I just discovered that stamps.com has been charging my credit card $19.99 a month for 8 months for a subscription that I never started and I never even knew that I had. I remember trying to use their service to print a postage label once last spring, but the service didn't work for me, and I ended up just going straight through the post office for my label. I believe I paid a little for the label that didn't work for me (I don't remember why it didn't work) but I didn't worry about the amount since it was such a small amount. Unfortunately, that's when they got my credit card information. I definitely didn't sign up for a subscription with them and never got any notice from them regarding signing up. I'm a senior on a fixed income and the $159.92 they've charged to my card is a big deal to me. I discovered these charges because I had to cancel my current card, and I got an email from them asking me to update my payment information. Of course I won't do that, but I'm requesting a refund of the money they've taken from me without my knowledge. I have no supporting documents because I've never heard from them other than the email I received today asking me to update my payment information. Thank you for any help you can provide with this.Business Response

I was trying to start my own small business and realized Id need postage etc. So I joined for what i thought was for free at the time, Stamps.com. Later I got a discount code on a scale and postage from them, from a ******* sponsorship. But when I tried to order some products they said they couldnt process it and it was canceled. So I had moved to just delete my account my apparently that didnt go through either. Now Im being hit with a 300$+ charge for a subscription from 2022, Im stressing out and Im angry!! I dont know what to do. Ive never received anything from them, was so certain Id close my account on their site within the same of the day of trying to order from them and then failing to do their work.Business Response

Really dissatisfied. The advertising is totally unclear that buying a stamp once is going to sign you up for a 20$ reoccuring fee. They don't even send you a monthly email saying this. They secretly ************ it and the only where you see that is the asterix on the FIRST EMAIL. And on your account there is no billing history so you have to read your credit card statement carefully to find this out. I will always tell people to NOT use this service.Business Response

I recently received an email from stamps.com about money owed. I do NOT recall ever signing up with them. They tell me that I owe $199. I gave in and gave them my credit card. They now tell me that they could not charge and I need to call back. I am now thinking that I should not be paying this AT ALL! I would like this money credited. I canceled my account and never ordered anything. This is a "Monthly fee"Business Response

I closed my account with ********************** on Monday December 4th 2023. My assistant made a mistake and charged $650 for postage instead of $65 on December 2nd 2023. We are closing our office and I called to have them credit my credit card for the balance of my account $577.97. I was told that it will take from 6 to 10 weeks to receive my refund (every person gave me a different time frame). This not acceptable. They should be able to credit my card in days not weeks. One rep said they could have refunded it the day I closed the account buy now it's too late because the account is closed. I would appreciate any help you can be in this matter. Dear ******,
Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate and consider your feedback and take our customers concerns very seriously. Normally we do require the processing time of 6-8 weeks as we are converting **** postage into a cashable refund. To clarify, your postage purchases are transactions with the **** through our software. Postage funds are purchased from the ****, not Stamps.com. However, we have expedited the refund as an exception.
Rest assured that a refund, representing your remaining purchased postage balance, was issued on 12/8/23 as a credit card refund. The refund details are:

Please allow 3-5 business days for this credit to be applied to your account. The credit may not be reflected immediately on an online statement. Please allow one full billing cycle to pass before it is reflected on a paper statement.
Please rest assured that we will be reviewing the interactions in question.
We strongly believe in the value of our service and we always want to do everything that we can to ensure our customers have a positive experience when working with Stamps.com. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

I wanted some **** boxes delivered to my house, which has always been a free service via the post office. I googled and landed on Stamps.com. I thought the site was linked to **** so I didnt think much when I was asked to type in CC information to order my FREE boxes. Never once was I told that I was signing up for a monthly subscription. The following month, I noticed a $19.99 fee on my CC account from **********************. I panicked knowing that I never signed up for this, and reported it as fraud. *** attempted to cancel this account to no avail. There is no way to cancel a subscription on the website and the phone number they provide leads to numerous calls getting dropped. This business is a scam.Business Response

I was charged for a monthly membership fee that I never signed up for. I do not use stamps.com. I have no purpose for their services. This is extremely deceitful, and will impact my future purchasing decisions. I believe I was investigating on how to ship to ZIP Codes. And made an account on their site. Somehow they snuck in a monthly subscription. I want a full refund and my account closed.Business Response

Urgent: Unresolved Refund Issue I am writing to express my deep frustration regarding the ongoing issue surrounding the cancellation of my Stamps.com account, a process initiated over six months ago.To provide some background, I completed the account cancellation back in March 2023, leaving a substantial remaining account balance that exceeded $1000, a sum I had settled through credit card payment. Following the cancellation, the confirmation page explicitly assured a refund within 4-6 weeks.Unfortunately, seven weeks past the promised timeframe, there was no sign of the expected refund. Seeking clarification, I contacted Stamps.com only to receive a response that left me flabbergastedan additional 4-6 weeks waiting period was cited. Despite my persistent attempts to understand the reason for this prolonged delay, my inquiries have been met with unsettling silence and a check would be issued next week and the same story week after.A significant sum exceeding $1000 remains inexplicably trapped in my closed account. This money was not utilized for any Stamps.com services post-cancellation, intensifying my frustration over the continued withholding of funds without a clear explanation.Considering the substantial duration since the refund process began, I urge Stamps.com to prioritize the resolution of this matter. Transparent communication about the reasons for this protracted delay is urgently needed.?Your immediate attention to this issue is not only requestedBusiness Response

On 11-21-23 I signed up for stamps.com. The purpose was to be able to print postage on small letters while being able to have tracking ability. I printed my first postage the same day and sent a letter. Later, I went to check the tracking number and it was not there. I managed to find a number on the digital receipt. It is an invalid number. I contacted customer support via both the website and email without a response. I have also attempted to contact by phone at the number provided on their website and this BBB page ************* and ************) both of which are disconnected. I have no way to cancel and get my money back for this poor service.Business Response

Dear *****,
Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate and consider your feedback and take our customersconcerns very seriously. Rest assured we show that your account is closed. Your confirmation number is: 231128-004006. You have cancelled during our 4-Week Trial,so rest assured that you will not receive any service fees. We do not show that you were charged for this account or that you had made any postage purchases.
We hear your concerns on this, *****, and apologize for any misunderstanding regarding postal standards. We take your concerns seriously regarding the phone lines you have raised, and will investigate this further. I also apologize that you had not received a response to your emails. Checking your account, I see that you printed a First Class Envelope. Unfortunately, this type of mailpiece and class does not provide a tracking number. The number in question that is printed is a transactional ID that was generated as a result of the envelope printing a Postnet barcode, the series of lines you may see on your envelope. This barcode is used primarily for final destination sorting.
Unfortunately, this number does not provide tracking of any kind and the mailpiece in question does not have a built-in tracking number. However, it does provide you with the ability to file an electronic misprint refund (e/refund) as opposed to sending in a mail-in request if you ever encounter a misprint, so you do have access to this convenient feature.
If you do need tracking, we recommend printing a Shipping Label for qualifying classes such as Priority Mail, or to a Flat Rate Envelope such as Priority. Tracking is primarily offered for packages and parcels. You may also add ******* Services, such as Registered or Certified Mail, to an envelope. Our *********** offers more information on these topics here: ****************************
