When checking in I was adding a second driver and they said its $11 a day, or for $15 you can upgrade to a higher class of vehicle that will give you more cars to select from and include that second driver. There were none of my original class or the upgraded class I paid for available. They sold me something they didn't have. Also, they told me if I purchased the pre-paid gas that I would be reimbursed for the amount equal to whatever gas was left in the tank. They did not, and when I called to discuss the bill the agent said their policy is that they do NOT reimburse. Complete scam!Fox Rent A Car

I apologize for any confusion. Prepaid fuel is a service that can be purchased at the time of pick up. This is either a half or a full tank of fuel and is not for fuel used. I hope that by writing this review, it will save other people from being scammed by this company. My husband and I rented a car from Fox Rent-A-Car. When we made the initial reservation online, we opted out of the insurance. We have our own insurance and we certainly would not pay $26 a day for 10 days of insurance coverage that we do not need. The agent tricked us with the toll package as well, just like the others. When you are traveling and standing in line to get or return a rental car, by the time you get to the window and get your paperwork, you are exhausted and just want to get in your car and go. The agent has you initial and sign the contract and you are not expecting them to rip you off by throwing in additional charges. Just like everyone else, that is exactly what they did to us. I contacted the company and they promised me the manager of the office where we rented our car would contact us within 48 hours, and of course he/she never did. I called them back a few days later and they said the manager denied your refund. Of course, thats their ploy, once you sign it, they say Oh no, too bad, you agreed to that when you signed the contract. As expected, you cannot speak to the manager, and once they have made their decision, thats it! I asked to appeal the decision, and I was flatly refused. Apparently as many others have experienced, that is how fox Rent-A-Car does business. I only wish that I had known that before we went to them.Fox Rent A Car

I am very sorry that there was confusion at pick up. All charges must be signed for at pick up. We show that both the rental agreement and the printed summary of charges were signed by the renter at pick up. As both were signed for with the explanation no refund can be issued. Unfortunately Fox Rent A Car is not a trustworthy company. They take advantage of unsuspecting travelers, their customers. They tell you its $17 a day when you fill out the reservation online, and when its all said and done they charge you $37+ a day. I hope this information will help others avoid being unexpectedly and unfairly charged for things that they neither want nor need. I dont understand how Fox Rent A Car employees feel good about taking money from honest, hardworking retirees, as disgraceful as it is. Next year when we go to ******* to visit our kids and grandkids, we wont be using their services again.Review fromSharla J

This company charges $15 administrative fee per toll while intentionally misleading you. I was offered the $10/day toll pass. I openly discussed with the customer service representative that I will only be going through +/- $30 in tolls on my trip so not worth the $100 for the pass and I would just pay cash at the tolls. The customer service rep agreed and also said I would be sent a bill for the toll roads which read the license plate and automatically bill. I understood and said that was fine. Not once did he mention there would be a $15 administrative fee added to each toll. I went through 10 tolls that were automatically billed in the 2 days that I actually drove the car. a month later I received a bill. for $10.36 in automatic tolls and they had tacked on a $150 administration fee. *** knows this is a dishonest practice because when you call customer service they instantly offer a discount of 50% and then reduce it further when you are still not satisfied. To my displeasure, I settled on paying a $30 administration fee to avoid further headache of fighting this. I will never use this company again and neither should you.Fox Rent A Car

Of course, it is in the fine print that Fox Rent A Car knows nobody ever reads. That is the point of this complaint. I paid in cash the tolls where it was available. Some of the toll roads where I was driving were cashless.. The only way to avoid this is to pay their daily fee (which is like $9 per day) or bring an EZ pass from home. I didnt think to bring my EZ pass from home because I wasnt expecting to be charged this much. The administration fee is unreasonable and not in-line with industry standards. By not disclosing this fee in an upfront and obvious manner you are trying to pull a fast one and this practice is borderline egregious. Most rental companies charge an administration fee for processing tolls, I get that, but not $15 per toll. Also, most other rental companies' fees are reasonable or capped at a reasonable amount.Review fromRosa A

1 starWaiting for lines over **** h and when you get there, they tell you we dont have car for the price you pay. They want to upgrade you for bigger car , then you go and get the car and you find out that you getting the same car . Their agent went to the back and then came back to tell us that her shift ended and her colleagues will take of us. So she spent 20 minutes in the back and came back to pick her stuff to go home. The car was fine but they advertised $17 per day when really the price was over $35 per day. When a company misrepresents their prices it wastes the customer's time and erodes trust in the company. Then after the trip I discovered that we were charged a $15 administrative fee by Fox every time we went through a toll station in addition to the toll charge. These fees were not disclosed at any time prior to our turning in the car. So, we ended up being charged over $150 in toll related fees for a round trip from ****** to ***********, **.Fox Rent A Car

If I could give a negative star review I would! I reserved a car through Expedia which sent me to Fox Rental. Probably spent almost 2 hours there because they were giving us a hard time about upgrading (which we didnt want to). They ended up canceling our reservation. Oh and we also prepaid for the rental during the reservation (So they told us that our refund isnt guaranteed since we reserved with Expedia) Mind you everyone else that was there also was having the SAME issues! I dont think any of those customers walked out of there with a vehicle. We had to get an Uber to take us to another rental place.Fox Rent A Car
