      I have been a Direct TV customer for years. I am selling my home.I called Direct TV back in September 2024 and asked them what I need to do to cancel service. They told me what date for the end of the mouths billing cycle. And that I did not need to return anything. I told them I would call when i was ready to cancel. They disconnected the service before I called. I reach out to them about this, and they said, sorry they would reconnect it. Then I was told the only way to do this was to put it in as new contract which I was not in a contract. They told me that I would not be charged for canceling the service when I was ready. They gave me a gift card for all trouble I went through. NOW five months later after canceling they are sending and calling me about breaking the contract. WHY? Being told they have no documentation of any of this. And there is no one to talk to about it. We cannot control what they write down on the other end of a phone *******, what to do next? Will not pay for something I do not owe!

      I purchased the premium protection plan from Direct TV. They told me that if my TV can not be repaired, it would be replaced with a comparable model. When my ******* did break and could not be fixed, I was offered an inferior brand of TV. Not a ****.

      They said I have a two year contract and I only had this service for one month and I want to cancel the service. but they want to charge me almost $500. For early cancellation. I did not want a two year contract and did not agree to it. This is for my mom who has Alzheimer's and on a fixed income and can't afford the service.

      I canceled my service they still charged me would not take my call from my cell had to use a different phone to tell them that I canceled the service which they said I didn't I told them that it had been recorded then they claimed they would not pro rate my bill for time I had not used claimed this was the policy. Just over all bad experience from start to finish I would never use them again

      I cancelled my DIRECTV service on ****** to save money. At no time was I told or was it mentioned that I was canceling early and would incur an early cancellation fee. On 4-10-25, 8-months later I received a bill for $234.30 for an early cancellation fee. I immediately called DIRECTV and was transferred 7 times and was told I have been sent to collections. I was then told that if I did not pay the bill, DIRECTV would automatically charge me using the payment method they have on file. I let the manager at DIRECTV know that I will not pay this bill and I would be contacting my bank to let them know what is going on. I immediately went to my bank and issued a stop payment on DIRECTV.Bottom line - terrible customer service, no representative seems to know what is going on, no problem solving skills, a lack of resolution to customer issues.

      I signed up for satellite with streaming on devices. The services was find for 3 months. When I could not cancel my contract without penalty or fees they changed my ability to stream using the app. They would not allow me switch to all streaming without a $400 penalty. But could not correct my problem with the *** to stream. Told me thousands were having the same problem they were working on it but did not have a time frame for correcting the issue. Spoke to a manager ****** in loyalty no help at all. This is the biggest scam I have ever experienced in my life. Just found out they had to settle a class action lawsuit as well.

      I really want to leave no stars. We live in a very rural area. I wanted to get a Gemini receiver. Called the number that is nationally advertised to order one. The person who answered transferred me to tech. That person, named **** ****** told me to call him when I received the Gemini in the mail and we could set it up. It came I called and spent an hour on the phone installing the new receiver. At the end of the call the person told me he needed ****** check mailed immediately to an address in Ca. I hung up and called directv. And have called them several times. Cant talk to a supervisor, cant make them understand that for all I know they could all be criminals trying to scan people. I have been a customer since 2002. I didnt send any money and they still call threatening to cancel my service for not paying. I didnt receive a Gemini and now I really dont want to order anything else because you really cant trust them.

      Technical issues causing me not to be able to stream. Called for compensation since I had to buy ********* . They gave me $70. Can't cancel since there is a $200+ balance on the cancellation contract Had to be on the phone 1hr+ and finally got a manager. I will be cancelling soon

      Alen in tech support told me the channel on Direct TV I was getting 677 TEXR no longer existed at the same time I was watching it on Direct TV at my neighbors house because I was not receiving it. The only thing they can do is read from a script. **** isn't any better. In my house I get 1 bar of reception on my phone and that was after they sent an email stating they just installed a new cell tower near my home for better reception. I canceled my Direct TV, internet and **** phone service. If you are thinking about using any of their services I suggest you don't.

      I just signed up for Frontier and Direct TV. Since they can not even lay the fiber optic cable until April I cancelled all services when I discovered Ive been billed $130.00 for services I do not even have yet! Now direct tv is charging me an additional $498.00 to cancel what I havent even received yet! This is an unethical corrupt business! STAY AWAY FROM DIRECT TV and FRONTIER.
