I came to the Fox Rent A Car ***************** to return my rental and switch to a new reservation. When I asked about using my own insurance, the *** told me I had to purchase their $18/day insurance because "California law" doesn't allow private insurance after 30 days of renting.I specifically asked her, Is this the case with all companies? and she said yes that it's a California policy, not just a Fox thing.That immediately felt off, so I returned the car and called another rental company while walking out and confirmed this was a lie. There is no such law.I went back inside to cancel my reservation and told her I was frustrated because she gave me false information. I asked her to put the policy in writing, and instead of owning it, she completely changed her story and said "it depends on your insurance." (Mind you, she never even asked who my insurer is so how would she know?)When I told her she said something totally different earlier, she denied ever saying it. This was nothing but a dishonest, shady upsell attempt to pressure me into buying insurance I didnt need.If I hadnt double-checked with another company, I wouldve wasted hundreds of dollars because of her false ********* careful. Ask questions. And dont take their word for it they will lie, deny, and blame you when caught.Fox Rent A Car

I was charged with multiple fees that shouldn't have been there. First was a p***aid fuel charge, that I was told would be reduced if if we turned the car in with gasoline. We had over half a tank, but we're still charged full amount. When I signed in, I requested my drop off time be 5:30pm, instead of am, due to an error. The customer service *** was nice and suggested I turn the car in at 4:30, instead, because it was saving me approx $15.00 and there was an hour grace ******* We turned in our car before 4:30, and there were at least 6-8 cars parked in front of us. I even walked to the check out desk to ask what to do, and they told me to go back and someone would be with me soon. They stated I turned the car in at 4:59. I was already through ***, checked my bags etc and waiting to board my plane by then. Regardless, they wouldn't waive the fee, and said it would be 48 hours to speak with a supervisor. Totally unacceptable. I would never use this company.Fox Rent A Car

A rental day is a 24 hour time frame from the time of pick up, as your pick up was at 1:36pm you would have had only until 1:35 to return the car within the grace ******* I do apologize if that was not explained correctly to you. I do show that you returned the car at half and were issued a refund for half of a tank of fuel. Horrible experience. The tire blew out on my rental car on a major highway. There was no spare tire in the trunk. I waited for 3.5 hours for a tow truck that never came despite repeated calls to Fox. I finally used my AAA to get towed and they refused to reimburse me. In addition, they refused to pay for the new tire despite the fact that the tire company confirmed the tire was defective and was no fault of the driver. Renting from this company was the biggest mistake that I will always regret! STAY AWAY! by the way their **** says they are BBB accredited and they absolutely are not! they steal from you regardless of what you do. When I rented from them I specifically asked for a big full size because I had a person with disabilities with me and when we arrived they said ''oh no you got a smaller car'' the disabled person was with me in front of them! why would I get a small charger for 5 people and one disabled?! the guy was so rude and had no sympathy he simply looked the other way as to ignore my guy. That has to be discrimination against a disabled person. we couldn't get our money back or get another bigger vehicle! and to make things worse I bought the surpass ticket for the tolls and guess what?! I was billed for tolls because I refused they're $95 dollar "plan" the tolls were .86 cents but their administration fee is $15 per toll. So I decided to just pay and get it over with these crooks but that wasn't enough for them. It's APRIL and i'm still getting billed for tolls from FEBRUARY!! I've had enough with the bad business practices this company is doing! we need to get a class action lawsuit against the for all the money they've stolen from their customers. Because of this experience I will ALWAYS read reviews now. Oh and every review they answer "get a hold of us so we can review your case" THEY NEVER ANSWER! not emails! not phones! THEY SIMPLY DON'T CARE ALL THEY WANT IS TO STEAL AND IP PEOPLE OFF!! BEWARE STAY AWAY! wort rental company ever!!!! ZERO STARS!!Fox Rent A Car

My first time using fox was when I booked a mid size SUV through Expedia. When I got to the counter, I was offered a ****** Corolla. When I said I needed something bigger that matches what I booked, they offered me a ****** Highlander. However, I was charged $150 for getting a bigger vehicle, even though its what I reserved. The customer service on this has been horrible and theres no direct way to contact this place to make it easier to discuss.Fox Rent A Car

If youre looking for a car rental company where favoritism runs the show, Fox Rent A Car near LAX is your place! (*****************************************************************************) ********, the so-called manager, only steps in when it benefits him, and his favorite employee, *******, apparently runs the entire operation with zero accountability. Other employees are unfairly scrutinized for small mistakes that she makes a big deal about, while she gets away with serious issues. Want a toxic work environment full of double standards? Fox Rent A Car has you covered! Otherwise, Id strongly suggest going somewhere ******* experience with this location was disappointing, particularly due to ********* poor leadership. Fairness and professionalism are clearly not priorities here. Decisions are based on favoritism (racism) rather than merit, with certain employees receiving special treatment while others face unfair consequences, fired, or treated with loosing their jobs. While *******, has unchecked authority despite holding the same position as others. When she makes mistakes, they are ignored, **** covers both eyes and looks away yet her coworkers face severe repercussions for minor incidents in comparison to hers. This double standard creates unnecessary stress and is driving away dedicated ********** make matters worse, management dismisses employees personal circumstances, even when communicated in advance. Professionalism, respect, and fairness should be the foundation of any business, but thats not the case here. There are far more qualified individuals who could lead this workplace with integrity rather than through bias and favoritismbut then again didnt get that position because of racism and gender inequality. 0 stars possible? No car- no refund. Got there and could not get a car for even the days up to when my husband's license would expire. Told several times no problem we could get a refund with EXPEDIA in a month or so. Referred to another company that charged us another 800 bucks for the 10 days. Tried to rent the car in my name- couldn't. Tried to rent for a couple of days- couldnt. Nothing we did got us a car. Thought we would get a refund. ****! Dont trust this place. Do not use Fox Rent A Car! They will rip you off one way or another. When I arrived at the counter to pick up the vehicle, they told me they did not accept my credit card after taking the reservation with it. So we paid with my brothers credit card instead and rented the vehicle. Returned it on time. Two months later they send me an invoice trying to say I did not pick up the vehicle with my credit card and are now trying to charge me again. Save all your receipts and proof and take pictures of the vehicle before and after. They will try to rip you off if they can.Fox Rent A Car

I would not rent a car from ***. We prepaid for a reservation. Our flight was delayed so we called their customer service to notify them and were told they will hold the car for 12 hours. It also states this on their website. Upon arriving within that 12 hour window, they told us they no longer had our car and that we would be charged an extra $32 per day. When I mentioned the 12 hour policy, the response was that we could take it or leave it. So if your flight gets delayed, they will likely use this to upcharge you. Additionally, we declined all insurance and they still charged us for it. We called and talked to multiple people at FOX and each one of them was very disrespectful and said there was nothing they could do.Fox Rent A Car

Looks like you didnt read my review very carefully- they were able to use the reservation that was booked but charged me $32 more dollars per day. Also, I have already contacted you and talked to three people and have been told there is nothing that they can do. And all three were very rude.
