We purchased a home with existing solar panels that were installed by Solar Semper. We are trying to transfer the service to our name so we can collect the energy. We are unable to get access to our equipment and this can only be provided by Solar Semper. We have reached out multiple times beginning on July 15 and this still is not resolved. Each time we call and follow up we are told that they are working in a call center and someone will get back to us. But this is not happening and it is almost 30 days. This is unacceptable. We would like to be able to use the solar panels and access the power they are generating to offset our electricity bill.Business Response

My roof got re roofed with new material and a new a/c unit and solar program that should keep you peace of mind but now my bathroom ceiling drywall is Maoist and has fallen in and black mold called about this being under warranty they said I live so far away that I need to wait till 8-19-2024 to see what could of happen to made my drywall fall in and be covered in moldBusiness Response

My A/C has never worked since I hired Them to install it. It freezes over every time I use it. They have sent people out to look at, but there is never a resolution. I contacted the person who was in charge of the installation at the time, He said he is no longer with them and He was directed to put an undersized unit in the house because it cost less. During the heat wave, I have reached out to Semper Solaris daily for the last two weeks and have not received a response. I paid good money for a job that was not done correctly, I hired them because they are veteran-owned and believed that meant something. My grad kids just spent a week here visiting from ******* and went home early because the house was 90+ all day. I have tried to resolve but they don't want to cooperate or ever return a call. I did not want to go to the bbb But FIX THIS!!!!Business Response

We contracted Semper Solaris to install our Solar Array in February of 2023. They completed the work a few months later. The work entailed cutting out and removing **** tiles to create a picture frame in two separate places on the roof. Asphalt shingles were put down in those area and panels installed on top of those areas.Semper did not install a membrane between the asphalt tiles and the existing **** tiles.This caused tens of thousands of gallons of water to come into our front room wrecking the sheet rock, baseboards, ceiling and causing mold.Semper admitted fault and has been repairing the damage but their work to date is incomplete and we are three months into the repair and things are going well. They are cutting corners, promising things and not delivering. We have needed to cancel our summer vacation, had our daughters graduation ruined (fmaily couldn't stay here), had to endure a 80db noise from dehumidifiers and fans running in our house for months. Some of the things they have promised but not delivered on are:1)Paying for the excessive electricity that was used to run all of their gear.2)A VRBO for us to stay in while the work was being done. With the noise, three young girls (one with asthma) and 3 dogs in half of our normal living space (the other literally sealed off with plastic) having this promised then taken away was rough.3)Meals out that were agreed to to try to help us deal with the noise since no VRBO was given.4)Not cleaning up paint that was dumped into the property in three different locations.5)Incomplete roof repair - disintegrated paper and rotten wood was not replaced just painted over.6)Lose tiles due to water damage not replaced or repaired all along the affected wall.7)A proper project manager not assigned to the project so we are in essence managing our own project. I work full time and from home so this has been a huge burden.We paid $50K. We have heard there are six other families that this happened to as well.Business Response

Semper Solaris in NOT accepting full responsibility for their negligence and refusing to pay all of our expenses for the damage they caused.
I would like a detailed timeline for when they will address and complete these open items:
1)Full refund for botched solar panel install.
2)Repair of water damaged floor tiles from leak their work caused.
3)Complete repair of roof for damage they caused.
4)Payment to replace mold ridden furniture and carpet.
5)Reimbursement for all expenses they we incurred and claimed that resulted from their faulty work and the water damage it caused.
6)Remove and replace dirt where toxic paint was dumped by their contractors in three flower beds on property.
Looking forward to their detailed response.

We are working with the business to try to resolve all the issues, but they are moving at a snails pace. The work here at our home to fix the damage they caused started in April and its now the first week of July with several items:
1)second roof repair
2)floor repair
3)expense reimbursement
4)paint dumped in flower boxes clean up
5)fireplace redo
outstanding and no timeline for when they will be completed as of July 6th 2024.
Semper Solaris can say they are working with us but they need to do some work and finish what they started to fix the extreme damage they caused.
I need deadlines from them with consequences if they fail to hit those deadlines. They have trashed my familys summer so far and I just want the items above closed out ASAP.

I reached out to the company several times in the past three days regarding booking an appointment to repair my A/C unit. I submitted online service tickets and I have spoken with **************** Representatives over the phone.Every time I call, I get told by the customer service representative, that are unable to assist me and that someone else will contact me. In September of 2023 I reached out to Semper Solaris in order to get a quote for my property. I got a sales rep named ***** who was proactive and set me up with an appointment. After that appointment we agreed to terms on a $110,000 solar project that included about 55 panels, 3 battery banks, and a 400amp panel upgrade. We broke the installation up into two parts in order to get the project financed. The first part was supposed to be 22 panels, a battery bank, and a 400amp panel upgrade. Work began the week before Christmas and took until late February to get signed off on inspection. I got my first bill in February for the solar loan. I noticed that during the first phase of installation which cost me $46,000, they did not install the 400amp panel. So I had to reach out to Semper and PROVE to them that was a part of the scope. They did not have the panel upgrade on the initial permit and had not designed for it as well. A massive oversight. It took me being a proactive customer to find their mistake. I also had to lean on them almost daily to get them to submit the new permit to county. This whole time, ***** my sales rep was **** I eventually stopped reaching out to her because she was not returning my calls or texts. The county permits office contacted me in may 2024 to say they had approved my permit for the 400amp panel. It is now June 20th 2024, and I still have not heard from semper Solaris since MARCH of 2024. After this panel is installed, I still need 33 panels and 2 battery banks installed for this project to be completed and its already been 9 months into what I was told would be a 6-8 week window. I selected Semper Solaris as a fellow service member myself and was let down. I have been paying my solar loan for 6 months on a project that isnt even 50% complete. Additionally, I was pulling a permit to install another structure on the property. Thats why I needed the 400amp panel. That permit has since expired and I need to re-pull it for $3,500.Business Response

We contracted with Semper Solaris (SS) to install a new composite shingle roof and upgrade our solar along with storage batteries mid/late November 2023 with a rough project start date of mid-March. There were a few hiccups during the install scheduling, to include absolutely horrible communication flow between the project manager, the company itself and us as the customer. We dealt with it as really, what could we do? We were mid-project. Even further, during the installation, we observed the laborers standing on our aluminum patio cover. The fascia is now pulled away from the ***** in some areas. Once the solar was installed and converted over to SDGE we began experiencing different breakers tripping randomly and our dryer shorting our. Sometimes it would turn on then others it wouldn't. I tried calling SS. After waiting on hold for a period of time, I hung up and tried the call back feature two additional times with no response. We decided to try to resolve on our own since we A/weren't getting any response from SS and B/because we had such horrible communication previously. Our electrician who installed the dryer connection checked it out and revealed the outlet was no longer getting the correct amperage. He further advised it appeared lines had been swapped on the new panel installed by SS. He also believed the dryer line had possibly been severed to some degree during the install. I tried SS again and finally got in contact. The service rep was great and a tech finally came out. He told us he believed it was an install issue and recommended two options to supervisor. Well, just what we were trying to avoid, filing BBB complaint, is inevitable. That was two weeks ago and we have yet to hear anything. I again tried the return call feature at the company last week and to date no response. There are other issues with the installation but we will deal with those separately. We need our dryer to work again as we are spending money on laundry and have a newborn.Business Response

Semper Solaris installed our solar system in February 2024 and left a large black tarp over an area of our roof with damaged tiles and never returned to finish the job. It is now the end of June 2024, and Semper no longer answers my calls and have even blocked my access to their social media *********** wife is a 100% service connected disabled Navy veteran.Business Response

I am REJECTING the business response because Semper Solaris has promised to take corrective action more than a dozen times and it's just empty promises.
Nothing ever happens.
Semper Solaris has caused my wife significant emotional distress due to their unwillingness to do more than just talk.
We want the roof shingles REPAIRED or REPLACED.
I do not think that is too much to ask, but in order for us to take their response seriously we need to see ACTION, in the form of a REPAIR crew WITH MATERIALS and actual WORK done.Business Response

I contacted semper on 11/22/23 to have a Solar System installed on my home. They told me that my roof was in bad and that I would need a new roof. So I got estimates. The estimate I got was $13k which they told me they couldnt match They told me the best that they could do would be $15k I agreed because I was going to finance it they came out remove all the shingles in the beginning of may 2024 after they were finished. The workers sat my roof drank beer. And Listening to music left a Mess Everywhere And put plastic to cover the roof they were going to install the shingles. I happened to come home from work and see what was done so far i Looked under the plastic. My roofs 4x8 sheets of plywood was rotten.around the entire roof They had replaced 2 sections of plywood with 3/8 sheet not 1/2 And when I asked them, they told me they only replaced the plywood. If the customer gives the ok but how do you agree to something that they were trying to cover up and hide? When I complained to the job supervisor he told me he was going to give me a discount but His discount was inflated materials prices of 350%. I do not trust this company to put a roof on my house. And because of the fact that they try to hide and mislead me. And then give me outrageous amounts to repair the wood that they tried to hide that I had to pay 3k out of pocket I do not feel that the contract amount. Is valid And I want it adjusted. Or i am going to cancel the contract And I know I am not the only person that this happened to because I had spoken To their safety manager that told me of other complaints regarding their roofing jobs and the contractors that they use and the bad work that they are performing and just the lack of workmanship and quality of work that is being performed. It's going on a month that my house Has no roof and their supplies are just sitting on top of my roof.the inspector came failed them both times because of the mess of nails Everywhere my roof was never inspectedBusiness Response
