I registered a username and password at ********** just to access the site and see what they offered. They never informed me I was signing up for a subscription simply by registering a username and password. I now see they automatically signed me up for a "Pro Plan" without my knowledge. I haven't used their service and have no interest in it.

    Dear *******,
Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate and consider your feedback and take our customers' concerns very seriously. Normally, a customer is responsible for all service fees. However, rest assured that we have issued a courtesy refund totaling $19.79 on 8/11/22. We show that your account is closed.
We show that a Stamps.com account was fully activated on 7/5/22. We show that a Welcome Email confirming activation had been sent to you on that day. We hear your concerns and we always aim to fully disclose our fees before any account can be created. We do not advertise or offer a free or pay-as-you-go service, and as disclosed and explained during registration, we do charge a monthly fee after the 4-Week Trial Period, which ended on your account on 8/3/22. We show your account was closed on 8/8/22.
Rest assured that we've added your name to a special database to prevent further contact regarding this waiver. You'll receive a separate email confirming this.
We allow all of our customers to evaluate our features without signing up for an account. We provide extensive FAQs and demos in order to answer any queries that a potential customer may have in regards to the Stamps.com service and software. When you visit our website, you have the option of viewing various pages that offer more information and background on our postage printing product. You do not have to register in order to receive information about Stamps.com.
To create any Stamps.com account, you must complete the multi-step registration process at www.stamps.com.
Registration requires you to enter your name, mailing address, phone number and credit card information, in addition to creating a username and password and selecting two security questions. Also, you must review and agree to our Terms and Conditions:

    www.stamps.com/conditions
To best serve our customers, we provide the terms for Stamps.com accounts during the registration process. Stamps.com accounts cannot be created without customers indicating that they've read the terms and conditions. During registration for a Stamps.com account, we explain that your credit card will not be charged unless you continue past the four-week trial or buy additional postage and Online Store products.

In addition, immediately after sign-up, new customers are sent a Welcome Email with the same terms outlined, along with information about the monthly flat rate fee if you choose to continue past the trial month.
The fee we charge gives you access to services of the Post Office and the license to print official U.S. postage. It's a flat fee that is not determined by how much postage you print. Stamps.com is a vendor licensed by the USPS, and all paid postage goes directly to the Post Office. In order to offer our standard service, we do charge a monthly subscription fee.

We never charge people without their full agreement and awareness during our online registration process. Our service fee is not based on usage or activity. The monthly subscription service fee that Stamps.com charges is for access of the Stamps.com software, which allows customers to print postage from the comfort of their home or small office using just a PC and a printer. Our service is a monthly subscription service so it's not based on usage of the software, but rather on having access to using it.
We believe in full disclosure, and information about our fees is available on our website, interface, Terms, and FAQs.
During registration for a Stamps.com account, we explain that your credit card will not be charged unless you continue past the four-week trial or buy additional postage and Online Store products. We believe the monthly fee provides a good value for customers who need to print not only just Priority and Priority Express Mail shipping labels, but also Shipping Labels for other classes (we support First Class, Media Mail, and Parcel Select Labels), NetStamps, and postage printed directly on envelopes. We do have a wide variety of customers - over a million customers- who enjoy the experience of not having to rely on expensive postage meters and who require more functionality and features than what other PC Postage services currently offer.

On our main page at www.stamps.com, we explain our fees under the section "Here's how it works..." During the registration process we do make sure that our customers are aware of the monthly service fee in that we have it detailed on the webpage titled "Why do you need my credit card information?"

We do this so that customers can see the price before they complete the registration process. We also have the billing policy detailed in our Terms and Conditions at:

    www.stamps.com/conditions

Customers are required to review and agree to these Terms prior to completing registration.
In addition, potential customers can review and compare our pricing plans, as well as other important information, to determine which plan best meets their mailing needs via the Learn More section which is accessible from the Stamps.com home page. We offer FAQs that answer questions about pricing, plans, and specific and general benefits of using Stamps.com:

I created a stamps.com account in April and used it once to ship a small item. I did not notice when I created the account that there will be a subscription charge every month. I only found out by accident when I checked my credit card statement. I also was not notified every month about the fee. The subscription fees are not clearly presented on the website. I have been charged $53.97 so far. I have closed the account and would like to get refunded.

I was surprised to find a couple of emails in my inbox this morning stating I owe Stamps.com $59.49. As a consumer, I have logged into Stamps.com to comparison shop prices to ship a personal package to a family member this past year... After getting logged in, I wasn't able to even quote the shipping so I gave up and went to FedEx Office. Doesn't Stamps.com sell USPS labels? I am not a business with frequent shipping needs. It appears by creating an account unbeknownst to me there was a monthly recurring fee being charged of $17.99 a month?! I never received a single email confirmation of account setup or recurring charge from Stamps.com before today regarding this account or even a sales ad to my email for that matter... this is baffling and extremely concerning business practice. Please help me resolve this issue to clear out the balance on this account as I have not even visited the site since that one day. Today I was able to opt out of the subscription but now I no longer have access to log in to see any activity in the account so I hope that I receive email communication that this issue has been resolved.

Created an account to send a certified mail, but I was locked out of the account after that. My username and password are correct. Unable to reach customer service , very long hold,or out of office message during business hours. Company keeps emailing me stating that I owe $28. But the email address says "no-reply." Promised a scale as a sign-up gift but it was never shipped. Didn't know about a monthly service charge until I saw the charges on my credit card statement. I have been trying to cancel and I can't.

I purchased stamps as a one-time transaction from stamps.com. I received an email that I was enrolled in a plan with no information about a monthly billing charge that I just discovered. The charges began on 3/30/2022. An email I received on July 29 notified me that a billing charge was adjusted because I requested account closure. I didn't know I was being billed. What service is this? Why was I being billed after a one-time purchase? I did not agree to enroll in a monthly service. I use a handful of stamps each year. I didn't receive anything for those monthly charges.

An online entity, Stamps.com is fraudulently billing my credit card for services/products that I did not request and have asked to be stopped. I have been on hold without a response for over an hour. I have never received anything from them and they continue to bill my credit card on a monthly basis.

    Dear*******,
Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate and consider your feedback and take our customers' concerns very seriously. Normally, a customer is responsible for all service fees. However, rest assured that we have issued a courtesy refund totaling $35.98 on 8/7/22. We show that your account is closed.
We show that a Stamps.com account was fully activated on 5/27/22. We show that a Welcome Email confirming activation had been sent to you on that day. We hear your concerns and we always aim to fully disclose our fees before any account can be created. We do not advertise or offer a free or pay-as-you-go service, and as disclosed and explained during registration, we do charge a monthly fee after the 4-Week Trial Period, which ended on your account on 6/25/22. We show your account was closed on 8/7/22.

In addition, potential customers can review and compare our pricing plans, as well as other important information, to determine which plan best meets their mailing needs via the Learn More section which is accessible from the Stamps.com home page. Hi, my card was recently charged for a $17.99 (plus tax) membership that I did not purchase. I recently signed up for a free trial but then canceled it before the 30 days were up. I have no use for Stamps.com. However, my account is still showing as active. I need an immediate full refund, and to need to have my account closed. I do not want to dispute the charge with my bank, but will do so if necessary. So far, Stamps.com has ignored my emails attempting to resolve this.

    Please resolve this

I purchased a shipping label from stamps.com on July 15 2022, tracking ************************** for a total cost of $51.05. I purchased shipping for 50 pounds, in excess of the actual shipping weight to allow for any discrepancy in the scale I used. Upon drop off at the Morehead City NC UPS store, I received and still possess a receipt for the order which weighed in at 45lbs, 8.6 ounces. This morning I received several emails for adjustments to the shipment, to include a weight of 244 pounds 0 oz. The final carrier adjustment cost is $1,238.05 for a ground delivery from zip code ***** to******. Upon contacting UPS, they are able to see the package was billed for 50 pounds. One representative indicated the total adjusted shipping cost was $87.53 but was unable to offer or forward invoice materials for this cost.

My bank account has been charged $618.72 by Stamps.com as of July 27th. I would like the difference of the difference of the $87.53 and $618.72 returned. The price charged far exceeds what a 3-day ground delivery from UPS would have charged and was in no way authorized or anticipated. Representatives at the UPS store confirmed the order was within size limits and had no reservations receiving the package as it was. This is the second time we have seen a dramatic weight difference in a Stamps.com claim and we are alarmed that prices are changing well after products have been delivered.

    Dear *********,
Thank you for your inquiry. We appreciate and consider your feedback and take our customers' concerns very seriously. We are sorry to hear that you encountered this experience. We show that our senior technician***** and our Shipper Support Specialists assisted you with this issue. We show that***** sent all of the internal reports that reference the package in question via email on 7/27/22.
We show that the deduction for the adjustment was made from the meter. Since the funds were unavailable it triggered a charge to the card and the funds were applied to the meter negative balance. The available meter balance on 8/2/22 is -$618.71. In order for the meter balance to be refunded, the account will need to be closed once the credit is applied. Once closed, the USPS releases the meter balance to be refunded within 30 days.
We apologize for any misunderstanding. To clarify, adjustments come directly from the carrier and we are required to pass them onto the customers.

If it is determined by a carrier partner of Stamps.com that a mailing or shipping transaction did not contain sufficient funds (for example, not enough postage to cover a USPS shipment due to an underreporting of weight at time of print, or a change in mail class eligibility because of carrier rule changes), the adjustments would be made.

To clarify, Stamps.com passes along the charges from the carrier - it is not a direct charge from Stamps.com or the Stamps.com software.

Customers who print labels are subject to cost adjustments. Adjustments can occur if the weight is inaccurately reported, or the dimensions of the package when creating a label. When delivering a package, the carrier will verify the weight and dimensions, and will adjust the cost of the label if there are discrepancies.

To best serve our customers, we provide the terms for Stamps.com accounts during the registration process. Stamps.com accounts cannot be created without customers indicating that they've read the terms and conditions. We believe in full disclosure, which is why we provide our terms ( http://www.stamps.com/conditions ) on a single webpage during the registration process. As stated in our Terms:

    10. MAILING & SHIPPING ADJUSTMENT TRANSACTIONS
If you use a shipping service that is paid only when the label is used or if it is determined by Stamps.com or a carrier partner of Stamps.com that a mailing or shipping transaction did not contain sufficient funds (for example, not enough postage to cover a USPS shipment due to an underreporting of weight at time of print, or a change in mail class eligibility because of carrier rule changes), Stamps.com may automatically deduct the amount for the unpaid or short-paid transaction from your account balance. You will be able to review these adjustments in your account history and reports. If one or more of these payments cannot be collected from your account due to a lack of available funds, your account billing method may be charged (with a minimum charge of $10.00) until you fund your account to cover all outstanding payments and your account may be suspended. Stamps.com reserves the right to retain the services of a collection agency to recover the amount due for outstanding payments.

Stamps.com has changed me $17.99 a month for 10 months. I vaguely remember looking at their website, and realizing buying directly from USPS made more sense.
I was able to cancel the subscription today, but am frustrated that I have not received any notice that I was being charged each month.
