** authorized SDG&E to connect service to the solar panels from the **** ****** avenue meter. So, the solar panels are still not functional since they are not physical connected to that address. A member of Semper Solaris staff was told in person by a ***************** inspector in June 2022 that the meter address was incorrect and needed to be changed on the permit plans. However, the Semper Solaris employee never followed through on this request and this company to date has still not corrected this. I have advised Semper Solaris on multiple occasions that they should physically go to the ************************************************* and meet in person with city staff to explain the situation and get the meter address corrected. Again, to date, that have not done so. As a result, I have had to pay higher electrical bills for the meter at **************************** than I should have since June 2022. The resolution I am seeking is the following:1. Semper Solaris goes to the ***************** as soon as possible to correct the meter address and then confirm that the ***************** notifies SDG&E that they are authorized to connect the panels to the meter at *******************************************. Reimburse me for excess electric charges I have paid due to Semper Solaris' lack of follow upBusiness Response

Hello thank you for reaching out
We Do not agree with the customer's characterization as to what has happened so far. However, we will do we can to help fix the city's records.
Thank you
Customer Answer
Date: 12/16/2022
Their response that they will merely do their best is unacceptable. They need to actually fix the problem and make the solar panels functional before I will consider my complaint resolved since their incompetence and lack of follow through caused the problem in the first place. To this point since the panels were installed 5 months ago and still dont work they have never "done their best". Their statement that they don't agree with my characterisation is not supported by any evidence on their part and borders on an outright lie in my view.Business Response

I hired this company to install solar panels and a battery. The installation was performed in September and I immediately began having electrical issues in my home: power outages, appliances shorting out and permanently destroyed, indoor electrical fires in wiring and power strips, flickering lights, and other major fire hazards and inconveniences. I have contacted the company numerous times and they have taken responsibility for the damage, stating the installation was faulty, there was a loose neutral wire that was causing damage, the wrong breakers were installed, etc. To date, I am still having electrical issues in my home (lights & outlets that don't work) and appliances that flicker when turned on. The company is very difficult to reach, does not return calls, and refuses to send an electrician to inspect and/or fix the ongoing issues. Furthermore, the project cannot pass inspection so I have solar panels and a battery that are not functional.Business Response

We contracted with Semper Solaris in March to install a solar system on our home. I have several complaints about this company. 1) we were told that the job would take 3 days and it took almost 4 weeks from start to completion. 2) They came out sometime after the work was completed to take pictures but apparently the pictures did not come out well so they have made appointments with us 4 times and have been a no show to come back. 3) The biggest issue we have with them is in regards to an additional charge for $2,500. We were told that we needed a new panel and copper wire pulled from ************ to the house. We told them that if it was just a new panel that we could have our own electrician do the work for a much lesser amount but they said that they had to pull wire so we agreed to have them do the work. Ultimately all that needed to be done was a replacement of the panel and no copper wire was pulled. We have tried unsuccessfully to talk to someone about a refund for a portion of this money and for more than 2 months have been given the run around, no return calls, and each time we call back to inquire we are given another person to speak to who never calls back to discuss the situation. We would like to get a refund of $1,000 as we paid $2,500 which includes work never completed. They have never given us a written change order for this work, but took the full amount out in the final payment for the contract (original contract was for $44,960 and total payments made are for $47,460 as shown in attached supporting documents). Per their own contract all changes are to be in writing. Your help in resolving this situation is most greatly appreciated.Business Response

Upon installation of a solar assisted power wall, this company destroyed every appliance in my kitchen due to a faulty wiring connection on their part. Although they reimbursed us for the appliances that were destroyed we were five weeks without any kitchen appliances i.e.; stove, microwave, refrigerator - the fridge was 1 1/2 weeks old. They told us to save receipts for the inconvenience and expenses incurred. We did and submitted them and thats when they continued to put us off and they refused saying; we need funding for the job first! Needless to say the power wall still does not work as promised and we have not yet been compensated for our loss so far. They have put a mechanics lien on our property and have made no effort to conclude this matter. The compensation we are seeking is less than $2500 for five weeks without a fridge. We have tried time and time again to resolve this issue but they refuse. The reason we havent yet funded this project is because we havent been taken care of. Anything that you can do would be so appreciated. Thank you! Also We have all the copies of our receipts to justify our expenses.Business Response

Hello thank you for reaching outYes due to an unfortunate electrical malfunction some of the ******************* was damaged.
We agreed to the mentioned reimbursement amount although the homeowner refused to sign the agreement. This homeowner owes over ****** for their system that is 100% functioning and has passed inspection along with monitoring and permission to operate. We are of course not going to practically pay this money by the customer owes ****** plus
As we have initiated legal action against this customer I do think that we should curtail discussion via the BBB pending the outcome of litigation.
Thank you.

I purchased solar from Semper Solaris 3 years ago. I have had more problems than good with this solar company. My true up bill is more than any of my cohorts that have solar. I have a total of 54 panels on my roof and I have 4 people in my house. My true up is anywhere from $3000 to $5000 a year. I want my system to work properly.Business Response

In March 2022, we agreed to purchase solar panels and batteries. We were notified 3 months later to obtain the loan and confirmed with the company the timing was correct, considering permits and installation had not been done. They confirmed it was all part of the process and the 3 month delay in the first payment for the loan would be enough time to sort out any potential issues and ensure the system is up and running. Its been 8 months and we still do not have a working system. This is a result of the company having unnecessary delays and incompetent mistakes in their designs, permits, and overall communication. They have assigned our project to numerous different employees throughout the months, all of who claim they are there to assist us, but yet are rarely available. We have maintained records of all the unnecessary delays that are not on the citys permit process or us, but soley a result of the companies failures. We have attempted numerous times to reach out to an executive employee, but are dismissed. As a result, we are paying an electric bill ******** and a loan payment every month, and they have not made this a priority in any capacity.Business Response

This is the same response we have been getting for months. We have been assigned numerous different project managers, all of who cannot give us responses or information in a timely or put us in contact with the people who have authority to finish this project. It appears the employees are resigning or being let go, causing our project to change hands numerous times with no clarity. How long is it acceptable to say we are looking into this and then never do anything. This is our livelihood and draining our finances by having to pay for electric and solar loans, and no one seems to care at the extended time frame this project has taken. Its completely unacceptable and the incompetence is glaring. I expect contact in regards to an IMMEDIATE SOLUTION.Business Response

Hello thank you for reaching out
Yes We have had some difficulty with this AHJ and fire authority. We have been in constant and frequent communication with the homeowner during this process and should have this resolved soon. Although we do successfully complete more than ********************* ********** each and every week we do occasionally have difficulty with local jurisdictions That look for any excuse to delay and create issues for no good reason. For example we submitted a minor in basically meaningless plan change per the city's request 11 days ago and are still waiting for them to review.
We have completed many projects in the jurisdiction and will be successful here as well.Customer Answer
Date: 11/29/2022
There is no excuse for the repeated delays on Semper Solaris behalf, including multiple employees resigning and our project not being handed off in a timely fashion, or the repeated submissions of permits with the same mistakes, despite the corrections listed by the fire or city departments. Or the promises of communication, followed by no communication. The incompetence is unacceptable and I still havent heard any resolution. I have asked repeatedly for compensation as I am paying for the solar panel loan and also my electric bill for numerous months, and have yet to even hear any gesture which would help this situation. Its clear this company doesnt care about the customer. Lets see how final inspection goes, because Im not optimistic at this point.Initial Complaint

We installed Semper Solaris's solar panels on May of 2015 We don't get PGNE bills after that. By 8/19/2022 I called PGNE and found out I have a bill of $510. system was broken since October of 2020.I gone through called and called to Semper Solaris, as well as ********* with no luck from 9/1/22 to 10/11/22, I also talked to few solar repairs companies, they told me they could fix my panels in less than a month, but, if I use them directly my warranty become worthless. On late night of 10/10/22, I posted my encounter on ******* and got a call from their ********, ** office. I can't see semper solaris's responds. Please send me an email letting me know how to find their responds. Further more, day before yesterday, when I spoke with your representative ******, I told her the complain I made was incorrect. My address as well as the details of complain were not correct. She told me to wait for you to contact me and I can put it correctly
Semper S. took $38,812 from me on March of 2015. They told me they'd install a 25 panels of solars system and has 25 years of warranty. On 8/22/2022 when I checked with PGNE and found out their system has broken down back in October of 2020
The agreement their rep presented to me, this rep didn't sign it, so, there is no binding on this agreement. The panels broke down in 5 years, and they are not fixing it, that's breach of contract
My lost
$38,812 of panels
when they were on my roof, they did a damage of $14,820.
I spent $13,500 fixed the ceilings, crawl space
PGNE so far is around $6,651.71
I don't want them to damages more of my roof, so, I need to pay to have someone else remove all their broken panels, which only works 5 years out of 25 years. I got a cheapist estimate is $6000
Please help me to obtain my lost.
Panels was cheap, but the damages they cause is much greater. I only have 30 minutes, so, please let me know your questions, I can put it in more detail
thank you for helping me.
