BOOKING ID ****** @ ****** 2/16/22. Going skiing booked SUV, ******* had a blizzard plain delayed 1 hr. Turns out no SUV available , at 7 pm so I was offered sedan or nothing. I still had 4 hr drive to mountains. 7pm on the airport not too many options available on holiday Weeknd. Had to squeeze kids and long skies after unpacking bags on the sidewalk. I was told they hold a car 1 hrs and I should call being delays on the plain?! I wasn't only one in line to be denied SUV. In front of me 2 other groups had the same experience being refused SUV. It was all happening, while we are under nice advertisement with Toyta 4 runner saying how one can be upgraded to better experience. Who? Which one? I even didnt want the upgrade I just wanted my regular experience with SUV. Shrewdness bothered me. They know upfront they what they going to do, thats why SUV rental is cheap. Probably few get it. And the rest of you have sedan that is overpriced. They didnt want to adjust the price because I was downgraded (though offered free tank of gas). This is first time I used other company then Enterprise. Before covid when enterprise didnt have a car they would give free upgrade. If downgraded would always nicely adjusted a ************* has a name for a reason. Expedia refused to help, but send me back to FOX. Maybe one day *** will meet a Wolf. Some tired ****** off class action lawyer who will review their practices, and come with some round sum to compensated cheated customers. For now all you can do is vote with feet and money. Dont go to FOX to rent a car , dont pay FOX for renting. They should be off American car rental market.Very disappointed with Expedia. As a customer I feel cheated, lied, not served and expose to dangerous long drive through ******** mountains.

Terrible experience. I had to modify my dates. I let them know 1 week in advance. They told me they couldn't modify the existing reservation that I would have to cancel it and request a refund via email and to book a new reservation. Afterwards, I get a generic email that they won't process a refund for the original reservation at all.

100% completely bogus company that should be shut down. Paid in full with Expedia like all these others. Charged me so many additional "fees" and 100% lied that I HAD TO have the toll monitor on my car because it was $15 EVERY SINGLE time I pass thru a toll (he knew I was headed to a specific soccer complex as he talked to me about how much this device would save me.) Well - I paid ONE $3 toll my ENTIRE visit and it wasn't even CLOSE to my event. Complete LIAR at the ***** airport- ****** was his name. I've called but ZERO response. Placing a chargeback on the card until they resolve the added fees and bs toll pass that this company clearly has a nonstop issue with. Disgusting and unethical. Reporting to the ** of ***** AND Expedia who allow crooks to sell 3rd party onto flights.

I've already sent them all the info and this is there reply-I guess their "reply" to send me bk to resubmitting the complaint back to them is the "cycle" of bad customer service that everyone else complains about. I rented a car on 1-28-2023 for the location outside the Denver airport, and the fuel level in the car was a little over a half tank when I rented the car - although the paperwork I received from the front counter said it was full.
I told the gentleman about it who was working at the exit from the lot and he told me that he’d mark me for 5/8 if a tank. I thanked him and left.
When I returned the car on the morning of the 30th I dropped it off with about 3/4 tank of gas, told the woman checking the vehicles what the situation was, left the paperwork in the car, and then took the shuttle to the airport. (I know I should keep the paperwork but it’s always been so seamless and I’ve never had an issue, and I was in a hurry to catch a flight so since everyone seemed to be on the same page I didn’t think anything of it).
I received my receipt via email and saw that Fox charged me for not bringing the car back with a full tank of gas.
I called to inquire about it and they simply said that if I didn’t have my paperwork indicating that I left the lot with 5/8 like the guy working the gate that day said he “marked me down for” (not sure what that means or where he marks it on his end) that there was nothing they could do and couldn’t refund me.
I talked to a gentleman in customer service about this and he agreed to apply a credit to an account I then had to create with Fox instead of giving me a reimbursement, which is better than nothing, however it wasn’t really about the money as much as the “what the heck” factor. It gave me a very weird feeling like the business does this intentionally to make more money off customer’s lack of awareness or follow up.
Anyway, I can’t say I’ll never use Fox again, I likely will, however there’s no way I’m ever accepting a car with less than a full tank, and I’ll be documenting everything when I do rent from there going forward just to protect myself.

ABSOLUTE FRAUD ON EVERY LEVEL! AVOID THIS COMPANY! Reserved an *** thru Priceline. Paid approx. $200 for 3 days in *******. Upon pick-up, I was asked if I would like to take advantage of a service they provide for my convenience: Since the fuel tank is full now and I am supposed to return it with the same, instead I can just drop off the vehicle, they will replace the missing fuel and charge me $4.46 a gallon. I was told in the ******* area the average price was around $5/gallon. Sounds great, right???? Don't have to stop at a gas station before returning the car and save a few dollars as well. I ended up driving fewer miles than expected and returned the vehicle with the tank still 7/8 full. Upon returning home, I found out that Fox charged me an additional $252 dollars, including $90 for an upgrade I didn't ask for and $102.58 for fuel. I did the math: $102.58 divided by $4.46 per gallon comes to 23 gallons. ********** 4runner I had holds exactly 23 gallons of fuel. So they charged me as if I returned the *** without a drop of fuel in it. Naturally, I called customer service. Someone in *************** answered the phone and I could hear farm animals in the background. Never a great sign! They proceeded to tell me that I did in fact return the car with 7/8 full of gas, but unfortunately, nothing could be done since I signed a contract stating I would pay $102.58 for gas. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told someone would call within ***** hours. Of course, no one did. I tried to call the Fox rental desk at ******* airport directly. BEWARE!!! Any automated option you choose will end up being answered by someone in ***************. I even tried to dispute the credit card transaction thru my bank to see if I could get the fraudulent charges returned. The result was the same: Too bad, the contract has your signature. I hope some day there will be a class action lawsuit against this company. If so, I am 100% on board!

WORST Rental company out there - FOX IS A SCAM!! I had originally booked and pre-paid/pay now for a Rental from Fox for 3 days only at $180 for a defective, old, unsanitary & smelly ******* that had over ****** miles on it - that already tells a lot right there, as most top tier Rental Companies target 30K miles, before they replace them. Nevertheless, I did not complain, UNTIL I just received and took a look at my FINAL BILL they emailed me and I about lost it! I just sat on hold for billing over 55 min. just to be told, I had to email customer service and then click! Now, I did and take responsibility for extending my Rental past the 3 days and acknowledge the $20 per day extension fee, but that is NOT my issue here. My Problem is the mysterious, other bogus charges resulting in my Bill now stating I owe them $1362.76. For 1. I SPECIFICALLY DECLINED ANY and ALL offers to purchase Their insurance !! I EVEN PRESENTED MY OWN CAR INSURANCE CARD when I got to their COUNTER- stating MY CAR INSURANCE COVERS RENTALS, so no thanks. YET, my BILL says I chose to purchase their insurance - YET there is no signature NOR my initials signed off next to that?? Hmmm.. ?? Yet, they are wanting to charge me $475.20 JUST for their insurance policy- which I NEVER AGREED to nor signed off on is added to my total bill. The other added charges are just AS bogus, such as charging me for Extra added miles, even though my Rental Agreement CLEARLY states UNLIMITED MILES I guess Fox is so worried that their old, run-down disgusting car is almost at 50K miles now, even though I didnt even drive it more than a few miles, as I stayed in town! So, since Foxs representatives are being completely uncooperative and refusing to make this right, it will leave me with not much choice than to report this Company to the legal authorities in the state I rented the car from. Lawyer up & take this matter to Court! To anyone reading this, take the advice from many on here & dont rent Fox!

I rented a prepaid car for the first time through Expedia from 12/27 - 12/31. I had to extend for a day on the rental, inquired and was informed the extension charges were a total $107.12 which I agreed and proceeded. I returned the car 30 mins earlier (yet they tried to charged me $13.49 for late returned but was refunded) where I was told to just dropped off the keys at the booth and leave. A few days later, there was additional charged on CC in the amount of $161.45. I wrote an email inquiring on this extra charges and excerpt from the email reply".....they were excess charges: additional renter fee of $20, and the ext. day charges renters liability insurance...along with taxes and surcharges. NONE of which were part of your prepaid rental charges. They were in addition to." "You WERE charged $107.12 for the extension charge, and the remaining balance of $161.45 which I agreed to signed for prior" at rental return after the authorisation dropped off..." My final payment total to FOX were $255.08 instead of $107/12 which was the original invoice and receipt. I was unaware of the additional charges, neither signed nor agreed prior or at the rental return after the authorisation dropped off. The extension rental was a done deal on the 31st, confirmation sent via email at 0830hrs on 12/31, never received any other invoices nor email. The rental agreement was emailed on 1/1/2023 @ 1537hrs AFTER returning and dropped off the car. On 1/17/23 I was then offered store credit of $100 which was more than what I was charged and had to pay, and that I should received an email w a link to setup my profile within 12-24hrs and it is today 2/06/23. I felt like the credit "offered" was insincere. I want this dispute and I want my full money back. I do not want store credit as I will never rent from FOX, daylight robbery! $100 credit, won't even cover any additional charges which ended up, me being cheated yet continuing to support your unethical business!

Fox rental car was extremely disrespectful and racist. All because of the fact that I am white, they refused to give me a vehicle which I already paid for. I was switching out cars, so all my possessions where in the car I was switching. The manager on duty on 2/2/23 at 19:30 told me that he wasn't going to rent to me because I am white ND welcome to the new California. I called him racist and he called the cops, having me escorted to the sidewalk, with all of my work possessions and degraded
/ humiliated. Fox rental car is racist, dishonest and I will be filling a law suit
      Thanks

Do not do business with this company. I went with them because of their okay reviews; what a huge mistake. First, they dropped me at the wrong Fox car pick-up location, and I had to walk in the pouring rain in the dark in LA to find the right location. I got soaking wet, trying to find the location. The employees at the other location weren't very helpful at all. When I finally arrived, I had a reservation all ready entirely prepaid with insurance through Expedia. She asked me if I wanted additional insurance. I told her no, I'd already paid for it through my reservation. She then told me that she was only charging me on my credit card a 500 dollar deposit that would be refunded upon returning the car, and I agreed. Later I noticed on the contract that they gave me that I was charged an additional $129.95 for insurance. I said no to it. I had already purchased it from Expedia for five days of rental; I didn't need to pay additional insurance at $25.98 per day when I clearly stated no to it. I did extend the rental for one day and was charged $93.12. I have no problem paying this, but they still charged me an additional $267.86 for the rental. I was charged for a 5-day cheap car $576.70/ That is an outrageous amount for the crappy car I was given. When I called, they only gave me back half of the insurance costs. This should be illegal when I stated no to the insurance because I already paid through Experien. I want the entire amount of $129/95 returned. Even though I'm still being overcharged by ***, the criminals that they are. I'm willing to let that go, I will never book with them again, and I will spend the rest of my life telling people not to do business with them because they are liars and thieves. Do business with them at your own risk and you will regret it..

I am very sorry that you had issues upon arrival at the LAX location. We have only one rental location but possibly you got off at the parking lot instead of the rental facility, my apologies that was not explained to you better.
I am showing that all insurance was removed from the rental, I have resent the invoice to your email on file so please check for that. I apologize for your experience and thank you for sharing your feedback with us as we work to make improvements.
