After using ********** sister company Ship Station I was unknowingly charged for a monthly membership. I confirmed on the phone with ********** customer service that a plan was started automatically when I cancelled my Ship Station account, without my knowledge. Even though I had not used the account for over a year and was unaware of the plan, $216 worth fees, I was offered a $35 refund. This was the only solution offered along side closing my account.

I used ********** once in February 2022 to send one package. I did not see anything that said this is a membership or subscription. Yet I recently checked my bank statements and saw that I have been charged $17.99 monthly from March to September. It's my fault for not checking my bank statements sooner. But I did not sign up for a membership. I just wanted to send one package in February. I tried calling customer service but was disconnected twice.

I have not used this service since some time in 2021. I closed my account some time back then. I seldom use the email on file so i did not know they never closed the account. On September 3rd they took 214.00 out of my account AFTER i was successfully able to close the account on September 1st. Why are they charging me for a service i have not used when their Terms Of Service says they will close out any accounts not used for three consecutive months? I keep calling the number and they keep telling me their office is closed. I want my money back in my account! I thought I was to pay as i used it, not some weird subscription to a mailing service. This is unacceptable! They simply keep billing whether you use it or not!

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This is u true. Your own terms of service says if you do not use the account for three or more consecutive months the account automatically be closed. Furthermore, what person in their right mind would agree to give you all permission to receive personal account information. Your website is misleading because it said I was making an account for my printouts to mail. I did not understand this was a mailing service that would charge whether I used it or not. This is a misleading service. Trust if I don't get my money back I will use every free moment to tweet, toktok, and Facebook rest stamps.com is misleading and costs way more than simply going to the post office. Once I closed my account I was rescinded you to be able to use any of my accounts, I don't care about your billing cycle, this is back handed business practices. We can see what my followers have to say about it.

It's really funny how you refunded everyone else with my same problem and the only people not receiving a courtesy refund are BLACK PEOPLE. There is a white guy who racked up 500 in fees and you all gave him every penny back even when he clearly stated he forgot to cancel the subscription. I will be seeing you all in court. I will not continue to go back and forth. All the white people received a refund, even those that made complaints the same time as me, all the black people received a bullshit explanation, we will leave it up to a judge and I also will be seeking legal fees.

Since April 4th, 2018, Stamps.com has been billing me monthly for $17.99. I was shocked and found that I have lots of company online here. I never intentionally signed up for a subscription to stamps.com When I called them, I was told that I'd receive a refund of $50, which is obviously a fraction of the $860 that I've paid them . . . for nothing.
I've noticed that Stamps.com sends a cookie cutter long response to every complaint, hoping to bury the complainer in a sea of words. It's very simple: They are scoundrels who rely on deceiving their customers and unfortunately, I was one . . . albeit unwittingly.
I'm not even sure that I ever used their service. If I did, I had no idea that I was paying a monthly fee. Why would I? I use USPS.com regularly, without a subscription.

Stamps.com enrolled me, without my knowledge into a monthly subscription of $17.99 starting in March. I had signed up to do pay as you go to mail packages. I did not sign up for any subscription. I just learned of this subscription, cancelled it, and wrote to them to get a refund. There was no direct way to seek a refund, so the email went to a general contact form. I want a full refund of the last 7 months subscription and the remaining balance of my account which was $18. The total comes to $154.01.

    Dear *****,
Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate and consider your feedback and take our customers' concerns very seriously. Normally, a customer is responsible for all service fees. However, rest assured that we have issued a courtesy refund totaling $53.97 on 9/9/22. We have issued an additional refund of $82.04 on 9/14/22. We show that your account is closed. We show that a Stamps.com account was fully activated and established on 2/1/22. We show that a Welcome Email confirming activation had been sent to you on that day. We hear your concerns and we always aim to fully disclose our fees before any account can be created. We do not advertise or offer a free or pay-as-you-go service, and as disclosed and explained during registration, we do charge a monthly fee after the 4-Week Trial Period, which ended on your account on 3/2/22. We show that you cancelled your account on 9/4/22.
To create any Stamps.com account, you must complete the multi-step registration process at www.stamps.com.

The fee we charge gives you access to services of the Post Office and the license to print official U.S. postage. It's a flat fee that is not determined by how much postage you print. I cancelled my stamps.com account on May 27, 2022. I had a balance of about $112 still in my account. I was promised a refund within 6-8 weeks. So far, 3 months later, I have not received a refund.
The account was in the name of my business MHL Financial Services. Billing to credit card ending in 8887. I did not save my account number because I foolishly expected stamps.com to follow through.
    Thank you very much.

I've just received a collection of emails telling me that I owe Stamps.com $235 dollars. I believe these emails have been going to my spam inbox, but I have never used your service or received any stamps or anything of use from Stamps.com. I've called to cancel this supposed account and the person I spoke with on the phone said that it's likely I tried to get free stamps at some point and unknowingly signed up for a monthly account. Looking at the list of complaints on this site, it seems like many, many other people seem to be in the same position... How is this a legitimate business strategy... tricking people into signing up for a monthly subscription for almost $20 a month. It would be one thing if any of us actually received stamps or any kind of service from you, but it seems we just pay monthly fees for the "option" to "print stamps at home"? Like anybody does that? lol. I'm sorry, I really think you should re-assess how you do business. Please issue me a refund as I'm not going to pay for 0 service.

    Dear *****,
Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate and consider your feedback and take our customers' concerns very seriously. Rest assured that your account is closed. Your confirmation number is: ******-******.
We show that APV adjustments made by carriers occurred on your account. If one or more of these payments cannot be collected from your account due to a lack of available funds, your account billing method may be charged (with a minimum charge of $10.00) until you fund your account to cover all outstanding payments and your account may be suspended.
We understand your concerns and we are sorry that you encountered this issue. To clarify, adjustments come directly from the carrier and we are required to pass them onto the customers.

If it is determined by a carrier partner of Stamps.com that a mailing or shipping transaction did not contain sufficient funds (for example, not enough postage to cover a USPS shipment due to an underreporting of weight at time of print, or a change in mail class eligibility because of carrier rule changes), the adjustments would be made.

To clarify, Stamps.com passes along the charges from the carrier - it is not a direct charge from Stamps.com or the Stamps.com software.

Customers who print labels are subject to cost adjustments. Adjustments can occur if the weight is inaccurately reported, or the dimensions of the package when creating a label. When delivering a package, the carrier will verify the weight and dimensions, and will adjust the cost of the label if there are discrepancies.

To best serve our customers, we provide the terms for Stamps.com accounts during the registration process. Stamps.com accounts cannot be created without customers indicating that they've read the terms and conditions. We believe in full disclosure, which is why we provide our terms ( http://www.stamps.com/conditions ) on a single webpage during the registration process. As stated in our Terms:

    10. MAILING & SHIPPING ADJUSTMENT TRANSACTIONS
If you use a shipping service that is paid only when the label is used or if it is determined by Stamps.com or a carrier partner of Stamps.com that a mailing or shipping transaction did not contain sufficient funds (for example, not enough postage to cover a USPS shipment due to an underreporting of weight at time of print, or a change in mail class eligibility because of carrier rule changes), Stamps.com may automatically deduct the amount for the unpaid or short-paid transaction from your account balance. You will be able to review these adjustments in your account history and reports. If one or more of these payments cannot be collected from your account due to a lack of available funds, your account billing method may be charged (with a minimum charge of $10.00) until you fund your account to cover all outstanding payments and your account may be suspended. Stamps.com reserves the right to retain the services of a collection agency to recover the amount due for outstanding payments.
If we can help further, please let us know.

I created my stamps account in March of this year, and I have not used it at all, but I have been charged for the subscription of $17.99 for four months now, with a total of $71.96. I'm very confused about the charges because I was never notified about a bill that I had to pay, and I never authorized the payments that has been taken from my bank account. I even logged into my account and it showed no bills and I have not been using the services from the website. I would like to request a refund, and to have my account deleted.

I tried deleting my account, but I still get emails from stamps.com, so I'm also confused why that is happening. I have requested a password change as well and I never got the email for it. It's as if they purposely not get cancelled or deleted so my account would still get charged.

This scam needs to stop. There's so many customers that have been having the same issues about it, why is it not resolved yet? We shouldn't be getting charged for this subscription we never agreed to authorize.

We show that you cancelled on 8/24/22.
To create any Stamps.com account, you must complete the multi-step registration process at www.stamps.com.

Registration requires you to enter your name, mailing address, phone number and credit card information, in addition to creating a username and password and selecting two security questions. Also, you must review and agree to our Terms and Conditions:

    www.stamps.com/conditions
To best serve our customers, we provide the terms for Stamps.com accounts during the registration process. Stamps.com accounts cannot be created without customers indicating that they've read the terms and conditions. During registration for a Stamps.com account, we explain that your credit card will not be charged unless you continue past the four-week trial or buy additional postage and Online Store products.

In addition, immediately after sign-up, new customers are sent a Welcome Email with the same terms outlined, along with information about the monthly flat rate fee if you choose to continue past the trial month.
The fee we charge gives you access to services of the Post Office and the license to print official U.S. postage. It's a flat fee that is not determined by how much postage you print. Stamps.com is a vendor licensed by the USPS, and all paid postage goes directly to the Post Office. In order to offer our standard service, we do charge a monthly subscription fee.

We never charge people without their full agreement and awareness during our online registration process. Our service fee is not based on usage or activity. The monthly subscription service fee that Stamps.com charges is for access of the Stamps.com software, which allows customers to print postage from the comfort of their home or small office using just a PC and a printer. Our service is a monthly subscription service so it's not based on usage of the software, but rather on having access to using it.
We believe in full disclosure, and information about our fees is available on our website, interface, Terms, and FAQs.
During registration for a Stamps.com account, we explain that your credit card will not be charged unless you continue past the four-week trial or buy additional postage and Online Store products. We believe the monthly fee provides a good value for customers who need to print not only just Priority and Priority Express Mail shipping labels, but also Shipping Labels for other classes (we support First Class, Media Mail, and Parcel Select Labels), NetStamps, and postage printed directly on envelopes. We do have a wide variety of customers - over a million customers- who enjoy the experience of not having to rely on expensive postage meters and who require more functionality and features than what other PC Postage services currently offer.

On our main page at www.stamps.com, we explain our fees under the section "Here's how it works..." During the registration process we do make sure that our customers are aware of the monthly service fee in that we have it detailed on the webpage titled "Why do you need my credit card information?"

We do this so that customers can see the price before they complete the registration process. We also have the billing policy detailed in our Terms and Conditions at:

    www.stamps.com/conditions

Customers are required to review and agree to these Terms prior to completing registration.
In addition, potential customers can review and compare our pricing plans, as well as other important information, to determine which plan best meets their mailing needs via the Learn More section which is accessible from the Stamps.com home page. We offer FAQs that answer questions about pricing, plans, and specific and general benefits of using Stamps.com:
